Good Morning, Everybody!
Another weekend, bringing another batch of count numbers with it.
Will this cycle ever end?
Nope! Not as long as Christmas and its wonderful associated Season endure.
And can we endure looking at the latest data?
Of course. That's why we are here!
Days to the Season: 150
Days to Christmas Day: 192
And as a true test of endurance, let's see if we can accept the fact that the HALF WAY point to Christmas Day 2018 is now only TEN days away.

The weather remains warm, but not overly humid. Looks like we will have a dry visit to the coast if the weather service information is correct.
This traveling morning has dawned here in the capital of North Carolina at 73 degrees.
Well, have a Sensational Saturday, Folks.
Our Edge will be filling in tomorrow morning to see everyone safely into single digits to the half-way Christmas Day marker and I shall see you guys bright and early here Monday morning.
(Well, not TOO early!)

I’m heading out soon to make a big food shopping trip. Back home afterward to do some cleaning and a couple of loads of laundry. I’ll also be cooking & prepping food later this evening for Father Day tomorrow. We’re going to grill burgers for dinner tonight. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a great weekend!!!

Heat index here is supposed to 110. It was so hot yesterday, but I got a lot done outside. Yard is done and I'm almost done watering it. About to head out and clean out our vehicles...gotta take the ladies to get their haircut around 9:30. Stay cool, friends!

We got rain! Yay!! Off and on all night it rained lightly and early this morning there was a nice downpour. There was rain puddled at the end of the driveway, but I'm not sure how the pond fared. It is getting humid out and the mosquitoes are very happy out that way so it is an area I avoid unless there is a good breeze out.
Stay cool & hydrated and be merry!

I’m already looking forward to fires in cooler weather. We’re having one tonight!
We have woods surrounding us and a lot of bats, so the bugs get balanced out lol.

Good morning! Lazy morning here. The kids were exhausted from the sun yesterday. We’re headed to do a picnic lunch and hit up the local spray park for a little while. We’re going to have a fire and cook out tonight.

Hello all.
It is hot today! And no I do not like it.
A good start to the day though. We went to breakfast at a local family owned restaurant called Buffalo Jacks. It was great! Then we went to the downtown farmer's market and picked up a couple of things.
Tomorrow we are having my dad and my wife's dad over for a cookout for Father's Day. Though besides cooking outside, we will probably stay inside to eat and talk. My dad hates the heat as much as I do and my father-in-law takes medication which makes him sensitive to the heat.
Time to get some writing done. Everyone have a great day!

Back home after taking Loki to the dog park. We usually take him to the large dogs area because there's more room for him to run and he usually likes big dogs. But today we went into the small dogs play area and he had plenty of fun with 2 Beagles and a crazy hyper 4-month old Goldendoodle. She was running all over and very friendly and so sweet and soft. That is my fave new breed of dogs. The Beagles were after Loki's ball but they were so well-behaved and wouldn't touch it until I said it was ok. It felt so good being outside in the sun but just like for Loki, I think I may need a nap soon.
Good evening! It’s been a relaxing day. Getting to have a campfire and a nice evening in our backyard with the kids. Hope you all have a great evening!
Good Morning fans of the Christmas Countdown! And we all love it and get excited for it even through the 1st half of the count each year. However, when we reach the "Halfway" point and begin sliding downhill the fun really turns up. Guess what? We're VERY close to that point now. How close you ask? Let's take a look.

The Halfway point to Christmas Day is now SINGLE DIGITS away! How about something else I noticed this morning...we are now closer to 100 days than 200 days till the Christmas Season. YIKES! Can you imagine in 7 weeks when reach that and head to DOUBLE DIGITS? Too scary. We need Crown back to calm us down (or get us more excited).
Have a great Sunday everyone as the heat begins turning up in the Northeast. And Crown should be back here on Monday to greet you with the count to start the week!

Happy Father's day to all the people who were fathers to someone, biological or otherwise. The sourdough turned out okay. The crust is a little darker than I would like. I'm going to try again, but turn the heat down a little. I actually don't mind a darker crust because I think it adds more flavour, but some may disagree. Going out for lunch with the family and FIL and then having friends over in the afternoon. Keep cool everyone and have a wonderful Sunday.
