Good Saturday morning MMC!! It's snowing like crazy!! Hubby is out & about. He said the roads are a little slick - we had some rain before the snow started. Good thing he's getting his running done early!!! I have a big pot of Ham & Veggie soup on the stove. It's smelling so yummy in here! :) We are planning to have cocktails with the neighbors later on! (Soup & snacks too!) I got a new dip recipe from my co-worker yesterday, so I bought all the ingredients yesterday. I'm excited to try it! Loving this snowy day....I just want everyone to stay safe & warm!
In just the couple minutes I've been typing this message - the snow backed off a bunch. What the heck??? I'm pretty positive this isn't the end of it though! ;)
Everyone, have a great day!!!
What kind of dip? I love dip!

'Tis the weekend; what a busy week and next week will likely result in longer hours than usual. I was supposed to have Thursday and Friday off for vacation and was going to Ottawa to surprise my brother for his birthday, but cancelled my plans; I'm just too busy right now. I added a vacation day in February to the Friday before Family Day weekend so we can go then when my husband has a bit more strength. The boys want to see in person how he's doing. He made some progress this last week and is moving around better than usual.

Last night, he noticed that the p.j. bottoms I bought him had Christmas lights all over them with a navy background. I said, "Well, you light up my life!" He forgot that You Light Up My Life was one of the first songs we danced together to at our Wedding.

I picked up a wedding gift for my oldest grandson and his fiancee, they aren't getting married until late May, but I saw something that caught my eye and just had to get it.

It's a lovely huge canvas with a relaxing scene of blue sky and an ocean with beach level lawn chairs and candles. The candles light up with the flick of a switch.

We'll also donate $$ to their honeymoon, but I saw that and knew they'd like it; they've already been on 3 cruises together to tropical destinations.

The sun is trying to shine; no snow expected so although it's terribly cold, I don't have to worry about getting out of my parking spot on Monday morning.

Took the city until Wednesday to finally clear my spot out. I guess I could have shoveled it myself, but my right shoulder is acting up again so I didn't want to take a chance since it was really their mess.

It's O'Malley the cats big ol' 14th birthday today. Think he's going to continue doing what he does best; blocking our paths where he decides to take a nap and letting us know when he thinks he deserves a treat or a rub.

I played a joke on him; too bad he doesn't get it. Remember I said he has an olive fetish and two weekends ago when I was making my rainbow pasta chicken 'n cheese Florentine, he lapped up a bit of sauce from the floor and ate a piece of spinach ... well, I bought him an Italian chef placemat for his small dog trough to rest on so he doesn't make too big a mess. My husband thought it was silly, but he wasn't surprised by it.

I'm going to attempt to exercise him with his mini Lambchops toy that was in my merry package from HeadElf.

Keep a merry thought in your head! -mistletoe-

A very Happy Birthday to O'Malley from Palmer and I! xx
Stay warm, Auntie!

It’s freezing here, but still no sign of snow. I heard we migt get snow on tuesday.. that would be nice.
I did some chores this morning and after that I visited a friend of mine. Other than that we don’t have much planned for today and tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!

Hello all.

Well, I am very disappointed in the weather right now. We were forecast to get 8-12 inches of snow today and tonight. Woke up this morning to rain and freezing rain. It is not after 3:00 and still freezing rain... no snow. :(
It is still suppose to change to snow this evening and we should get a couple of inches along with 40mph wind. But that is a far cry from the snow I wanted.
I was looking forward to sitting here on my birthday and watching it snow all day. Instead I am sitting here watching rain! Bleh

Well, I hope everyone is having a good day.

What a day! Been up at going since 5 a.m. and I couldn't be happier. Coffee was good, the reading was good, and I sit here looking at the window at a beautiful, hard snow. What is even better is that it is 35 degrees here, so there is no accumulation on the roads. It is just beautiful. Both of the girls are in awe at what they are seeing. The last time it snowed, it all happened from 10 pm at night until about 4 am in the morning...so they just saw the snow on the ground. As a matter of fact, this might be my youngest daughter's first time to see if fall. Bambina has just seen it once. Awesome time.

The temp is supposed to continue falling from now until 2 pm tomorrow. Low 20's for us tomorrow morning, but will go back up to 28 tomorrow afternoon. No worries....I've got plenty of coffee, pizza for tonight, and no school Monday. It is going to be a great two days.

Y'all have a good one. See you tomorrow morning!

That's so exciting - I hope you get some pictures of the girls and post them! Their faces will be prices! Have so much fun and enjoy, but stay warm and safe!

Good evening, all! It started snowing around 2 here and it is still currently snowing pretty steadily and hard. We have probably 5-6 inches currently. They say we are to get 8-12 inches here now, but we always get on the upper end at our house. We did a ham for dinner and what we have left, we're going to use for ham loaf in a day or two, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes. DH is planning on going out here soon and using the snowblower. He does the whole block, as a few of our neighbors are elderly and the others, well, DH is just that kind of person. He helps everyone. I love that about him. Other than that, I have Christmas music playing right now and may turn Hallmark back on here later. We plan on making a big pot of chicken corn rival soup, some cookies, blueberry bread, and throwing some dips in the crockpot tomorrow, and just doing nothing but spending time inside together playing games, watching movies, etc. They've already canceled religious classes for the kids tomorrow, so I think with the being said, we plan on staying home and playing hooky from church. I know it's not the holy thing to do, but I know God will forgive us and will take some time aside and say some prayers. He would want us all safe. As far as the rest of the day, I know DH will have to go back outside, so the kids will play in the snow at some point. DH already told me he wants to make omelettes with some of the leftover ham too for breakfast. Yum!

Hope you're all staying warm and safe - looks like the storm is heading east with a vengeance. I'm praying for you all! God Bless you all and pray no one loses power!!!

Happy Birthday! This Ohio weather is crazy. We were supposed to get 7-8 inches of snow too but it has rained all day and it is STILL raining! Not even freezing rain, just plain old rain. The temp has hovered at about 34 degrees all day. They say we will get snow tonight after 11 but that is NOT the Saturday they promised me! I should have known better than to buy into the weatherman hype!
