I want to wish everyone on here a Merry Christmas in advance! I just got home from work, our office closed early, and i have a busy night ahead of me finishing up last minute things. I doubt very seriously that i have any time online tomorrow, but i will try my best to pop on in the early morning to wish everyone Merry Christmas again!

I'm so glad i joined this site over the summer. I've enjoyed interacting with all of you, you've made me feel so welcome. I look forward to the fun times next year! I'm so happy that i'll be able to experience a true 12 month countdown here not as a lurker, but as a member! Rudolph Days and everything else :)

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Merry Christmas, wonderful friends.

I've so enjoyed getting to know each of you through your posts and pictures. When I felt down, I'd look at my cards or send another card out to someone I've not seen in awhile.

Tonight I'm remembering the last Christmas I had with my mother. Since I had no children, it was very special. She learned that she had terminal cancer and flew back to Florida to live out her remaining days with me. It was hard but what a blessing it was to us both.

One of the last things she did was made a pumpkin pie and showed me her secret for a very rich filling. She knew Christmas was always a big deal for both of us and she tried to tell me to hang on to those memories but don't try to duplicate them.....create new ones. I've done that.

This is a picture of my mom in her late 30s. Her eyes were the color of Paul Newman's. She didn't have an easy life but, every Christmas, she came alive.

God bless each of you, your families, and your loved ones.Ruth Balmer.jpg Ruth Balmer.jpg

MerryChristmas Eve everyone !!!

wow, the day before the day has arrived. I had to work today. Got my candy canes lined up to handed out with my festive earrings on.
I went this evening to church for our Christmas eve service then went on a tour of the Christmas lights.
Now I am wrapping on the last gift then off to bed to await the arrival of my family in the morning !

Thanks KimB for that beautiful message. And blessings to you too.

Well, Henry is in bed, cookies for Santa are out. The wife and I are finishing up cleaning the house a bit and getting the crockpot ready for our breakfast in the morning.

We spent about an hour and a half out looking at Christmas lights. There were some nice neighborhoods out there with luminaries lining the streets.
We came home and played Christmas Story monopoly and watched a few Christmas shows.

Now we are watching White Christmas one more time before bed. Then it is the wait for Santa to arrive!
Everyone have a wonderful and the Merriest of Christmases.

I'm glad you are found us; your mom was beautiful; my husband's mom had eyes that you could see from across the street - so blue.

We're learning to do things differently too and no matter how different it may seem; we wind up enjoying our time together very much.

As much as I recall the delight and wonder of Christmas in my youth, I still get great joy from it year after year even though it isn't the same.

Yet, I know tonight when I put my head on the pillow, I will be listening for the sound of sleigh bells overhead.
