Thanks Crown! Happy Epiphany!Good Morning, Sunday Super Stars.
First Sunday of the new year of Two-Thousand and Nineteen.
What's new today?
Well, the count numbers, of course.
And here they are, unedited and non-redacted:
Days to the Season: 311
Days to Christmas Day: 353
Now, do our eyes deceive us, or does that first number indicate that, as of the day after tomorrow, we will be SINGLE DIGITS away from 2019 Milestone number one, the 300-day Season Window, which in turn means we will be at the threshold of a 200's level Season count?
Nope.
Our eyes are telling us the truth this morning!
Despite getting up to 61 yesterday, it felt quite chilly, owing to the wind and lack of sun. Today is promised at 65 with plenty of sun, so it should feel much nicer.
This second morning of the first weekend of the new year has commenced here at 44 degrees.
Have a Super Play-Off Sunday, Everybody!
Tree was up almost 2 months ! Anyone else in that range ?

I emailed in to work off-site due to a severe migraine and sinus pain and walked into work an hour later with some sinus meds.
For me, it's not the same as taking the day off, but I have to be careful not to do it too often or I'll just have to take a sick day. I think I had 1.5 last year, but I took a few half days for personal time here and there to drive my husband to medical appointments and be an extra ear to hear the options, etc. In my mind I have far too much to do to take a sick day.
I can handle pain, but the ticking of my wristwatch was even bothering me this morning. Seems not too bad now.
Hope you felt better after some rest so we can have a snowball fight.

Thank you; I've been paining off and on, but mostly on the last few days. Could be part migraine and part body strain from my shoulder from assisting my husband so much lately. I try to do things to take my mind off the pain, but when my footsteps hurt my head, I have a rest.Hope you are feeling better!
Good evening all,
I meant to visit the last 2 days but I forgot until it was too late. They say it takes 21 days to form a habit.
I had today off because we were supposed to go to my family's Christmas party, but my aunt had to cancel last moment because she was sick. It doesn't look like it will be rescheduled. So today we just hung out at home, I blasted Christmas music for hours, and now sitting in the warm glow of my tree and lights.
I made sure to come in today because it is my 9th anniversary of joining MMC. I joined because of a really bad case of PCB's, and even though I haven't been here much the last 2 years I still love this place and how the Christmas spirit is always here.
I was told back in December by a friend, that I restored her Christmas spirit for the first time in years. She had lost it due to family issues. She told me because of my love for Christmas, wearing Christmas sweaters, socks, and shirts and talking about my love of all things Christmas it made her happy Christmas was around again, she tearfully thanked me for restoring her Christmas spirit. She said she couldn't wait until next Christmas to decorate the outside of her house with her husband and kids. We are already talking about competing against each other on whose house looks better.
I want to thank the MMC community for keeping my Christmas spirit strong, that's what Christmas is all about to me. helping others in ways you dont know.
Have a good night
Today, in some parts of Atlantic Canada, this is old Christmas Day!
The season of Christmas is often said to be twelve days long, and ends for some people on "Old Christmas Day," January 6th. This date is liturgically the Feast of the Epiphany. The comparatively recent name "Old Christmas" stems from the 1752 reorganization of the calendar when twelve days were dropped from the calendar; the following year, purists said that the "real" Christmas Day was not on December 25th, but January 6th, 365 days after the previous Christmas. Some Newfoundlanders observe "Old Old Christmas Day" (January 18th) as the "real" end of the season. Indeed mummering can sometimes be seen on the Southern Shore of the Avalon peninsula until the end of January.
Mummering, the practice of disguising oneself and visiting from house to house, is carried on through the Christmas season. Known in Britain as "mumming," the name "mummering" long ago became usual in Newfoundland. It usually does not start until St Stephen's Day (known nowadays as Boxing Day, and falling on December 26th).
