Good Morning, Weekend Thresholders!

Yes, we find ourselves again at the doorstep of another weekend, AKA Weekend Eve.
But before we consider end-of-the-week plans, we must deal with today's count and the status of our most important upcoming Milestone marker.

The numbers:
Days to the Season: 187
Days to Christmas Day: 229

There are five - count 'em - FIVE days separating us now from the HALF WAY point to Christmas Season 2019!
(Amazing, isn't it?)

Another stellar day here yesterday, and today should be quite nice too, before rain moves in to wash out our weekend.
Our starting thermometer reading this morning is 67 degrees and we should climb into the low 80's by this afternoon.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And I hope your weekend commences on a highly positive note this afternoon!

Thanks Crown! Happy 5 and 10!

Good Friday morning! It will be nothing but rain and a risk of thunderstorms this afternoon. Though the skies are grey, I’m looking out the window and seeing much more leaves on trees and all the greenery is making me happy.

I’m also glad to have the day off after a tough day at work when I had major lower back pains. It came out of nowhere and I had so much trouble getting around, it made for a loooooong day. That’s never happened to me, no clue why. It’s a tiny bit sore this morning but manageable. So I’ll be taking it easy today.

Wishing everyone a great day ahead!

I’m glad you’re feeling better Martine, praying you’re back to feeling 100% soon. Hope you enjoy your day off.
xx

Merry Friday MMC ~
It’s going to be cloudy today with scattered showers this afternoon, highs near 66 degrees. I already straightened up the house and started laundry. I’m going to clean the floors after I finish my cup of coffee. Then I’ll go for a walk with Rocky. I have to make a Target run later and I’ll stop at the butcher afterward. I think that’s about it. Oh and dinner will be roasted chicken with baked macaroni & cheese and a salad. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!
xx

Good reason to relax and unwind with some Christmas flicks or music.
Feel better soon!

Hello Friday; hilli-ho merry chums +a

The rain has stopped briefly, but expected to pick up soon.

Four nearby communities have declared a state of emergency for their floods; we are still on alert in my area.

The creek is running fast, but still below 5" of the embankment.

The city added extra pipes along a stretch of road near the treatment plant and sandbags for homes along the water.

Since the ice has finally dispersed from the lake, a few guys took their boats out. Sure hope they don't wind up needing EMS support.

A few businesses and camp grounds have had a profound impact from the floods and year round homes and cottages at two reserves have water passed their homes to the road.

If I was healthier, I would be assisting them in setting up their sand bags.

All I can do is pray for them.

I was about to buy a cabin with a trailer attached to it (not in an area that is in the flood warning zone), but decided not to invest in it at this time.

Keep a merry thought in your head +g

Thinking of you all!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

Nancy and I were up pretty late last night, trying to get one of those online photo books ordered for Elizabeth's graduation. Then I got up very early this morning, working on it some more. *yawn*

I hope you moms have a great Mother's Day this weekend! :D

Its like being on a roller coaster .. The first half of the season we are slowing approaching that tall top peak and when that top is finally in view you can't help but to smile knowing that best part is coming (the downward ride to the best time of the year)

Good way of looking at it, Minta. I like the way you think!

What I hoped would have been a relaxing day off turned into an emergency request to come into work to cover for a coworker who was rushed to the hospital. He came in at 12:30 with his face half-paralyzed and slurring his words. The team immediately feared a stroke so they called the ambulance right away, and then they called me to ask if I could cover his shift. The first nurses who saw him at triage ruled out a stroke thankfully, but told him it was probably Bells palsy, which was confirmed later. He texted me and is now on medication and wearing an eye patch/eye taped closed, but he seemed in good spirits (he's a very positive guy in nature). His father is currently undergoing treatments for cancer, he sure didn't need this extra worry. I know @Festive Spirit has dealt with Bells palsy and some of you have mentionned knowing people who have all succesfully recovered from this condition, so that makes me hopeful for him as well.

On a positive note, another coworker gave birth to a healthy cute-as-a-button baby boy weighing in at 8.25 pounds. So an emotional roller-coaster of a day to say the least.

Happy Mother's Day Weekend MMC! Unbelievable another step on our way back to the holiday season. Can't believe in 2 weeks it will be Memorial Day Weekend and we'll be on the summer road back to the Bers. Going for a little hike with my friend later and got some errands to do like a normal Saturday. Have a great Saturday!
