Good morning all! Happy Monday! I’m off today and had my doctors appointment for my drivers license follow-up. I’ve been approved to drive! Yay!!! I just have to wait on the state now to send everything back in through the mail. The doctor told me to call them tomorrow for an update, to so how long that should take. Hopefully not long, but I’ve already waited 6 months, so I can wait a little longer.

My niece is here today too. Not much else is planned today, except DD’s private baton lessons tonight. We leave for Canton, Ohio Thursday around lunch time for internationals and will be there until late Sunday night. She’s been practicing extra hard!

Good morning all.

The heat has cranked back up and we are expecting some storms later today. Other than that, not much going on today.

MIL update: I have not updated much because there was little to say. However, she was taken back to ICU 3 days ago due to ammonia levels being way to high and more unresponsiveness. They started running some more tests but we have not heard all of the results. It looks as though, on top of other issues, that she may have had 2 small strokes. There are also looking into the possibility of blockages or damage to her intestines. Overall, after it looked like there were a few steps forward, she has moved backwards. There is no current timeline on moving back out of ICU. It looks like they are trying to get a handle on exactly what is the root cause of everything at this point.

Prayers for finding the bulb that lights up the key to this mess, and a speedy recovery.

Good morning all!

Lots going on this week in my world. Youth football camp Today through Wednesday. More Little League Football sign-ups Thursday through Saturday. Football coaches meeting Sunday. The relaxing part of my summer is not officially over. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. LOL

MIL update: Things are not going well at all. After it looked like some progress was being made, last night she became unresponsive again. They believe she had a stroke, though they are not sure of the severity. Her ammonia levels are very high and it looks like her liver is completely shot. She is currently being sedated and back on a respirator. The doctor told my FIL to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. The current prognosis is not good. My wife went down to the hospital this morning to be with her dad and sister. I am just trying to keep things as normal as possible here at home.

I'm so sorry for your family. Such a scary time.

Happy July Week 2 MMC! Now that the holiday week is over back to normal right? Actually I'm only working 3 days and then off for 4. My mom's bday is Thursday so we're taking her out. For today, just hoping to have a decent Monday at work. Have a great start to July Week 2!

Good Monday morning! We are having a string of sunny days but with less humidity than last week, so it’s entirely enjoyable. I’ll be going into work late this afternoon and staying until 11pm or later due to our annual strip and wax. A manager has to be on site while they do the cash office and can’t be done until after closing time and takes an hour and a half or so. Thankfully I have the day off tomorrow.

This week I’ll be going shopping with my 77-year old father for a used car. The car he had was 24 years old but is now done. I’m also looking at an organization which will pick up his car in exchange for a credit on his income tax returns. Hopefully we find something quickly because my dad is not a patient man.

Our family loves to play cards too! The only game we play is Hearts. We have so many sayings and rituals that we have made up over the years. As all of the grandkids got older, most of them watched and learned and started to play as well. It was so funny to see them pick up and mimic all of the sayings and moves we use! I'm sure we are obnoxiously annoying to anyone there who isn't playing with us (like my sister; she never learned, so she just sits and rolls her eyes and laughs at us) but the competition is great between our family members! So many good memories have been made playing cards over the years. I keep most of the score sheets and scrapbook them. Such a great time!

I was never much for cards, except for kids games - in my youth I played poker pool. When we were little, we had games night on Saturdays and sometimes after dinner during the week. Masterpiece, Clue, Stratego, Beat the Clock, Yahtzee, Rumoli, Risk, Monopoly, Payday, Sorry, Battleship ... my first game at the age of four was Trouble and if I could get my hands on that old slide of me walking toward my mom to show her my new Christmas present that would be something; the letters Trouble were clearing facing her direction and with that they nicknamed me Trouble. Later we got into the Trivial Pursuit games.

I always include 1 game in my Christmas gifts to the grandchildren that they can play together; sometimes they each get one, but at least one to share.

Sure lots of laughs and memories.

I still have fond memories of trips to Disney World and Disney Land. Family vacations are great.

I had three thoughts; people, antiques and Leon's unfortunate loss of a store they were hoping to run a business from - glad nobody was hurt.
