:locotreeI'm feeling extra merry -lights-

So, my dad is interested in going to Bronner's Christmas store with me in early October. I had mentioned it on one of our drives recently.

Funny thing, when we were in London, he remarked to my cousin that he wasn't sure how we'd get along for 10 days together and was happy that he discovered I was a nice person to be around.

I knew he loved me, but to like me is different. We never got to spend much time together on our own without other people aiding in the conversation. Over the last four years, when I'd go on my own it was usually to take my mom out for lunch and shopping so he could have a break.

I have to double-check my vacation dates, but if we can go there before the snow flies that would be great.

He thinks I was there as a child, but I don't remember.

It's about an 8 hour drive from here so if we take a day both ways and spend two days there - that could work - I can't leave O'Malley alone longer than that and it's clear he wouldn't be content anywhere else.

That's enough to make anyone jolly!:bundleup

Happy Made It To TGIF MMC! The humidity will drop today way down and it will be a beautiful weekend. Perfect timing. Tonight I'm going to see the fireworks at the local amusement park. This will be my 4th time this summer which is normal for me. It's sad but in the next week or 2 it will close for summer but that just means the Bers are upon us! Have a great Made It To TGIF MMC!

Whew! It's Friday - "keep your nose tidy" (as my mom used to say)

Once I get through the business of today, I'll have three days off. Meeting with lawyers Monday afternoon. That task I've been putting off (unknowingly) for too long. I have three important things to take care of, but have to settle the Estate before I can push forward to settle them. I'm really having trouble with this because once I receive the money from my husband's TFSA (remember no Will), I know it will hit me hard with the reality that he's gone and not coming back.

I have so many good days and moments, feeling a freedom I haven't felt in three years and then I get hit with waves of emotions and grief over the loss of my soulmate.

My dad is going to join me at the lawyers for part of it anyway in case I become emotional; usually I can go into robot mode and deal with the task at hand, but I'm not so sure in this case.

I was going to go to Ottawa for an overnight to visit #1 son and his family; youngest grandchild's birthday is on Sunday and will be celebrated over the weekend. Wow, Lexi will be 8 and the oldest is going to be 28 in December.

Might go for an overnight next weekend. It's important that we stay connected and if that means I give them time to share their stories or just be together; it's important that our lives continue together.

Have a great day - keep a merry thought in your head :ornarment

Sounds like it will be a wonderful trip!

It's great that your dad is going with you. Bless your heart.

TGIF, Christmas friends!

I finally borrowed Mom's mower and mowed the lawn. The neighbors were cheering me on! LOL

I jumped in the pool afterwards, and Nancy put Lulu in with me so she can get some low-impact exercise after her leg surgery. Lu didn't care for it, but at least she didn't panic. I love that she trusts me, even though she hates water.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good Morning, Weekend Eve Friends.
Again we perch on the doorstep of another weekend, secure in the knowledge that Christmas and its glorious Season are coming....and just might be closer than you think.

Days to the Season: 82
Days to Christmas Day: 124

Speaking of "being close", consider that our next Milestone marker, the 2/3 point to Christmas Day, will be here THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, and you'll get the full meaning of it!

Same weather pattern. Quite warm and humid, followed by a late afternoon/early evening thunderstorm which cools things off until the next morning.
Today? Back to the 90's once again, but tomorrow promises to be much cooler and that is the day I will return to mowing duties!
Our Weekend Eve starting temperature here in the capital city at this hour is 75 degrees.

Have a Fantastically Fabulous Friday, Friends!
Enjoy the weekend ahead.

Good morning and Happy Friday!
We had some crazy storms pass through last night, I just walked Rocky and it’s a mess out there. It’s going to be cloudy and cooler today, highs will be in the upper 70’s. I’m just having a cup of coffee right now and I’m working on a grocery list. I’m going to make a Target run in a little bit and stop at the butcher afterward. I’m also having lunch with my mother today. That’s about it. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!!!
xx

My legs are exhausted. I had a hard run tonight followed by a league (frisbee) game.

I have been absent for just over a week. I was in Edmonton from last Wednesday until Sunday. From Thursday until Saturday, I competed in the Canadian Ultimate Championship.

Earlier in the year, we felt as if there would be heavy competition at the tournament. Instead, our closest game was 14-7... and then we won the finals 15-7 to become 2019 Canadian Ultimate Masters Champions! Masters is 33+ years old. I'd say from a team of about 28 guys, I've been playing with about half of them for 5-10 years, so it made everything a lot easier for most of us.

I'm near the bottom right of the team photo. And a photo of me with the trophy. Yay! ...Oh, and despite it being regularly above 90 degrees in Ottawa for much of the summer, it barely reached 60 degrees in Edmonton.

Go Bucs! Unless they're playing the Cubs. Then go Cubbies!!! ;)

Happy Friday! Fall weather preview has arrived! Such a big difference from yesterday's temps in the 90s to today's temps in the 70s. Shut off the AC this morning and opened my windows. Last night and my hubby and I were coming home from the store I saw a bunch of trees where it's leaves have already started to fall off. Hope everyone has a great day!

The Reds have been tough, of late, but if the Bucs pitching holds up, you may get a hard fought W. ;)
