Christmas Countdown - 2018

So, we did get some rain yesterday, but it didn't stick around long. I was expecting more of a lazy shower for the few hours, but it was more like a deluge for twenty minutes. Better than nothing. It didn't really cool things off any though. Sometimes I put on a Christmas movie to a least have the feeling of cooler temperatures. And it's not even summer yet.

Mealwhile we're off to visit my sister in a few days so we're trying to clean out the fridge of all the perishables. Maybe we'll take some on the road with us. Doing the old fashioned road trip vacation this year.

Keep cool everyone. Make some Jack Frost cocktails!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!
It’s going to be warm & humid today, highs near 87. I just went to do a load of laundry and found a puddle in front of the washing machine. I hope my husband can figure out what’s wrong and fix it. Not too much going on here today. I have a neurologist appointment this morning, just a routine yearly visit for those annoying headaches & migraines. Other than that I will be working on some chores around the house. Dinner will be tacos. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a merry day!

I just got back from a scheduled visit with my cardiologist. He says it looks like I'm going to make it LOL.

It was 97°F with no breeze. Woof.

Hello everyone! (As I typed that I just realized I sounded like Aunt Bethany from Christmas Vacation when she walked in the room to greet the family hahaha!) It is so hot here I refuse to take a step outside all day! Our Father's Day get together went well; there are 8 grandchildren and we were able to get 7 out of the 8 together, which is nothing short of a miracle. I know my dad enjoyed it so that is all I cared about. He is very ill and seeing him like that yesterday really took a toll on me, but I am grateful for the day we had. Now I am back home and just trying to clean and rest. Having pancakes and maple chicken sausage for dinner; sometimes I just crave breakfast for dinner! Hope everyone has a great day!

Well, we made the nartional news in a bad way yesterday, when we hit a heat index figure of 102 in the afternoon.
Today is suposed to be just as bad if not worse, as the heat and humidity tighten their grip on us. Some relief is predicted for late in the week.
We are already up to 79 degrees this morning here in the capital city.

Good morning MMC!! Merry Tuesday!!

We got our tent put up last night over our patio. So thankful for helpful neighbors!! Some friends stopped in too! It was a fun night. I'm going to be exhausted by the time the festival starts on Friday. LOL!! Our neighborhood is buzzing with anticipation!

Just work for me today & then I need to get on top of cleaning the inside of the house! Pre-party at our house tomorrow night, then at neighbors house Thursday night...then it's time for the festival! I made a big bag of snack mix last night. Tonight I'm making a jalapeno dip. (or maybe I'll do that at lunch?!) Need to get BACK to the store to buy lemons for lemonade shake up! (Can't believe I forgot them last night!)

Anyway.... you all have a GREAT day!!! We have sunshine now, but a chance of storms all day & night! I'm ok with that - we need rain! (but no bad storms!)

Good afternoon! Got my run in and now I’m just trying to cool off. DH is cooking on the girl before I have to take DD to baton. We’re having steaks, baked potatoes, and fresh mixed veggies. I can’t wait!

Oh man! I've been craving a good steak on the "girl" LOL!! Hubby has been working so late recently, I don't want to eat steak at 10pm! Hope they were delish! Have a great Tuesday!

Morning MMC! Boy it was hot yesterday! Still warm and humid today but not as extreme. Rollins acted extra crazy with the heat and then would lay out from being exhausted. Kept him in the a/c the whole time. What would people do without a/c? We're spoiled. My brother went back to San Diego and things getting back to normal. Have a great day!

We are spoiled!! But I'm ok with that! It's why we work, right - pay for that heat & AC! Have a great day Edge! Hope your brother had uneventful travels!

We started our summer Vacation Bible School last night, and it went well. Nancy found directions to make a "water blob" on Pinterest, and it worked pretty good. The kids had a blast jumping on it!
