***** TRAVEL ALERT *****

Well, it's the Labor Day weekend, meaning the end of our rental season. Time to revisit the cottage to see how it fared and to enjoy the beach a bit.
As such, a guest Countdown poster will be needed for two mornings, this Sunday and Monday. (I can post tomorrow's numbers before we leave.)
Any interested party, please apply within. No reasonable offer refused.
(In fact, no offer refused at all. First come - first accepted!)

I went to bed at 8:30 and woke up at 4:30 - how's that for catching up a bit on my sleep. I woke up during the night a few times, but was able to get back to sleep fairly quickly.
We need a Santa waking in his bed image for such an occasion.

I've been suffering with a sinus infection on the left side of my face since Monday and it's been off and on since June. When I was at the dentist two weeks ago I asked if the pain in my teeth and jaw could be dental related, the dentist said it wasn't nerve related likely a sinus infection. I try to get through things without meds. I warmed an oatmeal soak that I've used many times on my shoulder and the back of my neck over the years so I put it on my face on Tuesday and every night since to try and ease the pain; especially when my ear started to ache. It didn't do much for the teeth, but the pain in my ear subsided. I did a hot water bowl and towel trick to drain the sinuses because nothing was coming out of my nose (I know eww).

I caved and started taking antibiotics as regular sinus meds weren't helping at all. Finally starting to work. If it doesn't clear up, I'd have to get an diagnostic image done to see if a duct is blocked or damaged. Looks like the antibiotics are working, my teeth aren't hurting nearly as much and I can finally blow my nose.

I was in so much pain that I could hardly think straight and was making errors in posts in the game section and three times during the week I was looking for my sunglasses which were already on my face or in my hand. Geesh.

Hoping I've got this sinus thing turned around and can enjoy the long weekend.

Keep a merry thought in your head and may you never have to endure such intense sinus pain.

Speaking of merry thoughts - I had a pumpkin spiced muffin yesterday. I don't eat cookies, cakes, pies, chocolates or candy, but I had to have one just so I could tell you about it.

It's not even the "bers" yet and coffee retailers are switching their summer flavours out for pumpkin everything.

I'll post Sunday Crown! And leave Monday for someone else if they want it!

Good Morning, Folks.

Well, hard though it may be to believe, we once again find ourselves at yet another Weekend Eve. They come and go like ghosts, don't they?
And our daily numbers and Milestone markers.
They pass like ghosts, too.

But to get into the spirit of things, here are the latest figures:
Days to the Season: 75
Days to Christmas Day: 117

And we are haunted by the fact that in just 17 more days, we will be arriving at the 100-Day Christmas Day Window, after which, BOTH of our counts will number in double-digits.
(Scary, to say the least!)

Cooler yesterday but the humidity was still there. All in all, not really so bad.
Today, we are supposed to reach a high of 88, with a zero percent chance of precipitation.
Our particular Weekend Eve has commenced here at 63 degrees.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And I hope a truly Magnificent Weekend will be yours for the enjoying!
Thanks Crown! Happy Next to Last Day of August!

I'm glad the medicine is working, and you're feeling better!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

We went out to dinner with Jacob and Elizabeth, and I enjoyed every minute of it! Jacob had to leave after dinner to play a gig, but Elizabeth rode around shopping with us for a bit, then we talked for another half-hour about school. I think she's enjoying it LOL.

We have a long, wet weekend coming up, but right now it's sunny, breezy and it was 68° when I got to work. Love it!

I hope y'all have a great LONG weekend! :D

Hope everyone is well! My husband and I just returned from a four day trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto. We had been to Niagara Falls twice together in the past but both times were in the winter for my birthday and the falls were usually mostly frozen. This was his first time them in warmer weather. We then headed up to Toronto to see a concert, Blue Rodeo. Many of our Canadian friends up north here at MMC responded a few weeks ago when I asked if they knew of/listened to them. I have been a fan for about 25 years and have only seen them once, in Cleveland in 2000. They don't seem to come to the US very often so I finally convinced my husband to take me to Toronto to see them. I can honestly say it was one of the greatest musical experiences of my life! They were absolutely fantastic!! And Toronto is such a beautiful city. I had been there once at age 12 but that was a loooong time ago! It was a much needed short vacation for us. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Glad to hear you guys had a great time!

Good morning MMC ~
It’s going to be partly sunny today with a high of 70-75, we’re currently at 62 degrees. I just heard on the news that Starbucks Fall food and drink lineup will be hitting the stores today :)
I visited my parents yesterday and my father is continuing to struggle to do things on his own. I decided I’m not going to take the preschool job because my mother just can’t do it all on her own. It’s okay though, I only took the job because I was just looking to get out of the house for a couple of hours. I thought it would be a good idea to keep myself busy because my middle one will be looking for an apartment soon. So I will be added to the list of empty nesters. Where do the years go?
Anyway, it will just be a typical day of errands and chores. I’ll see my parents this afternoon. Dinner will be tacos. First I’m heading out to take Rocky for a nice long walk.
I hope everyone is well and has a great day!
xx

Continued prayers for you and your parents!

Thanks, Edge.
Would anyone else out there like to take a shot at Monday?

I've got you covered for Monday; go and enjoy one last dip in the water.

Busy day at work; got a lot accomplished, but truly only two things that were on my to do list; other stuff came up that took my attention.

I just realized I forgot to log out and was about to circulate an attachment - it can wait until Tuesday - but if it looks like I'm still "active" and I don't reply to emails, it would appear rude. I can hope that everyone is busy with the long weekend and won't notice.

Going over to my dad's tomorrow to loan him my husband's Samsung Galaxy phone to try for three months before he goes out and buys one He has a regular cell with no internet access which is what he wanted, but after he saw how useful my maps were compared to his old GPS device, he wanted to explore it. Gary never used it so it's brand new. I was going to start using it for a spare camera in emergencies, but he'll get more use of it and decide if he wants to buy one. I suppose I could sell him that one unless he wants a new model.

His neighbour contacted me on Facebook concerned that he was moving because he found out they were selling their home. I comforter her in the simple fact that he was getting chores done that were long overdue.

Those were the neighbours who came to visit with my mom after Church on Christmas Eve and just three nights later she passed away.

That year, I gave them a gingerbread family making kit. Last Christmas, I gave them a lovely Hallmark ornament with a white front door and a red wreath on it with a note in the Christmas card about the comfort and joy she received from their many visits and watching their four children grow up and what a beautiful moment it was to witness their love for her. She considered them friends.

Mom's last Christmas was like a Hallmark film. Last year, was pretty subdued compared to previous years and we nearly "skipped it", but my dad finally decorated and invited a few people in to celebrate the season which included some memories of mom, food and festive music. I couldn't stay as long as I would have liked because I knew my husband was waiting for me and needed me.

I really don't know what my plans are for this Christmas, but I booked the full two weeks off from work because I didn't know what kind of mood I'd be in and wanted to make sure I had time to experience some joy and let the sadness in if it feels right.

Sometimes I wish O'Malley was a dog so he could come with me or go to a doggy retreat, but he's a cat and pretty set in his ways so if I decide to go somewhere, it will only be for three days.

Sure would be nice to get an invite to Christmas Dinner somewhere - if my brother comes with a friend to visit; we'll get some festive yum-yums, but not turkey since he usually winds up with pickerel and the sides that go with turkey dinner - he's a vegetarain, but eats fish and my dad has a g-tube so he consumes astronaut food through his stomach.

Wow - I really went on and on there; I'm feeling fine - just thinking out loud on paper so to speak.

Stay jolly -lights-

Calling all Hallmark movie fans … get your popcorn ready ...

The film that was shot 40 km away from me airs tonight and a series will surely follow.

When Hope Calls is similar feel to When Calls the Heart.

2 cups Auntie? Lolllll I have that before I even get out of bed. I have an espresso machine on my nightstand. It’s great late night drinks. Omgggg I need one now. Yabba!

And this morning, I'm pulling a Crown and having a cup of tea.

Thanks, Auntie.
(Maybe O'Malley would like to do the count!)

Well if there are spelling errors - yule know it's the cat that is doing the countdown post.
