We have our work social tonight (didn't have one at Christmas).

The theme is black, white and BLING.

I prefer parades and parties without themes, to be honest.

I have a classy pair of black dress pants with faux leather wide strip running from the hips to the knee on both sides.
I have a white blouse to wear under a long black top.
Silver mesh gloves, silver and black beads (look like pearls, but they're more like Mardi gras beads and for the big BLING keeping me unique from the others is a rich gold cape. Might go back for the white shaggy leggings I spotted. Gotta be me; haha.

Running a few errands and hoping to grab a nap before the social.

No rain yet - I heard a snowmobile when I first logged-on to the site; they aren't supposed to ride in the city.

I guess someone else heard it and reported it because it stopped 10 minutes ago. Maybe it was from the body shop nearby and they were testing out the repair job. If it was on the far side of the park like my ears were telling me, there would be a ticket (at least) for the operator.

For those of you who are sick or have loved ones going through stuff, you are in my thoughts for sure.

:ornarment Keep a merry thought in your head -surprise-

Hope you have fun and enjoy!

Good evening all! What a beautiful vacation I had. It was so nice to be away for a week, but so glad to be back with my kids and pups. It's good to be all caught up here again - know that I am keeping all of you in prayer that need it, wish you all good health, and hope that you're all having a great weekend so far! DH and I are just relaxing, watching the Penguins vs. Flyers hockey game.

So glad that you could get away and enjoy the sun and sea.

Happy 10 Months till Christmas Eve MMC! I can't believe it's been 2 months since my favorite day of the entire year already. But also it does seem like a while ago now. Still doesn't seem like that was 2 months ago, however. Anyway, we had a rainstorm overnight leading into a windstorm for today and tomorrow. Hopefully nothing too terrible happens with the high winds. Have a great Sunday!

Good Sunday morning! Rain/freezing rain/melting snow is what we'll endure all day today, with strong winds by mid-afternoon. This is my last day of staycation and it has not been restful, so I'll take another week off in March. At least I'm not worried about David being alone while I'm at work. He's now able to do most things with his arm in a sling except cooking but I'll prepare some meals today so we'll be both set for the next few days. Once I get the chores out of the way this morning, we'll spend the day watching movies (maybe try to get in Oscar-nominated films since the ceremony is tonight). Have a great Sunday everyone!

Good Morning, March Approachers!
And just as we approach the third month of the year, we also approach our third Milestone, an important one, about which we will discuss after the current numbers have been released.

Here they are:
Days to the Season: 262
Days to Christmas Day: 304

As stated above, our next marker is number three on the chart. It is the 300-Day Christmas Day Window of course.
And it stands now barely over HALF a week up ahead, on the last day of February. (So close you could touch it with a short Christmas tree.)

Rain, rain and more rain pretty much described all day yesterday, with the chilly temps to match.
Today however, is supposed to see us warm all they way up near 70, but the precipitation will continue, with a high wind warning for this afternoon.
We are quite overcast and wet here this morning and observe a temperature reading of 47 degrees.

Have a Super Sunday, Everybody!

I'm glad you had a great time on your vacation; it's always nice to get back to the comforts of home - for me that includes my pillow.

We are getting the icy pellets today, but there are a few fluffy flakes mixed in - actually had a warning from the local Hydro regarding the possibility of downed power lines and/or power outages due to the strong winds later today and into tomorrow.
We usually get our warnings from the Weather Network or Ministry of Transportation - getting them from Hydro is not a good sign, but I hope it goes well and nothing bad comes of it. I remember a terrible ice storm and black out several years ago and although I should have had other concerns at the time, I was worried about my crops on Farmville (FB game) and who will milk the cows at the nearby farms since their automated milking system wouldn't work.

I should have been more concerned about people and property, I suppose; my priorities were a bit off.

Hope the winds and storm in your area don't prove hazardous.

And the first sirens are blaring in the distance as I type this message.

Enjoy the last day off. Glad to hear David is coming along well enough to be alone! Continued prayers for healing.

He seems to be quick at healing; I know you'll feel better about leaving him since he can do things on his own.

Thank you and you're so right - I look forward to sleeping in my bed and my head on my own pillow!

Good morning ~
It’s raining here but it’s supposed to taper off by mid day. I’m just curled up on the couch and I’m having my coffee. I already straightened up and started laundry. I’m going to clean the floors soon. I have a couple of errands but they can really wait until tomorrow, I’ll probably just visit my parents at some point. Dinner will be spaghetti & meatballs. That’s about it. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

Good morning, MMC! Not too much on the agenda for today. DH is at work, so I we can't make church or Sunday school, so I have no way of getting kids there this am (since I can't drive). Not rushing it, but I'll be happy when July is here for that reason. I have some bananas that need used up, so I'm going to make some banana nut bread. I also saw it's national dog biscuit day, so I am going to give it a whirl and for the first time, make the dogs homemade treats. I bake really well, but have never made them anything from scratch before. Hopefully it goes well!

We're to get the high wind too - so hopefully we don't lose power either or nothing bad here happens, but at least we do have a fire place for some heat and lots of candles for light. Praying for everyone in the path - thinking of you and may you stay safe! Try to check in at some point when you can, so we all know your safe - I know it's going to affect a widespread bunch!

Hope you all have a great Sunday and enjoy!

Good morning all.

Wow the wind is blowing outside! Luckily we are not experiencing any power outages yet. The heavy winds started last night and will finally start to slow down later today.

We watched Bohemian Rhapsody (the Queen biopic) last night. I am a pretty big Queen fan and I wanted to see it in the theatre but just did not get there. Anyway, it was a really good movie overall. The casting was outstanding. There are a few major differences between the movie and real events. That is something that always bothers me about Hollywood. I wish they would stay closer to the truth on biopics and historical movies. I think the truth is always more interesting than anything Hollywood writers and directors can think up. But, again, it was a good movie.

Not too much on the agenda today, just the normal Sunday get ready for the week type of day. I do have a Little League Football meeting this evening too, but that will only take a couple of hours.

Everyone have a great and wonderful Sunday!

I had a great time at our staff social last night.

My wardrobe changed when I went back to the Party Store.

Wound up wearing silver satin-like pants with yellow (and gold tinsel strands) fluffy leggings, a black top which I pinned my gold cape to and the mardi gras beads (black, gold and silver) and as I lacked something white, I borrowed my husband's white hat with black felt around it - a summer feel to it. Some people saw Abba, a few saw Cher, but they all saw the BLING and loved it.

I danced most of the night and had the best time out with the work gang in many years. I thought I would fall asleep right away, but sat up with the cat for a bit and tried to sleep, but it didn't take hold until about 2:30.

The location was the same place we had my mother's special gathering to celebrate her life; it was nice to be able to return for a different purpose.

When I was dancing and singing along to Abba's Take a Chance on Me, I swear I could feel mom watching and suggesting I sing softly - but I belted out the lyrics along with a few of my chums.

The best was when 5 of us sang along and pretty much acted out Bohemian Rhapsody with so much playful drama - I think we rocked it and Freddy Mercury would have approved.

Stuck in the house today due to the weather, but I grabbed enough groceries yesterday to get us through the week.

Making fish chowder with crabmeat for dinner.

Stay Jolly! +b Stay Safe! :bundleup

Glad to hear you guys had such a wonderful time!

Good morning! Hope everyone here had a great week. It was another busy, basketball filled week for me. We didn't fare too well, but our state tournament is this week. Hopefully, we can pull it together and do ok.

Today, we are going to take it easy and be lazy. I'm going to pick the house and truck up, then we are just going to sit and watch movies with the girls. The temp is above 50 and sunny, so maybe some of ground will dry out. We have received about 14 inches in the past 2.5 weeks. Ready for some dry weather!
