Happy Welcome to Winter and Christmas Weekend MMC! We made it to the biggest weekend of the year. It's an incredible feeling. I'm off these next 5 days right through Christmas. And I can feel the excitement everywhere I go. Some Christmas Eve grocery shopping today and Christmas wrapping/watching Christmas shows. Have a great Welcome to Winter and Christmas Weekend Saturday!

Good Morning, Final Pre-Christmas Weekenders!

Yes, 'tis true, 'tis true. This is the grand, final weekend before Christmas day. Last chance to get that shopping done and those gifts wrapped!

Days to Christmas Day: 4 (Now barely over HALF A WEEK left!)

Still chilly yesterday, but a bit warmer than Thursday was. It will remain coolish today and tomorrow before warmer weather moves in leading up to Christmas day.
Our present reading is 36 degrees under cloudy skies here in the mid part of the state.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone.
And really enjoy this last weekend before the Big Day!

For those who asked me a few days ago about the cubicle decoration contest that i participated in at my work, I won most creative, and got a 25 dollar visa gift card!

I really wasn't expecting to win anything, so i was really caught off guard when they announced me at the luncheon on Friday! Happy Saturday folks!

wow congrats...

Hope everyone is doing well. Last night was the Nutcracker Ballet for me and my husband which some of you know is one of my favorite traditions. Even though we are both still battling these lingering coughs we were not going to give up seeing the ballet. During the second act my husband said he had a headache and said he needed to walk a bit. I let him out and sat back down to watch. Minutes later, the usher is getting me. Apparently as my husband was walking up the center aisle he passed out and hit his face on the arm of the chair. I went running (as fast as I can with my cane!) there and he was face down with a bunch of people around him. When they turned him over all I saw was blood and I freaked out. They took us both by ambulance to hospital and he had bit almost completely through his bottom lip, so 6 stitches were needed. He has a black eye and various cuts and abrasions on his face. All scans and tests came back clear so they think maybe he got overheated and his blood pressure dropped. It was so scary. We didn't get out of the hospital till after midnight and then realized our car was still at the ballet so we had to wait for a cab and it was a big mess. While sitting in the ER waiting on him I realized all the stress of trying to create the perfect Christmas and buy the perfect gifts and bake the perfect stuff doesn't mean very much. All I cared about in that moment was brining him home and I have been glued to his side today. Last night made realize that saying is so true, "t is not what is under the tree it is who is around it." Other than being very sore and swollen he is doing ok. I am so grateful. I hope everyone has a great and safe evening!
Wow...how scary! I am glad he is ok. Prayers for you all!

Your husband is in my prayers. I'm so sorry this happened and it must have been so scary.

Thanks Crown! Christmas is almost upon us, still cant believe how fast it got here this year.

Evening MMC! Got a house full tonight and nobody can really believe its almost Christmas. I was telling everyone it seemed like it was just the 1st of Oct and we were discussing Christmas movies starting up and shopping. I might have said to much because I could almost see the desperation in their eyes due to the time going by so fast. Seems like it just gets worse every year for some reason.

Our house will start filling up tomorrow and stay that way through New Years. Family and friends galore. I spent most of today lounging around the house and enjoying the peace and quiet because it will be early January before I get to do that again.

Good 3-days-before-Christmas Sunday! I still can’t fathom how fast this month has gone by. We had my brother and father over last night for our Christmas get-together. As usual we made way too much food, but then we have our lunches done for the next few days. I tried a few new recipes that were a hit: spinach and artichoke dip bites in puff pastry, lasagne roll-ups and puff pastry pizza with cream cheese and a ton of grated veggies on top. David and I were totally beat by the time they left, he from cleaning the apartment all day and me from my work day. We went to bed early and woke up at 4:30am. Just relaxing now in the glow of the Christmas tree before getting ready for work this morning.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

well, it's been a crazy weekend and it's not over yet. We did pretty much all of our food shopping on Friday, we have some food on order which we will collect Monday evening. Between now and then I still have to wrap all of my presents, fit in a few christmas movies and still one day of work.

I feel so unprepared this year.. I guess it's the joys of being in a new home. Next year will be better!
