Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I have to leave for a few hours though lunch today. I'm going with mom to her first radiation treatment, just to make sure she's comfortable with it. Another local friend of hers is having the same treatment, and told her that it's a breeze. That really made mom feel a lot better about it.

Elizabeth is currently taking an A/P English exam, then she and her graduating class are leaving at lunch for two nights in Orlando at Disney. It still makes me nervous for her to travel that far without me, but college starts in a few months, so I guess I better start learning to let go. Ugh.:(

Anyhoo, we rescheduled our dinner with Jacob to tonight. I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Best wishes to your mom as she begins radiation! (Been there and done that.) Depending on the number of treatments, it can burn the skin over time. I recommend a cream called My Girls that was formulated especially for radiation-treated skin. It's very soothing and kept my skin in good shape! The techs/doctor should also give her some advice on treating the skin to keep it from becoming red and painful. Let me know if I can help.

Well ... the doctor sent me home today from work.

He suggested I not be there until the test results are in and also to give my body a rest. Not sure if I'm contagious; I told him I had already been back to work since last Thursday. The only results returned so far was blood work with one reading he didn't like, the others were normal for me.

Last Friday when I said my symptoms seemed to have disappeared after I dropped off the samples, well they returned that night and have continued since with 8-12 trips to the lieu a day. I just didn't want to go on and on about it.

I can understand why I have felt so exhausted by dinner time lately. I don't seem to have any other symptoms so the doctor is going to hook me up with a colonoscopy. Although I am an optimist; I immediately thought about all the problems my mom had and I'm having trouble turning off the worry machine.

Taking a dose of my own medicine ... :brr

trying to keep a merry thought in my head. :lightman

I'm an accomplished worrier, so I know what you're going through.

Sending prayers and merry thoughts to add to your own ... it may be as simple as your just needing a rest and a break to help you get back to normal. Please keep us posted.

Thanks for that, MC! :)

No one wants to go through any procedures or testing, but I am glad you are getting checked out. Praying for good results and hope that you soon start feeling better, Auntie! Please keep us updated!

Thanks, Meceka!

You're welcome!

Praying your mom's treatment goes well with no side effects and for safe travels for Elizabeth.

Fire up those Twinkies and let's see what Carl has stored in that third hump.

I heard Carl has some new dance moves to show us.

Praying for you right now Auntie.

Happy May Friday Eve MMC! We had a nice day on Wednesday but today should be cloudy and cooler. We're going to meet our ex co-worker after work for dinner tonight. We haven't seen her since we met up with her on Labor Day for breakfast. Rolling through a long week here and hope yours is going well. Have a great Friday Eve!

Merry Thursday ~
It’s going to be cloudy and a bit cooler today with a high of 55 degrees. I have an appointment to have blood drawn later this morning. I’m going for a physical next week so they will have the results when I go back. I’m dying for a cup of coffee right now and a bite to eat but I have to fast. Other than that it will be a typical day of errands and chores for me. Dinner will be meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!!!
xx

Hoping to tackle a half day at work today and tomorrow.

Expecting tons of rain and flood warnings in my area - I've been watching the creek and I think I'll be okay; it's the homes down by the lake that is connected to Georgian Bay that will be hit the worst. Sand bags and sand piles have been made available in a few filling spots.

A few communities East and South from here were hit pretty hard and had to declare a state of emergency.

I'm going shopping for a few things and grab some money to make sure I have what I need to hunker down if I must.

The O'cat needs more moist food so I'll get that done too.

I took Gravol last night instead of the sleeping pill the doctor prescribed and it worked somewhat to settle my stomach a bit.

Stay Jolly! -surprise-

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

My father-in-law is improving, thankfully. He hasn't really been sleeping since his wife passed away, and he's been kind of forgetful. They've met with two doctors who both agree that, at 83 years old, he simply needs some rest to keep his mind clear. He's been avoiding his sleep apnea machine lately, but he's been told that it's a must. Maybe he won't be too stubborn about it.

Elizabeth left for Orlando with her graduating class for a few days. Maybe they do that so we soon-to-be empty nest parents can start getting used to it.

I don't like it.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good Morning, Post-'Piners!
I hope you had a good time at our inn of choice yesterday evening and enjoyed the entertainment, Carl style. Not to mention those dependably tasty fired twinkies, washed down with the sweetest iced tea this side of heaven.

But onward, and downward, with our count:
Days to the Season: 188
Days to Christmas Day: 230

The HALF WAY marker to the Season?
Well, that's now LESS than a week away, at the 6 day point.
(Wow! The first half of our count really went fast this year, didn't it?)

Another geat day yesterday, which lent itself to lawn mowing and brush trimming, both of whicn I got out of the way before the rain comes, expected by the end of this week.
Today shows a predicted high in the low 80's with only a ten percent chance of precipitation.
Our present temperature reading here is 66 degrees.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everybody.
And get all geared up for Weekend Eve tomorrow!

Is she going to school in GA?

Thanks Crown! Hope your May is going awesome!

Good Thursday morning! It’s beautiful outside though a bit cold. Temperatures will warm up but rain will be moving in. I’m working the afternoon/evening shift and am just relaxing right now with Loki sleeping in my lap.

I went in to work an hour early yesterday as I was training new managers all day and wanted a bit of time to do my own work. I was greeted by our health and safety auditor, so let’s just say that my plans went out the window. We’d been waiting for 3 weeks now, as they told us we’d be amongst the first stores audited, so it was about time. It was stressful but we got a great score and it’s a relief that it’s done. Now to work on improving what wasn’t successful.

Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

Prayers for your Mom and hope Elizabeth has a great time in Orlando.

Thanks, SfM! Actually, she'll only be 30 minutes away at the same university her brother is attending. That's the silver lining. We can still see her on weekends!
