Happy Tuesday MMC ~
I’m moving a bit slow this morning, unfortunately I woke up with a migraine. I took something and I’m feeling a bit better. I’m heading out soon to do some food shopping, I just want to get it over with and be in for the rest of the day. My youngest is coming over this afternoon and we’re going to order decorations for her graduation party. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. Dinner will be tacos. That’s it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day.
xx

Praying your migraine is gone! xx

Merry Tuesday!

We under a winter weather advisory ~ snow, freezing rain, sleet, and then rain could be seen through tomorrow morning when it is supposed to change over to all rain.

Be warm and merry!

Love it!!! ♥

I also picked up some flavoured hot chocolate of the KitKat, Coffee Crisp variety.
They'll be delighted; I'm sure.

Good Monday evening! After the storm yesterday that left us with about 10 inches of snow and when I almost got stuck 3 times, we are still dealing with incredibly cold temperature, currently at -28°C/-18°F with the wind. Tomorrow should be the last of it for a little while. David had his pre-op appointment this morning. His EKG was normal and the anesthesist explained how the surgery will go. He also warned him that shoulder surgery is a very painful one. We got up very early to make sure we were on time at the hospital which is about an hour away, knowing roads were not 100% clear yet. I guess I was tired because I slept all afternoon. We'll just enjoy a relaxing evening catching up on the dvr. Wishing everyone a great Monday night.

We're expecting milder temps. for tomorrow compared to the last week, but 6-10 cm. of snow. Saw a frozen dead mouse on the HWY today, felt bad for it and then wondered how my mice hiding out in the cedar shrub were getting on - hope they are finding some source of food. Hopefully, they managed to stash away enough food. I usually put the old bird food near the hedge when I replace the food in the feeders hoping some critter will enjoy it.

Hope the surgery went well and it doesn't take too long to for David to heal.

Good evening, all! Hope you're all trying to stay as warm as you can! It is just down right frigid here. By the time we wake up in the am, it's supposed to be 2F. The kids are already on a 2-hour delay. I have spent a good bit of the evening looking at a new costume for DD for baton, which has been time consuming. It is a special routine she is doing - Jungle Book theme. It isn't for until July thank goodness, so I have some time. I have also been doing some research on grocery stores and couponing. We have had several people telling us about Aldi and the savings we will have if we start doing our shopping there. Over the last day or so we I have done extensive research and we've decided we're going to do a shopping trip there tomorrow, so we shall see!

Other than that, just trying to stay warm! Hope you're all having a great evening!

Baton - you say - I was a majorette way back and was doing some baton twirling in the Santa Claus parade one year. My older brother got me all paranoid about dropping the baton and everyone laughing at me. I spent most of the parade pretending to twirl it around, but actually wound up doing the speedy rubber pencil trick so I wouldn't drop it. Boy was my wrist ever sore at the end of the parade, but I didn't make a fool of myself - or did I?

Hello sugar...Hope you managed to get your DD new costume for baton...Well your friends are soo right sugar...Aldi id an amazing shop my friend...you will cut your shopping bill by at least a 1/3..We have Lidl and Aldi here in the UK and ive only started shopping at those stores the past few weeks...Look forward in hearing how your shopping trip at Aldi goes Sugar...Stay warm my friend:)

Does anyone know if this chain of stores is like COSTCO where you buy bulk items of things you commonly use like food, clothes, etc.? I've never heard of it.

I still recall the first time I ever ate Tacos. My neighbours son and granddaughter came to visit from Virginia and he made tacos for her birthday party that several of the neighbourhood kids and grown ups were invited to so we could meet her. She was staying to live with her grandparents and it was a great way for her to get familiar with us.
I loved those; they were messy, but still delicious. She became one of my best childhood friends.
My mom wound up making them the odd time for us over the years; she and I liked them better than my dad and brothers.
My husband teases me because I remember food so well - you'd think I'd be 300 lbs; I really love food and the thought of certain dishes takes me back to fond memories.

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

It's still pretty chilly down south, and I like it! I have a closet full of sweaters, but I only get to wear them a few weeks out of the year. I wear them every chance I get.

Jacob's car is STILL at the body shop. It's been there since December 17, 2018. All they had to do was replace the damaged fender. They called me again yesterday to say that maybe by the end of this week it'll be ready. They've been saying that for 4 weeks. Jacob has my truck, and I'm driving a truck I borrowed from my FIL. I know Bernie's ready to get his truck back; I sure am!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

That's a shame that they didn't repair the fender sooner; my mechanic often says, "give me three days" and they call me back in two that the job is done.

Morning everyone. The cleanup has started from the overly large snowfall. They are hauling away mountains of snow in dump trucks to the lakes and empty fields here.

We still have snowbanks as tall as I am; the city has been slow to remove them and then the plows come by and pile everything up into one corner where cars are not supposed to encroach on a crosswalk, but have to in order to see any on coming traffic. No wonder I hear sirens so much more in the winter than the summer months.
They aren't piling as much up on my dead end street by the creek which is good news; last year it nearly flooded when it melted.

Happy Tuesday all!

Boy, it sure has been cold the past few days, if it stays like this all that snow we got is going to stick around for quite some time. Though when i went to bed last night, i looked out the window and laughed to myself ... because the moon on the breast of the new fallen snow did, in fact, give the luster of midday to objects below!

Have a great Tuesday all,
~CK

HaHa - yesterday there were glistening floaties flying off the roof from the wind and the moon was impressive (actually looked more orange last night than it did Sunday night). I was thinking the same thing, but then "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" popped into my head 'cause of the glistening snow - I had to stop admiring it because the sparkle was sparking a migraine.

Awesome, and to clarify.. my “like” of your post is for everything prior to the migraine... ouch! Hope it went away quickly.

What in the hey? What is their excuse? That seems a little excessive, right?!

Good Afternoon Sugar...I know what you mean about growing up fast my girls are 8yrs old this Saturday:eek:....Ummm yeah look forward in hearing how your grocery shop went...I feel you will be shocked on the prices though lol...Happy Shopping!:)

Happy early Birthday to them and the shopping trip was amazing! I am pretty sure it is going to be life changing! I know it's all going to be a lesson learn type deal, but we bought a lot of generic, obviously for one, some of the things only came in generic, but some just because we want to try the item, see if we like it and can save a few bucks. We shall see!

No snow here, just freezing temps. We are back in the normal work & school routine & DD's first band competition for this calendar year is this Saturday. We've made camping reservations for Memorial Day week & Labor Day weekend. I need things to look forward too!

Good luck to DD!

Aldi is one of the stores I frequent the most. The prices on their dairy products and fresh vegetables can't be beat in this area. :)

We were excited about this as well and couldn't believe the selection of baking items they had. I couldn't believe none of my friends, especially the ones who frequent there to get their baking items, had never shared with me. I can't wait to have a day of baking!
