O'Malley the cat was excited from the shenanigans are the Pines; he could hardly sleep. I thought he would have been exhausted.

So much fun with our three-humped host.

Binger did you notice Crown taking a nap in Bradmac's golf cart inside the giant hay maze at the Pines party? They can sleep anywhere.

I saw a spooky thing in the corn maze that made me scream. The glowing eyes with no body - EEEK!

It's not even Halloween yet, but we're already experiencing a little haunting party.

The orange, yellow and black jelly beans were a hit with some of the regulars.

The best part for me was doing the limbo under the autumn garland.

So many different pumpkin and caramel blend drinks and treats to sample.

It was funtastik!

Merry Morning, java anyone?

Enjoying my large S mug of medium roast coffee with a hint of cinnamon and table cream.

Went to bed about 9:00 p.m. and thought I could have gone by 7:30, but I forced myself to stay awake longer.

Had a bunch of dreams during the night. The funniest one was getting into a slight fender bender. Got out to examine the damage and realized I could see the ground through the other driver's vehicle. She was driving a larger version of a toy pedal car and as I turned to look at my car, it was a bumper car without the huge pole attached to keep it running. The driver was handing me monopoly money to cover the damage, but there was no damage to my bumper car, but I had my hand out for the money anyway.

That's the kind of nonsense that roams around my head until a song gets stuck.

It was a Tiggerish kind of night, but I kept managing to get back to sleep.

Up at 4:15 thanks to the O'cat alarm.

Have a great day - I see the weekend in sight. +g

Merry Thursday MMC!
It will feel more like Fall today. It’s going to be cloudy with showers and temperatures in the mid 50’s. I don’t have too much going on here, I just have to pick up a prescription refill at Rite Aid. I might take a ride to the Christmas Tree Shop as well, I haven’t been there in a long time. Other than that I will be working on the laundry. Dinner will be roasted chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy and green beans. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a great day!!!
xx

Good Morning, Post-Hump / Pre-Weekend Eve Christmas Pursuers.

Yes, it's that middle day between the middle of the week and Weekend Eve.
What better day to pause, take a deep breath, sip a cup of tea, down the fired twinkie you brought home from the 'Pines last night and read the latest data release?

Days to the Season: 41
Days to Christmas Day: 83

But don't pause too long or you just might miss our next Milestone! It's only FOUR days up the road (barely over HALF a week) and it is the 90 percent marker to the Season.
(So close, it would be scary if it wasn't so wonderful!)

Wow. Never thought I would see heat like this here in October. We hit 96 yesterday and today's high is predicted to be 98. Holy Death Valley, Batman!
We begin this NC day at 72 degrees, here.

But be ye hot or be ye not, you have a Thrilling Thursday, Everybody!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

I'm taking my truck to the auto body shop today. It's such a pain to be without it; I have all my hand tools and other things I use regularly in the toolbox. I took a lot of that stuff out, but now it's all in my shop instead of in my truck where it should be. Just irritating, I guess.

It's going to be in the mid-90's today and tomorrow, but we're finally getting a break to the mid-80's starting Saturday. I hope it holds!

And I hope y'all have a great day! :D

One more day of hot weather! It will be 90 here today but supposed to be a high of 60ish tomorrow. I will believe it when I see it. I can't wait to be able to shut off the air conditioning and open the windows. Partly because I like to air the house out and partly because an open window is a feline magnet and all 5 of my cats will be in the window thus not under my feet for a bit! I met my brother for breakfast at Cracker Barrel this morning and saw that they had all of their beautiful Christmas merchandise out. I bought a really pretty blue snow globe with snowflakes all over it that lights up. I don't even decorate with blue very often but for some reason I COULD NOT leave without it! I am weak when it comes to new Christmas stuff! I hope everyone has a great day!

My sympathies to everyone experiencing unseasonably high temperatures. It has started to feel like Autumn weather where I am. The leaves are falling and there's a definite chill in the air. The heat has been turned on tonight for the first time this season.

A bad storm was forecast for this evening and I was preparing for that. It changed course slightly and lost intensity as it approached, so fortunately we missed the worst of it.

Hot temperatures...? We're only reaching 10c/50f tomorrow. It even says we might dip below the freezing mark for the first time since the beginning of May. I really do need more Christmas this weekend.

Merry Tuesday!
Merry October!

Apparently my brother is in no shape to get out of rehab yet (although the nurse I talked to this morning said he was doing better), so I have a bit of time on my hands to finish getting the place ready. Monday the new furnace guy comes to do the yearly check. Earlier in the year the company we had been doing business with since I was in grade school sent out someone new and he didn't put all the screws back into the squirrel cage and it fell partially out. Sounded like a helicopter in the house. He had to come back out and the company charged us another service fee. Time to switch to someone new!

Just work and organizing for me the rest of the week. I am hoping to make it out to the rehab center to see my brother, but if not at least I can talk to him on the phone. He is eating better and his hair is starting to grow back. I think it has been over two months since he had the radiation treatments ~ hard to believe. Time is going by in a strange way of late what with all the stress and worry I've been under. That is why I am so thankful to come here and visit with everyone and to listen to Christmas music ~ great stress reliefs! :)

The leaves are falling off a few of the trees now although there hasn't been much color changes yet. Rain and storms in the forecast for the next several days and the temperatures are going to drop down into the low 40s at night. Today it is going to be in the mid 80s.

Have a merry month of October, my friends!

Prayers for your brother, my friend!

Stopping in to say hello. Can't seem to stay caught up and I apologize for that! It's been busy here and had an emergency with a close friend. I've been at the hospital several times when I can. DH, the kids, the dogs, and myself are going camping tomorrow evening when I get off work, which I'm looking forward to and need. It will be great relaxation and just some nice time to get away. Hoping to try and read the rest of the post here before bed, but I'm getting sleepy - I had class with two test here at work today!

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

Another large limb broke from the pecan tree behind our house. This one didn't do any damage (thank You, Lord!), but it was partially inside the carport and too big to manhandle. I got the saw out yesterday afternoon and cut it up into manageable pieces. A small branch poked me in the eye, and it's still sore, but if that's the extent of the damage, I can live with it.

Last week, the contractor who is building our new office hired a subcontractor to spray expanding foam insulation in the walls. My truck was parked nearby and the wind was really blowing, so I wound up with a light coating of foam insulation on it. Now I have to take it to a paint shop (at the contractor's expense) to see if it can be cleaned, or if I have to have a new paint job. I don't want to be without my truck for so long, but they are also renting one for me, so I can't complain too much.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Glad all the damage that was your done to your eye!

Typical work day for me and then looks like we are getting some fall weather! There was another person that died from Equine Encephalitis from a darn mosquito in the next town over. And someone in my town is in the hospital with it. Very scary!! Never before have I been hoping for a colder weather and a frost. We are definitely staying inside during dusk..
Hope you all have a great day!

Wow! That is very scary!
