Happy Mother's Day MMC! A rainy chilly one here! What else is new as it seems to do that every Sunday. At least Saturday was a beautiful day. Having dinner and an ice cream cake for my mom today. Hope you all have a great and special Mother's Day!

Good morning and Happy Mother’s Day MMC ~
It’s going to be a cloudy, cool and rainy day, not sure if we’ll even get out of the 40’’s today. I’m just having my coffee and relaxing for a bit. It’s been a nice weekend so far. My wedding anniversary was yesterday, we celebrated 29 years. Where does the time go?! My husband and I went out for dinner last night at our favorite Italian restaurant. We’ll be at home today, my parents are coming for dinner and of course my girls will be here as well.

The second one I went to didn't even have a Firehall or a community centre; they were meeting outdoors at the boat launch area. That is a small reserve compared to the other one and they only had one picnic table there. I started hauling stuff out of my car and a woman whom I'd asked directions of along the road had reached the spot with her young daughter. She yelled out to the mere dozen people filling sand bags while two other vehicles were ready to deliver some to the residents. She informed them that I was dropping stuff off for them to eat and drink; I also thought to bring napkins and hand sanitizer. After I unloaded everything and was getting back in my car, they yelled, "Thank you, wonderful lady." If my health was better, I would have stayed and helped stuff the sand bags.

A friend of mine who was on duty, but not assigned to my husband's care had her home damaged already by the floods and a co-worker is bracing for impact.

There are flood warnings for my city, but we have 56 thousand people living here so I wasn't as worried about helping out here as I was about getting to some people who are more isolated and experiencing a rush on their emergency situation.

This is the worst since about '79. It's supposed to be sunny again tomorrow - so three days of sun could help although they're calling for rain on Monday and Tuesday.

Nice out there today, a bit cool, but the sun is warm so it fools you.

After my deliveries, I came home for half an hour to check on O'Malley and then I got my car washed as a donation to the Women's Shelter. There are a few stains they couldn't get off from sap from the pine tree that oozed onto my car. The real car wash will take care of that in a few weeks.

After that I headed to the mall and treated myself to three new tops and a pair of pale green capris.

Last night, I almost went to the hospital because I was feeling so awful before bed, but I held off and today my symptoms were a bit more subdued.

I have some laundry to drop off tomorrow and then going over to my dad's for a visit.

Sure hope I can go back to work on Monday. If I feel like I do today, I can pull it off.

Good morning and Happy Mother’s Day, MMC to all who play a mother role in someone’s life. I’m working today, but I came home last night from work and DH and the kids had surprised me with flowers and a few gifts, some of them being homemade, as well as a nice dinner. It was very nice and I really enjoyed it!

I hope you all have a blessed Sunday and are able to enjoyed some family time today!

And one cannot be blamed for being excited as we close in on perhaps our number one Milestone of the year.

Days to Christmas Day: 227

That all-important marker is, of course, the HALF-WAY point to the Season, and its distance into the future is now only THREE days.
UNDER half a week ahead!
(We have come so far so fast, Folks.)

Well, the predicted rain came yesterday but it was not hard and there were no severe weather watches issued. It was a bit cooler, too.
Today shows a continuation of the rain predictions and we have a light sprinkle falling as this is typed.
Our current temperature reading? That's 68 degrees.

Good Sunday morning! I feel like all the energy was zapped out of me after working 6 straight days and working in the backstore for most of the day yesterday in the absence of my colleague (he called me yesterday and is doing really well despite the annoyance and pain from his Bells palsy). I have to say that it’s after work weeks like these that I know I’m not young anymore, as my body does not recuperate quickly anymore.

The sun looks like it wants to come out. After some errands, we’ll go for a nice long walk to try and get back some energy. David did a lot of cleaning up at home yesterday, so thankful for that as I won’t have any to do today. Hope everyone is doing well and have a great day!

29 years - wonderful. I'm an Italian at heart, but for our Anniversary we usually wound up with Chinese or Turkey because it falls around the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

Well, off to a slow start, but heading out to drop the laundry off and go for a drive to the old neighbourhood to share a special moment with my mom and then hopefully, I'm well enough to go to my dad's for a visit.

We're going away next weekend so if I miss him today, I'll have time with him in the car soon enough.

Number 1 son already sent a text for a Happy Mother's Day and Daughter-in-law sent a message to me on FB.

Guess their phones don't work the same way the traditional ones do - haha - kidding - it was sweet of them to think of me.
