Quick in and quick out.

Off to spend the day with my husband in the hospital. My dad will pop up for a visit and #1 son and his wife are coming up later today.

He was in a pretty tough situation on Wednesday morning so I had to call 911 and he wound up spending the night in the ER because there were no beds available to admit him properly; finally got his room at 2:30 yesterday.

They suspect colitis and today we'll find out if they're removing the notion of a colonoscopy. At least we know why he's been feeling unwell and losing so much weight and not wanting to eat.

Sorry, I missed the milestone day. I was thinking of y'all because I passed by a row of houses with blue lights running up their banisters and the house between them had multi-coloured lights draped around their big pines on the front lawn.

He is not a good patient; yesterday he pulled his IV out and tried to escape while I was at workshop so today I'm sticking around so he can't bolt.
I told him eating and getting well was his ticket out.

When I got home around 8:00 last night, O'Malley was looking for Gary. He checked our bedroom and then tapped the door to the storage room; I said, "He's not in there." He was so sweet looking for his "big daddy cat". I've been camping out on the living room floor on a single mattress until I can replace the queen size one in our bedroom this weekend. O'Malley is sleeping on it when I'm not here, but hasn't joined me yet his bed is close by though. I'll never get the smell of blood out of that mattress so I must replace it which is fine because we should have gotten a new one two years ago anyway.

Also, today would have been my mom's 78th birthday and I miss our visits dearly, but glad that she isn't suffering anymore.

Listening to some merry jazz while I'm getting ready to go to the hospital.

Keep a merry thought in your head and an extra one for my husband.

I hope your husband is being well taken care of and that his condition improves quickly so he can go home soon.

Good Friday morning, Christmas friends!

It has been a difficult week. Nancy's mom passed away Monday afternoon in Hospice care. Bless her heart, she was in such pain, and finally had to be sedated constantly. Nancy and her dad are having a hard time, too, so I'd appreciate prayers and positive thoughts for them.

On a bright note, the surgeon who will be operating on my mom said her tumor is very small and should be easily removed and treated! Thank you, Lord! We'll do that in a couple weeks.

I hope y'all have a great day! :)
I’m very sorry for your mother-in-law’s passing. Warm thoughts sent to your wife, her father and your entire family.

Oh Auntie I’m so sorry to hear this. Prayers going up for Gary and you. May things return to normal very soon.

Happy March MMC! I call today the "Day of Hope" because spring is coming although winter looks to be going out with a bit of a bang after a pretty tame winter. We had an inch of snow the other night and another 1-2 last night. Now they're saying tonight through Saturday morning maybe 3-6 more inches. And then Sunday into Monday might be more snow. Hopefully spring will arrive on time though which the weather guy is saying will happen this year. Don't want to be freezing and snowing in the 2nd half of March into April like the last several years. Have a great TGIF!
We are in the midst of a 3 - 4 inch, all day snow event. Gotta keep looking for Spring even as we are down to six months from the "Bers".

Thank you everyone; I really appreciate it. He had my dad and our oldest son and his wife visit today and that helped passed the time. I was able to speak with our doctor today and he likely won't get out until Tuesday. The Gastroenterologist has yet to stop by to chat about the possibility of performing a colonoscopy; they may do another CT scan first. If they suspect a polyp; they'll remove it; if it is cancerous, he's too weak to do anything about it. They are also considering an infection from food poisoning, testing stool samples; we've been eating the same foods and I am totally fine, but then again his immune system is weaker than mine. He lost about 10 lbs in two weeks.

Once he's released, I might be able to talk him into accepting home care twice a week until he's more stable and able; it will reduce my stress from worry and give him a bit of company at the same time. Work is being supportive because I rarely take sick days for myself and they know I don't shirk from work so if I need the time; we'll figure it out.

Over the weekend, I'll have to do some cleaning around here between hospital visits so we can have comfortable space for any visitors. We might look into a panic button and provide a key to a trustworthy neighbour for emergencies when I'm out of town (no more than twice a month). (In case he has a fall and I can't get to him.)

Your thoughts and prayers are truly appreciated.

I always have time for warm thoughts and prayers for everyone here and at times like these, I add extra personal messages. I'm beginning to understand that love, grief and memories continue long after the initial shock and loss of a love one passes.
And that is wonderful news for your mom.

Greetings and Salutations my merry friends

Yesterday my car indicated it was -4 outside and this morning it is only -7; we haven't seen low temps like this in quite some time, but the wind gusts are making it feel chilly in here this morning, but it's only -13 with the windchill so not too bad considering we haven't seen temps better than -14 in along time.

Going to be snowing today. Uggh!

O'Malley crept up along the mattress on the living room floor that I was sleeping on to wake me up because it was after 5:00. His internal clock doesn't respect my weekend wish to sleep in a bit.

Oh well, already showered and took care of his breakfast needs.

He'll be on top of that bed before I finish my visit at MMC.

#1 son and his wife couldn't believe the height of our snowbanks; they've been hit hard over the winter in Ottawa, but our removal hasn't been kept up as well as theirs.

Stay Jolly!

Merry Saturday MMC ~
It’s snowing here this morning, I’m just having a cup of coffee and enjoying the peace and quiet. My husband had to be on a job site early this morning so I was up early with him. I don’t have too much planned for today, I just have to go food shopping at some point. We will be catching up with some shows later tonight. That’s about it. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning, Double-200 Counters.

In case you missed it yesterday, our Christmas Day count slipped below the 300 mark and now BOTH of our count numbers start with a "2".

OK, that marker has passed. Whats' next, you might ask. Well, I'll tell you.
After this:
Days to the Season: 256
Days to Christmas Day: 298

Our next approaching Milestone, believe it or not, is the ONE-THIRD point to the Season, and it will be here in LESS than two weeks.
13 days, to be exact.
(How about that, now!)

Chilly and rainy yesterday, just as the weather service predicted.
Now today, they call for a high of 60, with only a 10 percent chance of precipitation.
(A welcomed change!)
Our temperature reading is 45 degrees here at this hour.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everybody.
Enjoy your weekend.

Happy Saturday...I am having coffee and it is still snowing. We have about 3 inches so far and it’s still snowing. My daughter has a soccer game tonight and that is about it. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning all. Hope you all have a great day! I work this weekend, so that is my plans. Looks like we have 3-6 inches of snow headed our way tomorrow night. Praying for you all!
