Hello all.

Yesterday we went to the Blues Festival, it was a lot of fun. Smaller than I expected but still a good time. Really good food!
The main attraction was Samantha Fish, a young blues artist who has 5 albums out. I think it is 5 anyway.
She was really good, though the sound was not great in the big barn, but she put on a good show and did autographs and pictures afterwards. My dad is a big fan and got her autograph and got to take a picture with her.

I just finished another chapter of my thesis. I need to go back and do some editing on a previous chapter, but things are moving along nicely. I will probably have two, maybe three, more chapters plus the conclusion.

Today is Nathan's last day at home before he leaves for the Army. We will drop him off around 11:30 tomorrow morning and will probably not see him until Christmas time. We will get to talk to him a couple of times on the phone and we will write to him regularly.

We had an interesting conversation the other evening. He was finally realizing that he was becoming an adult and going to be on his own. He started asking questions like, "so when you're an adult and out of the house, how do birthday's work?" "How will Christmases work when I am an stationed somewhere far away?" It was a good conversation and nice to see he is thinking about how things will be different.

Well, everyone have a great Sunday!
Glad things are going well with your thesis, ITP.

Prayers for Nathan! Please thank him for his service, we will keep him and your family in our thoughts.

Off to a quiet start this morning, working on my 2nd cup of coffee and chilling on the couch surfing thru QVC and Amazon looking for things.
Last night, we went to another town and while we were there we stopped at a PetSmart to pick up a few items for our kitties. While inside a bad thunderstorm went right over the store and it was just pouring outside. So, we browsed around and then went over to their adoption area.

Ohhhh, my goodness, they kittens galore. They were all so darn cute. We couldn’t resist....
Yup, we submitted paperwork to apply to adopt one of them. We fell in love with 2 of them, but decided to try and adopt just one of them. Here’s a couple of pictures:

So cute!!!

Morning MMC! Back to work after 4 days off. It sure was a nice break. Luckily I have another break the same in a little over 3 weeks. For now, just back to normal. Definitely feel I got a good amount of rest in while getting other stuff caught up on. Hope you all enjoy your next to last day of July!

Good New Week Morning, Friends.
And of course, new weeks bring new count numbers.
That happens every day but somehow it's a little different when a new week begins.

So, with that in mind, let's analyze the latest figures:
Days to the Season: 106
Days to Christmas Day: 148

And after a full analysis, we can also conclude that the 100-Day Season Milestone marker is now UNDER A WEEK away!
A bare Six days.
(We are just racing along to the first of our double-digit count numbers!)

More rain yesterday, especially in the early evening.
The weather service continues to predicted an extended wet spell and today is no exception, with our rain chance shown at 80 percent.
We are currently under overcast skies with a temperature reading of 73.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everybody.
I hope this new week finds you healthy and happy!

Thanks Crown! Hard to believe it's the next to last day of July already!

Morning all. Had fun camping on the weekend. Now it's time to clean off the layers of grime. Already done a load of laundry and now have to organize the rest of the stuff. I can hardly believe it's less than a week 'til we break the 100 day mark. Picking up the pooch today to. Missed him, but the place we were camping only allows service dogs.

Merry Monday MMC!
It’s going to be a beautiful day with a high of 80 degrees. I just dropped Rocky off at the groomer. I’m going to have a quick bite to eat & a cup of coffee. I’ll be heading back to get him soon, he’s only there for an hour. I don’t have too much planned for today, I’ll be working on the laundry and hanging out by the pool. I’m going to grill marinated chicken later tonight for dinner, with a pasta salad and corn on the cob as well. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx

Happy Monday to everyone!

The weather is beautiful here, but I can't get rid of a headache that started yesterday evening. I hope it isn't an unusually busy workday!

Looking ahead and dreaming about when to schedule my remaining vacation days ... I usually use a few between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I also like one or two in October.

And just like that it was gone.

So long Hallmark Christmas in July. Your cold winter scenes and unending love stories have been a welcome respite in this inferno of a summer.

We shall brave the next 88 days knowing that you will return to spread the Christmas cheer before the pumpkins appear on All Hallows’ eve.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

It was another hot, humid weekend, but I managed to get the yard cut, and all the edging and string-trimming done. It's hard work in that humidity, but I sure am proud of it after it's done.

Elizabeth has thrown herself into both the next community theater production, and her school's One-Act Play competition. She's also volunteered me as a set builder for One-Act. I don't have a single bone in my body that says "carpenter", but I'll give it a whirl.

Jacob is trying to get moved from home into an apartment with some friends. Nancy is UNhappy. I'm not looking forward to him finally leaving home, but I understand why he wants to.

He and my brother and I did shoot some sporting clays yesterday afternoon, and that was fun!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good morning MMC!! "Merry" Monday!!! How is it always so possible that weekends can go SO fast??? We had such a fun CIJ weekend! In the white elephant exchange I got a really cute snowman, a cute Christmas kitchen towel & 2 lottery tickets in which I won $20! :) All of us got this t-shirt from a neighbor lady...Love it! ♥

Today is a typical day of work for me. I've got some laundry in the washer I was going to hang on the line, but radar looks like rain is coming! It would be such an awesome day to be at home under a blankey watching Hallmark Christmas. So bummed the CIJ movies are over, but was really surprised to have them for an extra day! Thanks Hallmark!!
+m

Everyone, have a great day!!!!

I forgot to mention, Lulu got herself in a bit of trouble last night. She destroyed a whole 6-roll pack of Charmin in the bathroom! LOL I don't know what she was thinking, but Nancy flipped out. Lulu spent the night in the mud room!
This made me laugh out loud! Poor Lulu!! She didn't mean to do it, mom!!!!! Funny creatures!!!

Thanks a bunch!!
I’m sure it will be amazing!! :)
Thank you, same to you lady ♥️
Love the tree in the pic! :tree:
And I have plenty of leftover turkey for you. It was delish!!! :D

Good Afternoon, friends!!

It’s been a crazy morning here~ So glad that this work week is almost over. I need a break.

Jazzie was sick again this morning. Adrian slept in the living room with her so I could get some better sleep.
My parents are nearby, visiting a friend. They will be at the house by the time I get home from work. It’ll be great to see them, and hear about their trip.

What are your weekend plans?

We are catching up with Mom & Dad tonight, making dinner at the house. Tomorrow night, we are taking them out to dinner to celebrate their 50th anniversary. And then if it’s nice, take the girls for a walk down by the river. They haven’t seen the new park since it’s been completed.
Sunday will be a day of catching up around the house.

That’s about it for me, going to go grab some lunch and head back to the office for a few hours.

Hope you all have a beautiful weekend!!

Glad to hear your parents had a great trip & I hope both poochers are feeling better!!! xx

Oh, I'm a sucker for the face she makes when I'm in my recliner. She puts her face between the cushions and makes her eyes as big as she can. LOL, she knows what she's doing!
Soooooooo sweet!!! ♥

Hope everyone is having a great Friday evening. Not too much on tap for the weekend, which is just the way I like it! Making baked lemon pepper cod and baked potatoes for dinner. We are going to break out the smoker and smoke two large pork shoulders Sunday. Then we food save them into meal sized packages and into the freezer they go! I love having the option of smoked pork sandwiches in the winter time!! Hope everyone has a great Friday night!
Everything is so good in the smoker!! Great plan to make & freeze ahead! Hope you had a great weekend!

Here are a few pics of the girls weekend getaway at our lake home!!

She may have learned a new habit or 2....

This is the look of a dog that’s getting ready to bolt out the door as you try to leave and run around the neighborhood for an hour in the pouring rain. I should have seen it in her eyes. No more stopping by my aunts house and taking her for walks for awhile. She’s grounded.
