Good morning, MMC! Lots of running around to do today. The weather is supposed to start getting bad tonight into tomorrow, so we want to get it all done today.

We booked our trip Saturday night - we are going to the Bahamas for 5 days. Like I said, it's a very last minute type thing, but with every thing that has happened the last couple months, we the need the time away. We will be away very late Sunday-Saturday with flights and everything.

I'll check back in later - hope you all have a great day!
How exciting...it will be a great trip for sure!

Good Day, my Friends.

And a Milestone Day is always a good day!
<< Which Milestone is it, Crown? >
We will get to that in just a moment, little voice.

First, we need to deal with this:
Days to the Season: 274
Days to Christmas Day: 316

The Milestone marker in question, that has been arrived at this very morning?
Well, it's the total and absolute completion of the entire FIRST QUARTER of our Season count, and the commencement of the SECOND!
<< Wow, Crown! >>
An understatement to say the least, little voice!

It was chilly and wet yesterday.
Today? Predicted to be warm and wet.
The start-off? 44 degrees, here at this hour.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Fellow Travelers.
And don't forget Carl's Valentine's Day open house tomorrow evening!

Happy Milestone Day MMC!!
We are out of, what I consider, the hardest quarter... I think we're really gonna pick up some speed now! We have some ugly weather rolling into town this afternoon ... if it effects you, stay off the roads if you don't have to go out! Stay Merry & Bright ya'll!

Good Tuesday morning! A big snow storm is coming our way starting late afternoon. Until tomorrow midday, we could get as much as 40cm/15 inches of snow. And as luck would have it, I work the afternoon/evening shift today and I start at 7am tomorrow. If roads are bad tomorrow morning I'll just take a taxi to work. These are my last two days of work before I am on vacation for 11 days, to take care of David when he (hopefully) has his surgery on Thursday. He'll only know tomorrow if he's confirmed or if his surgery is moved to another date again. But no matter what, I'll take these vacation days as they're from last year and I'm running out of time to take them. Hope everyone facing bad weather will stay safe and have a great day!

WOW! It's a miracle! I hope you were able to get the car. We are unfortunately dealing with the same type of issue right now. We are finishing are basement right now. We built are house 10 years ago and are currently, like I said, finishing the basement and it's the last process of the house. DH is working on the fireplace and bar now, but can't move any further because he is waiting for the mantel for the fireplace and bar top for bar. Once that is down, he is putting the carpet in, wear carpet is needed, then we are putting in a smaller kitchen down there, ordering our furniture and it will complete. As simple as it does sounds, it takes time, as we all know and we're now at the stage where it costs a lot of money. We ordered the mantel and bar top off a saw mill back 8 months ago. This guy does beautiful work. He told us it was going to be done in September. Then he told us Christmas. He then told DH last week. DH is able to see that he reads his text messages, but he won't respond to him and he never returns his phone calls, so DH made me call today and as I've told you before, I'm not so nice when I call. I was hoping if a different number called, it would make a difference, but it didn't. I told him if we don't have proof within the next week, with pictures, that there is progress, we want our deposit back. This is ridiculous. We could have had our basment done by now. I told him we'll never recommend him or use him ever again and that I understand this may or may not push him to get the work done, but I felt it needed to be said and that we feel finically he needs to be told we're willing to do what it takes him to whatever standard to get our money and everything we deserve. (Now, we know, taking him to court isn't worth it, but we've talked to other people that has used him, they've had the same problem. We just wish we would have known. ) This guy needs to know he is horrible at business practice and can't be treating people that way. Sorry for the rant, but I get where you're coming from. I've had one of those lately too.
Wow, you know my pain. I hope you get that worked out soon!

Hello all!

Sorry for my absence from the forums for a few day.
Health updates: Henry made it through a week of school. His fever finally disappeared last Sunday but the cough hung on through mid-week. I seemed to miss any major illness stuff. My wife ended up with a lot of congestion, headache, etc... but nothing major. She is finally starting to get back to normal today.
I'm glad Henry is feeling better, and I hope your wife keeps improving!
On Friday my wife and I went to Indianapolis to see William Shatner give a talk and showing of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. It was a nice little quick get-a-way. Shatner was funny and entertaining as always.
That would be AWESOME!! You saw Captain Kirk IN PERSON!! TWOK is the best TOS movie!

Thanks, Brad. We’ve been calling the guy every day. He is now no longer return our calls. There are some names I have for him, that I can’t use on here. I know DH and I have already talked, we are taking a trip to his shop (it’s almost an hour away from here), when we get back from vacation), if we still don’t here anything by then. It’s beyond unprofessional. DH said now, we’ve probably been moved to the bottom of the list or he used the wood to make a huge bonfire at his house.

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

I did indeed pickup Jacob's car Friday evening, and they did a great job. Of course, they had 2 months to do it... Anyway, I expected a break on my deductible, but they told me no. I paid it, but I was mad as a wet hornet. A few minutes later, they gave me half of my deductible back, after realizing how long it had been. I agreed that it was a fair exchange.

Saturday, I washed and vacuumed Bernie's truck, filled it up, and replaced the failing wiper blades. I hope that will assuage any ill will he may have developed for me during the 2 months I've kept his truck. ;)

Yesterday, my brother and I took our mom to a doctor's appointment in Savannah, then we all went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. Mmm, mmm!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good morning, all! Happy Milestone Day and hope you're all having a great day so far. We got snow last evening, all night, and early this am. It has now changed over to freezing rain and will eventually change over to rain as it warms up. School was canceled due to the weather, so since my sister works at one of the local schools, we don't have my niece, but the kids are home with us.

Today's plans: well, I would love to stay in doors due to the weather and was hoping to do so, but, remembered we have to go to the eye doctors this afternoon at 3 - which is for 3 of us. DS doesn't go to the same doctor, because he goes to a specialist due to eye issues.

Other than that, I need to start packing today. I head back to work today and work all but Friday until we head for the trip.

I hope you're all have a great and safe day!

Happy Tuesday!

Here's another one expecting snow today, followed by sleet, freezing rain, and rain. Hoping to leave the office before 1 p.m. to miss the worst of it, and work the rest of the afternoon from home.
It started snowing overnight and will continue to around six, this evening. Over the last week and a half we have completely erased this season's snow deficit. The Winter Wonderland feel is long gone....

Nasty weather has arrived here; luckily I left from my 2-hour away destination earlier than expected. I parked the car and by the time I climbed the stairs, the snow was blowing. They closed a bunch of Colleges and Universities down south from us; we are expecting 3-5 cm which isn't all that much, but it's the winds that are swirling all the other stuff around that will make it difficult for anyone trying to drive out there.

Enjoy your vacation.

Happy Milestone Day! -mistletoe-

In honour of this merry occasion, I treated myself to a delicious turkey sandwich with sliced tomatoes, white cheddar cheese and leaf lettuce on homemade whole wheat bread from Kate's Kountry Kitchen for lunch. The turkey was packed in there, I could hardly get my mouth around it. -The baked goods, jams, chow-chow and such are made by the Mennonites and everything tastes awesome. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere and is quite popular with a few nearby communities, truckers, OPP and anyone who has stopped there is sure to return.

Here's a merry treat to keep you jolly ... from waayyy back!

I have now seen him twice and met and talked to him. We say in Louisville in December at a ComicCon. I got his autograph (on a picture from The Wrath of Khan) and spoke to him briefly about his show, Shatner's Raw Nerve.

He is very funny and though extremely busy at Cons, he is willing to talk for a little bit as he signs items an such.

He has some great stories to tell about the show and movies and all of the other things he does outside of entertainment.
