Update on how DD did yesterday! The team received 2 - 1st places in the open events and one 2nd place in the regional event, with another 2nd place with protection rule in the regional event. She then individually received the regional events - a 2nd in marching, 2nd fancy strict, 3rd in solo, and best overall in her age group for solo, as well 4th for basic skills pageant. The hard work for these girls continues to pay off! We didn’t get in last night until after midnight, so I’m tired today, but here at work.

Hope you’re all having a great Memorial Day Weekend!

I'm back from my weekend wedding adventure.

We got lost on the way, wound up on the east side of the small county instead of the west so we got there with 15 minutes to spare.

What a fun wedding that was! It has been a good many years since I attended a wedding for such a young couple. There is a competitive spirit among them and they kept challenging each other on the dance floor. Beautiful ceremony and the venue was charming and a bit rustic.

This was the first time I had seen several family members since Gary passed and a few were surprised I showed up. I guess they pictured me huddled under the covers. Don't get me wrong, I have had my moments of tears and miss his presence in my life very much, but I am ALIVE so I will continue to live life the way I always have - being kind to it and taking time to appreciate the little things others are sometimes too busy to notice. I have no doubt there will be sad moments like when #1 son mentioned his advice to the couple while he was visiting him in the hospital; I did feel the sadness for him (not for me) that he wasn't there to witness it (unless you believe he was there in spirit). The youngest granddaughters (ages 10 & 8) also managed to move a few of us to tears with their heartfelt speech to their brother who was getting married and his bride who was already like a big sister to them.

Took the scenic route back so we were going through small communities and back roads for an hour and a half instead of taking the HWY, put extra time on the trip, but we had plenty of time.

Back home relaxing with "Orange Fang" the feral cat. Didn't realize how bad he bit me until last night when I was trying to sleep on my right side and had to change positions because I felt the sting. My bite marks aren't infected just sore, but they'll heal.

Keep a merry thought in your head! -mistletoe-

That's so awesome! And y'all must be so proud.

Good Morning, busy week for me with one overnight out of town on Tuesday - I won't be bringing my laptop so I'll have to play catch up on Wednesday, but I'm here now.

Had a good sleep. Ready to take on the day!

There were a few Christmas sightings on my trip over the weekend that I forgot to mention ... Christmas Wreath on a door, multi coloured lights in the loft of the old renovated barn that was turned into a banquet room. And several green mailboxes in a row with red handles. Some people wouldn't see that as a Christmas sign, but merry makers do.

Stay jolly! +d

Merry Monday all,

Well, after the large amount of rain we had on Saturday, things are starting to dry off again. Just in time to mow the lawn again. I'm almost finished making the raised beds for the back yard, and will have to pick up soil to get things started. Then we can finally get some plants in the ground so we can eat really locally.

Ordered a rain barrel and some native plants from the city and I picked those up too. Most will go in the back to attract pollinators. Slowly adding some colour to the yard. We weren't sure what was going to come back from the stuff we planted last year, but most revived. The lilies, of course, and most of the hostas and lily-of-the-valley for the shaded side of the house.

I'm off to do a taste testing this morning. I signed up a few months ago and the company contacted me a couple of weeks ago. It's fun to try out new products and help them out.

Have a good week everyone. Stay cool.

Happy Memorial Day MMC! This is the day first of all we thank everyone who risked their lives defending us. Secondly, this is the day that I think about when we start the year on January 1. For me this is my favorite(s) time of year now almost the rest of the year. Summer time, the Bers, Halloween Season, November/Thanksgiving and the Christmas Season. First up a Memorial Day BBQ on an 80 degree sunny day with low humidity. Have a great day everyone!

Good Monday morning! I was a glorious Summer-like day yesterday, but I was working and did not get to enjoy it. This morning the sun is out again though it's cooler. David has an appointment with his surgeon to see if he can go back to work on light duty/partial time. He's really itching to go back and feel useful again. His shoulder is improving but he has not gotten back a full range of motion when lifting his arm to the side. And the physiotherapist hasn't started him on strength exercised yet, so his arm is still pretty weak. I've just done my workout for the day and after breakfast I'll take out Loki to enjoy some of this nice weather. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift so I have some time in front of me to relax. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, friends. I'm sitting on the deck, watching the birds, drinking coffee....life is good.

Saturday was yardwork, yesterday was food prep and grilling.....today is relaxing and I'm off to a great start.

Tomorrow is the last day of school. I'm pretty excited. I'm debating taking some vacation the rest of this week, but I dont' know. Not even going to worry about it....

Yall have a great one! See you later today.
