Well the tornadoes last night have made national news. Just on the north side of Dayton, OH the tornado was on the ground for about 40 minutes and covered an area of 20 miles. Several schools are closed, lots of damage to apartments, houses, businesses. I-75 was covered with debris and they used snow plows to clean it up. Power is out for thousands of people in the area. So far there are no reports of serious injury with that tornado, but...

Another tornado hit the city of Celina just a few minutes before the one that hit Dayton. That tornado leveled a section of Celina and there are 7 injuries, but luckily no fatalities with that one either.

Then, yet another tornado (yes, that makes 3 tornadoes) hit a more rural area just west of where I live. That one did not stay on the ground long and did not do much damage. A barn was destroyed along with several trees from that one.

More storms in the forecast this evening, tomorrow, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday!

That's horrible.

I recall my mom's childhood friend getting swept up by a tornado when she was working in a school as a Nun and was rushing into warn everyone. I think she was in the outskirts of Chicago. That was back in the spring of '89, but it may have been August 1990. She was my mom's maid of honour at her wedding and she took it very hard, naturally. Mary was trying to get the children to the storm shelter. There were several fatalities and injuries with that one.

Tossing prayers up.

The weather has been crazy for the last couple of hours. Heavy run, storms, and several tornadoes. All is safe where I am, but just north of me a tornado hit a town, no word on casualties yet, but lots of damage though. Then, there were 3 other tornadoes south of me, again, lots of damage but no word on casualties.
It looks like the storms are moving out now. Nighttime tornadoes are do dangerous.
I hope everyone turns out to be ok and all of the damage is just to property, not people.

I'm so glad you guys were safe! We are outside of Columbus and just got lucky with some heavy rain. But I was up late watching the weather monitors and some really strong storms came our way, with a few tornadoes to the south of us. My heart is breaking for all of the people in and round Dayton that had to deal with the destruction. I have seen some really horrible footage of it on the news today.

Auntie your wedding adventure is fodder for the Opera part xvxbxxvv

Today's adventure could prove more Opera worthy ... I wrote up a brief Obituary for my husband because I know there are relatives and former friends of his I didn't reach simply because I don't have their contact info handy.

I mentioned in it that he had been cremated at the Shispering Pines; the staff at the funeral parlor caught it and changed it to Whispering Pines, but I thought it was really funny how I slipped up there.

Typo or the force of the merry ones? The jury is undecided. +g

I'm on keflex antibiotics for the damage O'Malley did to my leg. It wasn't bad over the weekend, but the last two days I swelled up and it feels tight like a sunburn; you can see the swelling and when I put my hand on it, I can feel heat.

The doctor at the walk-in clinic suggested I toss the cat out the window; lucky for O'Malley that's not my style.

I switched my plans for travelling to Thursday and Friday this week so I could give myself a day to let the antibiotics kick in and I figure it might be easier to drive with that right leg on the two-hour drive; maybe I'll use CRUISE for the first time ever.

Probably not; I don't think that's driving.:sway

Stay jolly!

Happy Nearing End of May MMC! Already Wednesday huh? That's one great thing about having Monday off. The week seems a little shorter (and it is). We have some clouds this morning and humid conditions. Hoping for a decent day at least and can't believe how May is already winding down. Have a great Nearing End of May Everyone!

Good afternoon! Severe weather is about to arrive and I have the house ready and prepared as much as possible. Most of PA is under a tornado watch until 10 PM tonight. The storm that is just a few miles is away, they are saying has the potential of doing so, with high winds and golf ball sized hail. I have the kids on high alert, ready to move them to the basement, and I have candles and flashlights out, incase we lose power. Anyone else who is in the path of bad weather, stay safe and God be with you! Praying it doesn't get too bad!
Wow, praying for all of you!

Good morning all. More storms in the forecast today. Henry has track practice this evening (weather dependent).

The clean-up continues in and around Dayton. The destruction is pretty bad in many places. Still only one fatality reported. They have confirmed 5 tornadoes from the storms. The NWS is investigating two more today, so it is possible that they will confirm a total of 7!

The tornado that hit Dayton was an EF3. The one that hit Celina is still being looked at and will possibly be graded as an EF4.

Everyone have a great day.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I spent the day and evening staying in the air conditioning, trying not to irritate my sunburn. It's tolerable as long as I don't get too warm, and that's a TALL order this week in south Georgia LOL.

I think we're going to see Aladdin tonight, unless I can break away to see John Wick 3 at the same time. ;)

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Merry Pines Day MMC ~
It’s going to be cloudy here today with a high of 66, we’re currently at 58 degrees. Storms will be moving in later today. Thoughts and prayers for those affected by the tornadoes, I was watching the coverage on the news this morning. It’s heartbreaking.
It will be a typical day of errands and chores for me. I’m also going to stop by my oldest daughters apartment to visit. She’s home from work, she’s not feeling well. I’m going to bring her over a little care package. That’s about it for me.
I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

Good Morning, People of Distinction!

And let it be distinctly understood that we now stand on the threshold of SINGLE DIGITS to an important Milestone marker.

Days to the Season: 168
Days to Christmas Day: 210

And being exactly TEN days away from the 200-Day Christmas Day Window, indeed places us right squarely on the doorstep of single digits!

The relentless heat continues, as mid-90's are predicted for three days in a row.
On top of that, the humidity is building, making it easy to decide what part of the day (if any) to do outside work in!
Today has already started at 75 degrees, and will only be going up from there.

But at the 'Pines? Hey. No problem there. Enjoy a nice tall, cool one of sweet southern iced tea under the shady terrace at the 'Pines, with those ever-present ceiling fans stirring the air at just the right velocity.
Or maybe take in a movie in the cool and dark theater.
Regardless, you are sure to have a good and comfortable time. Carl will see to that.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Folks!

Happy Hump Day!!
Looks like we will have some storms later. Work for me today and my daughter is supposed to have a softball game tonight but not sure if we will have it or not? Hope you all have a great day!

Thanks Crown! Happy Nearing End of May!

Oh, it is! It only requires milk, hot chocolate mix, ice, and a blender. I also added a squirt of chocolate syrup! It's kind of like slushy chocolate milk. Yummy, but an awful lot of sugar!
It is frozen hot chocolate, after all...That's kind of like noting Black Forest Cake is a little sweet...OOF! I think I just got a sugar buzz writing about delectable treats.

In short, "Ez, Kat!"

HoHoHello,

Well, I moved my trip to two day trips next Monday and Wednesday and no overnight. Need more time with the antibiotics and to heal my driving foot that feels sprained, but I'm sure it's just from the tightness of the swelling from the infection.

I was asked by a dozen people what happened to my leg and each time I said, "my cat bit me"; they asked what I did to tick him off. It has been along time since he's done that and hopefully he won't make the mistake of a repeat.

I'm heading to the Pines without the cat for a tall sweet glass of southern iced tea; would prefer Evan Williams Southern Eggnog, but that might not be on the menu.

Keep a merry thought in your head! +j

Henry started track practice tonight. It is a low-key team through the YMCA. This is his third year doing and it is good because it keeps him active in June and gets him ready for football.

The nice thing is that my wife and I can walk around the track during practice. But boy am I out of shape! We were walking fairly quickly, but my legs are felling it!

Good Morning,

That was a fun night at the Pines, hope I didn't frighten anyone with my dancing.

Work and a bit of shopping later.

I treated myself to a new watch yesterday with Penguins in the background, I thought one was playing an instrument, but it was the hands in a burnt orange that created the illusion.

Have a good one and Stay Jolly! -lights-

Happy Next to Last Day of May MMC! We had some heavy showers and storms last evening. Pretty intense. I still took Rollins out in between storms where it was raining lightly but then we saw a flash of lightening and the skies opened up and poured on us. We got back pretty quick as we took our short 5-10 minute walk which we do on bad weather days as opposed to the 20-25 minute longer route on decent days. Have a great Next to Last Day of May!

Good morning ~
It’s going to be another cloudy day with chance of showers/storms later. I have to do some shopping today for my father, his birthday is this weekend. Hopefully I’ll find the perfect gift, I have a couple of things in mind. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day! :)
xx
