I hope Henry gets better soon!Hello all and happy Friday.
Well, no school for the third day in a row. Wednesday and Thursday were cancelled due to the extreme cold. Last night we picked up about 5 inches of snow so that cancelled school.
Henry is still fighting his illness. It is more likely the flu or other virus than strep. He never developed other strep throat symptoms, and though the doctor gave him an antibiotic just in case, it does not seem to have made any difference. He is still running a fever and coughing and such. Really it is good timing since school has been cancelled, he has really only missed 1 day.
I thought I was getting it yesterday, but I do not feel too bad today and I have not picked up a fever. Just lots of congestion and headache. More likely just sinus issues.
The weather is a bit crazy; by the end of the weekend we are suppose to hit 50! This after having windchills of -35 to -40 on Wednesday and Thursday.
Today makes 6 days school has cancelled which means we have to make a day up. So they will most likely take Friday the 15th away from us. Plus, this is only the start of February, which we usually get more snow this month than in January. Ice is often a problem through March and into the start of April. So, we might end up with a few more days cancelled, which means making up a few more days. Oh well, that is just the way it is I suppose.
It has been nice sitting around the house all week. I have been keeping busy painting miniature football players for an electric football set I purchased with some birthday money.
Well, I hope everyone has a great day!
My mom got to see an ortho today. She has to do 3x a week PT for 4 weeks. The dr did not prder an MRI since her x-ray was normal My brother took her since I had work at 6am in the 2° weather. He said it was a sight seeing her get to the car from the house. My dad got her a walker that was still at my grandmas house. Man is it hard getting 2 extra people ready in the morning
Merry Friday MMC ~
It’s going to be a bit warmer today with a high of 23, we’re currently at 11 degrees. My father was finally moved to a nursing home yesterday for rehabilitation. He went for a short walk yesterday with the use of a walker but he can not stand up by himself. We’re praying he gets some strength back so he can go home. I have plans to visit him today. Other than that I’ll be working on my daily chores. Dinner will be fettuccini Alfredo with a tomato & mozzarella salad. That’s about it from me. Wishing everyone a happy first day of February.

TGIF, Christmas friends!
Nancy and I went to visit her mom yesterday afternoon, but then Nancy asked me to take the car to her daddy's store to get some gas. When I got there, Bernie was working by himself (I don't know where the help went), he had customers in line at the register, and the phone was ringing. So, I rolled up my sleeves and went to work taking orders, making pizzas and ringing up customers. By the time we got to the house, Mrs. Hilda was already in the bed LOL.
Elizabeth is off to another competition this weekend, so Nancy and I are heading to Atlanta tomorrow to support her.
I hope y'all have a great day!![]()
I hope your father gets the best care possible in the nursing home. I’m sending good thoughts his way for him to regain his strength soon.Merry Friday MMC ~

So glad to hear that your health issues have cleared up enough to allow you to return to work. I'm sure you will do fine.Good afternoon, friends! Kids headed back to school today. I had plans with my mom and sister to get together this afternoon - I'm not even sure what we were going to do yet, but it's been snowing all day, so my sister wanted to stay home, which I'm fine with. I would rather everyone be safe, especially because of the baby being in the car.
Nothing really planned for this evening either - we're having homemade pizza for dinner and then I'll probably try to get to bed by 10 or so, because I'll have to get up around 5:30. It's my first day back to wow (yay - sort of!), but will be my daylight in 14 years, except when I agreed to stay over. It's exciting and scary all in one. It will be okay, I keep telling myself, coffee and Jesus will get me through it!
I plan on just relaxing, reading, and watching the snow fall this afternoon! Hope you're all having a great day!
I’m sorry to hear your Dad is still struggling. Prayers for him, your Mom, and you. Stay safe and warm.
Continued prayers for your Dad...hope he is home soon!
Continued prayers for strength and healing for your father! Dinner sounds yummy!

That’s amazing! My mother just shared with me, that because it's the 10th anniversary of Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas, every Friday at 8 EST, they are celebrating with a Christmas movie!
Continued prayers! I hope the rehab can get him back to 100%Merry Friday MMC ~

He said because of her age (61) they would only do PT because their goal for her is to be able to navigate around the house even though she needs to work. He also said it's not a sports injury and that seems to be what his specialty is. I feel bad for my mom because specialty he is at the mercy of workman's comp. Her case worker is off until Tuesday so she may not know about her PT until then. My mom's friend is a PT in a school so she gave her some exercises to do.Was there a reason the doctor didn't want to go ahead and do an MRI, if the x-ray was normal or even a CT, if your mom is having that much trouble walking and is in that much pain, to make sure it isn't a ligament or muscle. Everything can't be seen on an x-ray. Mainly only bones can be seen on x-ray. If they continue to give you guys trouble, you may need a second opinion, just my thoughts.
