Good Morning, Milestone Piners!
(Or should I have said "Milestone 'Pinesers"?)

Yes, Folks. Not only is it a Milestone Day, it's also 'Pines open house Wednesday and Carl couldn't be more delighted!
(But a discussion of our zany camel will have to wait until the statistics are presented.)

Days to the Season: 49
Days to Christmas Day: 91

Here we are, Guys. At the THREE-QUARTER MARK TO CHRISTMAS DAY!
And the only thing to look for now before the Season arrives is the 90 percent, Home Stretch point.
(Holy Moly, we've covered a lot of ground!)

We are back into a semi-summer mode for the foreseeable future with rather warm, dry days but not overly high humidity.
Our center day of the week has begun here at 66 degrees, headed for the upper 80's by afternoon.

OK. By now you know how our friendly activities director gets when open houses fall on Milestone Days. Get ready for some extra wild entertainment and great deals on fired twinkies and Carl's special tea blends.
Could the fact that we are 75 percent of the way to Christmas mean there might be 75 percent discounts on some of the gift shop merchandise? Show up this evening and see for yourselves!

In the meantime, have a Wonderful Wednesday, Friends!

Thanks Crown! Happy Late September!

Merry Pines Day and Happy Milestone Day MMC!
It’s going to be a nice day, sunny with a high of 75 degrees. I’m heading out soon, I have a doctor appointment to review some blood work results. Other than that it will be a typical day of errands & chores and dinner will be pasta with bolognese sauce. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day, see you tonight!
xx

Happy Milestone Day, MMC!!!

I’m going to enjoy some QVC while working around the apartment. I’ll probably run to Target too and maybe stop by Jo Ann’s to see what they have out. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

What's a Rudolph day? It sounds FUN. And what is the "Christmas Blossom" that everyone mentions from time to time? Could someone be so kind to answer a question for a NEWB, or provide me a link for me to do my own research? Thanks friends
Rudolph Day (or Rudy Day, as some of us call it) is the 25th day of each month, to commemorate the 25th of December. Just a small monthly reminder of Christmas-to-come.
-reindeer-

Christmas Blossom is a thread that gets started sometime in the last quarter of the year, where we post pictures of early Christmas decorations in stores, or on homes, etc. Lots of fun!

Here's a link to last year's Blossoms thread.

Don't think the bud is quite ready to spring open just yet but soon, very soon!

I smelled the buds the other day... and they're quite close to blooming. :)

It's the final Pines Day before the opening of the Blossoms thread! That in itself is a milestone! :D

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

It's going to be in the mid to upper 90's this week, but it's still the Bers, so I can live with it.

Nancy and I are considering going to the mountains for the weekend, to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Our anniversary is actually in November, but Elizabeth's birthday is on the same day, and she likes to go with us to the mountains LOL. The whole month of October is out with our crazy schedule, too. I just wanted to go when it was cold, but I might have to settle for 70's. We'll see.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

@Bradmac has some great answers. You can also check out rudolphday.com too.
And for your next questions, which I asked also and I'm sure you will to, "Who is Carl? What is The Pines? and What are Fired Twinkies?", checkout this link.

OH MY GOSH! That is so awesome. Let me tell you what my wife and I do on the 25th of each month. We call it "Mini Christmas". We keep out a small 3 foot tall Christmas tree in our living room all year long, and decorate it for each Holiday / Season, etc. On the 25th of each month, we give ourselves one "Christmas" present (under the little tree of course!), burn a Christmas candle or Christmas wax warmer, and usually watch a Christmas movie that evening. We also play Christmas music that day. It is a terrific reminder that Christmas is coming, and also serves the primary purpose of keeping me from getting the Post-Christmas Blues when all of the other house decorations come down and the place looks empty.

And the Christmas Blossom thread is awesome. We live 3 miles from a Hobby Lobby, and they had their Christmas stuff beginning to go out at the end of April / Early May. And it's grown in size every week since then. It's one of my favorite things to do in the spring, is start "stalking" the Hobby Lobby after Easter has passed. I more or less have it pinned down to the 4th week in April to the 2nd week in may. This helps me feel better as I realize that as sad is it may be in January when Christmas is over, I only have to weather (no pun intended) about 4 months with no Christmas stuff in the store. That's where Mini Christmas / Rudolph Day fills the gap/void for us.

Thanks for explaining to me. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME HERE!!

May 1st is when I saw my first glimpse of Christmas at Hobby Lobby. I've been in there every week since. :)

Carl need to come up with some special coffee blends too for us non-tea drinkers ;)

Here I am checking posts and eating dinner at the same time. I'm having sliced turkey and sliced potatoes (like scalloped only without all the sauce). I offered a sliver of turkey to O'Malley and he hesitated. I said, "If you don't like turkey, you can't come to the Pines; unless you're a vegetarian, Carl may revoke your membership." He said, "Maaaaw" and ate the turkey. He's a committed Christmas turkey just like his ma.

I won't get much time for posting in the morning, but will make it this way for before the gathering at our favourite INN.

Stay Jolly -lights-

Roscoe is a turkeyholic. As soon as the bird begins to share its fragrant wonderfulness, mid - roasting, he will implore any one who gets near the kitchen to give him his Thanksgiving treat.-gift-

Good afternoon ... Hard to believe we are just 3 months way from Christmas! Last night when I walked into our local grocery store they had their holiday baking section all set up and filled. It was great to walk into store and see a whole wall of shelves filled with all that goodness! Finally got all my apples process. Ended up with 8 jars of apple pie filling, 13 jars of apple sauce and 12 jars of apple butter. Canning season is now over for me. It's a lot of work but I love the end results. Well lunch break is almost over. Hope everyone has a great day!

Welcome home, my friend. Welcome home. :)

Thank You so Much. I still remember the first time I discovered the 24/7 Christmas subreddit on reddit. And I remember how it made me feel, knowing that I was not alone in being obsessed with Christmas 24/7. I was always the only person I knew out of my whole family (They say my grandfather was this way but he passed away when I was young), and all of my friends growing up. And then not long after that I discovered this site. It was really a wonderful feeling knowing how many of us are out there, when for so long I felt like I was the only one!
