Days to the Season: 58
Days to Christmas Day: 100

And you read that second number correctly. We have in fact reached the One-Hundred Day Christmas Day Window and tomorrow, BOTH of our counts will consist of two digits.
(Fast times, they are a startin'!)

Still warm and humid as summer plays out its last gasps. Cooler weather and falling leaves will be here before you know it.
(And so will the Christmas Blossoms 2019 thread!!)
We are at 72 degrees here right now headed up to 88, but by Wednesday our highs will only be in the 70's.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

Like Made said, we might be sneaking up on Christmas, but it's supposed to be 98° tomorrow. I'm staying indoors and thinking merry thoughts!

MY BROTHER FIXED MY MOWER!! We finally put it together Saturday morning, and I mowed the lawn that afternoon. That boy is GOOD!

Bernie and I had another successful hunting trip later Saturday afternoon, too, so it was a great day!

Today is the end of Nancy's September 15th tax deadline, and we're celebrating with steaks tonight. Jacob and Elizabeth are both coming home for that.

Good Monday midday! I can't believe we are now 100 days to Christmas! You wouldn't know it from the weather outside though, Summer is making a comeback this week. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift and am currently looking online for a nice scrapbook album to put together a souvenir book for an employee who, after 4 years living in Canada with her two children, has learned that her refugee status was revoked and has to leave the country by late October. I am always in awe of people who show so much courage in leaving everything behind in trying to find a safer place to live. And then to find out 4 years later that you must go back must be heartbreaking. So I'd like her to have something to remember our team and our country. Time to get ready for work, have a great day everyone!

It must be so hard for her to prepare to leave. I'm surprised; I didn't think Canada was so quick to send people back. Nice of you to send her off with a souvenir and a friendly "farewell".

Thank you; O'Malley seemed a little better last night; he will make it to the Pines tomorrow.

His groomer suggested I try a liquid arthritic medicine mixed in with his food; perhaps there's a chance it could help him.

As long as I don't have to do pills or shots, he might go for it.

Good Merry Morning Happy Pines Eve!

No rain expected until Sunday; the mornings are cool, but the afternoons are looking at 20/68; felt warmer than that yesterday afternoon when I was dropping off SMILE cookies to various people like the crew at Enterprise, Between the Bun and The Sub Place; the lads at the fuel bar on the reserve where I usually get my gas because they only charge me one type of tax; I actually don't save money when I drop off treats for them, but I like going there and seeing their reactions to whatever I hand them out the driver's side window.

I also have SMILE cookies for the work gang except for one department who received a big tin of Christmas cookies last week.

The SMILE cookies are a fundraiser for our local Community Living who do great work with children, youth and adults diagnosed with physical and intellectual challenges.

Happy Final Week of Summer MMC! A nice day here expected. Monday really went fast but it always does for me as it's my busiest day at work. The weather looks dry here mostly all week and into the weekend with warmer temps (above normal for the weekend). Maybe summer will go out this weekend feeling like summer still. Have a great Final Week of Summer!
