Sugar and Auntie. I too have now spent 12 Christmas without my beloved dad and 34 without my wonderful mother. Was it ever the same? No. It never has nor will it ever be. But the only constant in life is change. Each year I’m surrounded by the things and people they loved and for me, that is almost as good as the real thing. I focus on items that make the best memories. Trust me; with each passing Christmas, it gets easier though truly never the same. Love to all.
This will be my 15th Christmas without my mother and the 6th without my father. And no, it's never the same again. You just gradually get used to a new reality.

Good Morning, Eve'ers!!

"Christmas Eve".
Has a really merry sound, doesn't it?
And it means, of course, that tomorrow is Christmas Day!

Days to Christmas Day: 1 (TOMORROW!!)
'Nuf said!

Rainy all day yesterday with cool temps.
Predicted warmer today and dry.
Cooler again tomorrow, then warm for the remainder of the week.
Christmas Eve starts here in central NC at 46 degrees and it's nice and sunny.

Have a Terrific Tuesday and an Exciting Eve of Christmas, my Friends.
Now, get yourselves all geared up for tomorrow!

It was +4 yesterday when I walked over to the restaurant to meet my brother and his friend for dinner. My mid-season coat is still being used.

We barely have any snow, but there's enough to line dads side of the street where the snow is a bit cleaner than the other side where cars often park.

We're looking at 20-24 F today which makes for a nice evening. Some Christmases, it has been so chilly that it wasn't as enjoyable lighting the luminaries.

I'll take my camera for a stroll and grab a few photos of the homes lit up on the street and the luminaries.

I must hop in the shower; heading over for breakfast at dads with my bro and his chauffeur.

Stay Jolly!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Wow, this day got here in a hurry!
This is a my favorite day of the year. The anticipation of tomorrow morning is simply awesome. The marathon of Christmas movies/shows and music, tracking Santa, enjoying sitting around the house with the family, everything!

I am the first one up in the house this morning and have just been sitting here drinking some coffee and listening to Kringle Radio, and enjoying the moment. As I think of all of the small things I want to do today I just get a warm feeling inside. Thinking back to my childhood and how Christmas time felt then, I can say that I still have all of those same wonderful feelings about Christmas. That has never changed for me. I have always loved Christmas Eve more than any other day.

I hope everyone has a magical and wonderful day!

We hear you on that. I lost an aunt, uncle, and cousin this year, and we lost two good friends as well, just a couple months apart. You adjust, but it’s hard when you see a gift one of them would love for Christmas, and remember. I guess the remembering becomes our gift to them.

Good morning .. Taking a few minutes from my prep to enjoy my coffee and stop by here. Got the pies in the oven and got the shells for the stuffed shells for tomorrow dinner boiling. Will work on todays dinner a little later as we are not eating until 6 tonight. My oldest has to work this after so we are holding off dinner until she gets home from work. Hosting the family tonight for dinner, gift exchanges and ginger bread house building. I expect a lot of laughs and even more memories made. I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Have a great Christmas Eve!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve, MMC!!! How can we be this close already?? Mom has a pretty nasty cold so I might take her to the walk in clinic later today to make sure it hasn’t turned into bronchitis. She can’t afford to let it linger when she has surgery scheduled in 3 weeks. I need to run and get my aunts dog Ella some more treats for her stocking too. I took her to see Santa at Petsmart yesterday. She was not excited about all of the big dogs that were there. Other than that, it’ll be a lot of Kringle radio and some Hallmark while starting to prep Christmas dinner. I hope everyone has a great day!!!!!
Hope your Mom is feeling better soon! We have a lot of viruses going around here...Merry Christmas Eve!

Thanks Crown and have a splendid Christmas Eve! Its been a long haul to get to Christmas Eve but once again here everybody is waiting.

Merry Christmas to all!! At the office today as we're open until noon. I don't think the phone has rang. The temp in SoCal was 43 when I drove in and will be a high of 58. Tomorrow, Christmas Day is supposed to be 54 with rain.

At the way home I'll be picking up the sweet n sour meatballs and a couple of salads. Once home I'll put the ham in the oven and start the sauce for the lasagna. Cupcakes and gingerbread cookies will complete the oven time.

At some point I'll walk over to a couple of our neighbors and deliver kolackys. We'll grab some food to go and enjoy the rest of the evening.

Enjoy!
