Good Middle-of-the-Week Morning, Folks!
Feeling all 'Piney? Well I don't blame you.
I'm feeling a bit "Shispering" myself!

And this is sure to Shisper your Pines:
Days to Christmas Day: 14 (TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!)
Wowzersville!

Really was nice here yesterday, with temps in the low 70's, no rain, plenty of sun and not much in the way of wind. And, of course, no mosquitoes.
It was the best of times.
But the worst of times is yet to come. We will be down into the 20's by tonight!
This center week day commences here in the capital county at 42 degrees after another overnight rain.

Well, we are feeling 'Pineyesque for a good reason. Today is 'Pine's Day, of course. And since we are closing in on the Big Day, Carl and crew are going all out to be sure the Season is enjoyed by all to the fullest.
O'Malley will be there this evening and he and Carl will no doubt be cooking up something festive and seasonal to go along with those green and red frosted fired twinkies that are selling like hot cakes.
It is my understanding that "White Christmas" will be the movie offering in the inn's theater. One of my favorites.
Hope to see each and every one of you there with (Christmas) bells on!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone.
And a Magnificent Mid-Week as well!

Thanks Crown! Happy Mid-Week Mid-December!

Auntie Mistletoe glad you did not collide with that bus! Whew! Made, love all your decorations! Hope everyone who has been sick will recover before the holiday!

I still have Christmas cards and packages to do, so I'm getting a little worried because these last 2 weeks of work are going to be SO busy that I won't be able to get away during lunch like I usually do to run an errand or two. Plus Saturday is my annual Christmas lunch with my two closest bff's and it's at our house this year. I'm running out of time and feeling nervous! LOL

Good Wednesday morning! It was so warm and it rained all day Monday, so there’s barely any traces of snow left anywhere. But it got really cold overnight, so there’s ice. I can’t believe it’s already December 11th. It’s as if I’m missing days or something. Pretty much all my Christmas shopping is done and my buffet menu for when my family comes over in the 19th is set. We’re celebrating a bit early because my brother will be out of town over the Holidays. Just have some baking left for the treat boxes I give my family each year. Hope everyone will enjoy a great hump day!

That happened to me once with my friends parents; they invited me to Thanksgiving dinner once when I was living in Toronto and they lived in Kitchener. After that I kept them on my Christmas card list. They weren't relatives, but I was pleased that one of the daughters (not my friend) took the time to let me know they had both passed away.

The connection to Gloria must have felt like you lost her twice.
Yes, in a way. Gloria used to talk about this couple, and when we visited her before she passed in 2018 she mentioned that one was very ill.

Speaking of Gloria, the other day we found a box of penguin Christmas cards we had bought to send her, but didn't get the chance. Made me feel a little weepy ... also seeing penguin items when we were out shopping. We always bought penguins for Gloria, because in her first movie she wanted to join a girls' club called the Purple Order of Penguins. We once said to her, "You must be sick of us sending you penguins!" She said, "I LOVE the penguins!" So we love the penguins, too.

We had a few inches of nuisance snow this morning (we're still getting a few flurries). Driving wasn't hazardous, but it was slow. Gave me time to admire the branches and scenery coated in snow. The sky is cloudy and dim, so the scenery looked almost like an old-fashioned sepia-tone photo. Very pretty!

Happy Wednesday and Merry Christmas to all. It's a "nothing special" Wednesday here is SoCal. Sunny and dry still. 41 degrees on the way in this morning with a forecast of 68 later today.

I finally found a place that can replace the crystal in my watch. Hopefully the crystal itself won't be too expensive. Still struggling with what to get my wife for Christmas. We don't exchange gifts, but I always try to find something to tuck under the tree when she's not looking. Generally, if we want or need something during the year we just get it. Her tablet is 3 or 4 years old so maybe I'll replace it.

Tele-conference call with one of the branches this morning to go over their 2020 forecast and what needs to be done to stop losing money.

All else is good!!!

Enjoy!

Thank you; I recall my financial struggles in College so I feel like it's important to give to others so they don't feel the strain.

Not sure how I keep getting through work with this thing. The coughing fits are scarier for the people around me.

I can't let it slow me down or it will only get worse. We have our work holiday social on Friday and I plan on being there. Although my voice sounds like I swallowed a bunch of stones, my throat doesn't hurt so that's a bonus.

Have my merry outfit already picked out. Plus I'm getting my 30-year service recognition.

The 10.5 hours yesterday was a struggle, but I got through it and went to bed at 9:00.

Only woke up three times during the night with coughing fits.

I won't let it spoil my jolliness. +i

Hope you are better soon, Auntie! Try to get some rest!

Hello all.
Boy was today a long day at school. No particular reason, just felt like a long day.
This evening will be fun though. Henry and I are going to go Christmas shopping so he can get mom a couple of things. He is excited to go shopping for her. He really enjoys trying to find gifts for people.

Well, about time for a quick dinner and then off to shopping we go!
Everyone have a wonderful evening.

::wave
Hope you had a great shopping trip!!!

Good Tuesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

It's sunny and 82°F here...what?!? I think it's supposed to be a high of 60 tomorrow, but today is definitely Spring-like.

We're going out for Breakfast for Dinner with Santa this evening. Should be fun!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

This morning we had 19º feels like 9º BRRRRR! Frosty rooftops!

The mail was a bit eerie today. I got replies from a relative and a friend that I had sent Christmas cards to; both notes announced that the intended recipient had passed away. So sad to have two such notes in the same mail. One was a cousin, and one was a friend we knew through our friend Gloria (whom we lost last year).
(((HUGS))) That is sad!

This afternoon I took my brother and his wife to Bonefish Grill, their favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, their two adult daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren won't be coming for Christmas. This is the first full year they've lived in Florida.

This coming Monday I have surgery on my right eye (lens implant), then in two weeks my left eye. Because of pre-existing conditions, I won't be doing a traditional Christmas dinner. I was so sure one of their daughters would be coming down. I invited them over Thursday to see my decorations and we plan to go to a movie as soon as the first surgery is done.....if my vision is OK.

Tomorrow, I'm getting the condo cleaned so today I washed all the bedding and Ace's THREE beds, along with two full loads of clothes. I'll probably wake up before the cleaning service comes and make a quick trip to the grocery store to stock up on fruit, veggies, and other things I'll need for the coming week.

I also thought I might order an organic ham so after signing off I'll search the Internet. My brother loves ham and it would be good to have it near Christmas.

Best wishes for successful surgery & a speedy recovery!

Woke up to snow on the grass & trees, so school is out...; we live in a county that is half mountains, so any thought of bad weather closes school. Snow in the South! DD should have her last day of school for this semester on Friday, so let's get on with it!

I ordered two gifts this morning so I'm finished except for gift cards for nephew & nieces. I'm not in a hurry to get those.

DD had planned a sleep over for Friday night, but the girls decided to wait until winter break after Christmas so more of them could attend. I'm kinda glad- I wasn't looking forward to deep cleaning every night this week after working all day!

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

Another crazy-busy day is going on around me, so I'm feeling absent again.

We went to a Dinner with Santa last night with our niece and her two boys, and it was great! I love having breakfast food for dinner.

I'm not sure where I have to go tonight, but I'm sure I have to go somewhere.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

I love that cold, sepia look when it's snowy and overcast!

Sorry for your losses, and the way you discovered same...
