Good Friday morning! I had a day off yesterday and after getting a few chores done and running a few errands in the morning, I just crashed and napped for most of the afternoon. Some days are like that.

I looked all over for small plush cats to complete my crazy cat lady costume and didn't have any luck, so plan b is going as a lumberjack. Got the red plaid shirt, black tuque, got a plastic axe, now to find a beard (or use makeup?). A few houses in my area really went all out to decorate for Halloween, makes it really fun.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Halloween TGIF MMC! We may be changing our pizza plans for Halloween to steakburger/fries. Either way is a win huh? I think that I'll be getting some pizza tonight. It's been a busy week at work. I definitely was glad when the alarm went off and I realized it's Friday. Have a Happy Halloween TGIF!

Your posts just keep getting better and better, Auntie. Consider volunteering for one of this year's Special Post series messages!

Sure; that would be wonderful. -list-

Merry Pines Day!
Not too much going on here today. It’s going to be a nice day, sunny with highs near 64 degrees. Chloe has a vet appointment later this afternoon, it will be the first time she’s seeing our veterinarian. Fingers crossed that goes well. Other than that I will be working on some chores around the house. Dinner will be raviolis and meat sauce. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a great day!!!
xx

I remember O'Malley's first Vet appointment. He was pretty young and was going in for a full check up as well as being neutered which I sometimes regret, but believe there are enough cats running around that need homes.

Anyway, the Vet tech's daughter had a sliver in her finger and she was crying when they were removing it. O'Malley started to let out a cry like a female in heat and all the staff could hear him and instantly fell in love with his compassionate kitty heart.

O'Malley was nearly flushed down a toilet by a toddler when before we rescued him. They had to give him 2.5 doses of earmite meds, but other than that he was purrfectly healthy.

Hope Chloe's appointment went well and she realizes what a lucky pup she is having you for a "mom".

Happy grumbling Wednesday
- I'm at the office working
- It's October and again the temp will be in the mid-90s
- Through some weird circumstances there is NO coffee in the building

No wonder it was grumbling Wednesday in your office. I have a container of instant coffee just to make sure the team doesn't go without if there isn't any for a pot or Keurig.

Have a wonderful time at the concert! Sorry to hear of her passing - prayers to her family and to you as well. I'm sure she was a wonderful person, especially if she reminded you of Louann. What a wonderful person she was and what a great big heart she had. I know we all miss her here. <3

Yes, it's nice to have reminders of Lou's precious time with us; truly gone, but never forgotten.

Good morning friends. Day off here and DH is working, plus the kids are in school, obviously. I think I may head out and do some Christmas decoration hunting. I really don't need anything. I don't have room for what I have now, but I always like to get some new stuff every year and just like to see what the stores have, so if I do decide to go, I'll take some pictures for the blossoms thread. I don't have anything else planned for the day. Hope you all have a great one!

I'm still in search of a new wreath for my door. I change them up every week after our Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas Walk, but this year it isn't until Nov. 29th so I'll put up the first one at the start of that week. I want something without too much glitter and not too large and one that I can leave up longer than the ones I have now.

I lack the storage space, BIG TIME, but maybe I can pick one up that hovers in the air once it comes off the door. HaHa.

This sounds very familiar :)

It's fun shopping for decorations, though, so I still do it every year.

Finally figured out how to sync all the Christmas songs on the computer to my iPhone ...phew! Now I have 305 Christmas songs on my phone, that's nice.

I certainly miss the days of pulling a Christmas record out of the sleeve and putting it on the record player (Oh, how I loved the Time-Life Christmas Music Collection), but, times change, and on we go.

Have a great mid-week, Christmas friends!

My heart just fluttered and skipped at the memory. I remember one brother yelling at the other, "Get your greasy hands of the grooves of my record!" Rivalry at its finest.

I even enjoyed the slight motor noise of the arm readying for position and the needle touching down onto the vinyl. When the record was over it either got flipped or we'd do the stack and play thing and choose the sides we most wanted to hear from 3 or 4 different albums.

At Christmas, the crooners, Mario Lanza, etc. would get the most ear time.

My dad still has one, guess we could play some old vinyl music over Christmas.

Thanks for bringing that memory up front.

I've thanked a lot of you individually, but I must say that the surgery went well. I had anticipated that I would be sedated for the surgery. Instead, I was only frozen and had to take a needle. I don't do well with needles - at all. I've also had a fear of being away during surgery, so I didn't react very well to the entire procedure. I tried to focus on other things although it was difficult.

Much to my surprise, my leg has not really been in pain at all today. I was also not prescribed any painkillers and only told to take Extra Strength Tylenol when needed. Now, I'm just hoping that all of your kind words and thoughts lead me to a speedy recovery. Thank you for that, once again.

I hope you're all having. a great Thursday!
I don't like needles, either, but I'm glad you doing so well!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

I'm still a little woozy, doggone it. Maybe it'll clear up one day soon.

Nancy & Elizabeth are going to the Fox Theater in Atlanta to see Wicked tomorrow. I think Lulu and I will stay around here and ride around in our truck for some fresh air while they do that. ;)

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Awkward Anniversary Dept: My brilliant bride is out of town on the afore mentioned family business, while I work and take care of the cat. We marked the wedding remembrance with a quick exchange of heartfelt Messenger phone blips, this morning...Not even close to romantic, let alone swoon worthy...We'll properly address this axle breaking pothole "celebration" down the road. We have tickets for the Michael W Smith - Amy Grant Christmas at the beginning of December. It is our belated night out.-sing-

At the Elton John concert, a couple seated in front of us were celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary, his second marriage (she was about ten years younger) and she surprised him with the VIP tickets to the concert. I said, "And you didn't get upset with the cost of your surprise." He said, "NOPE; I cried." I said, "She's a keeper!". Then she approached and my friend and I told her how wonderful she was not only for getting the tickets, but for keeping it a secret.

Happy Anniversary! -smooch-

Merry Tuesday!

So there was good news/bad news regarding my brother's condition. The good news is that the chemo is working on the lungs and the doctors are pleased with his progress in that department. No word on how the lymph nodes and bones are doing. The bad news is that there is another spot on the brain and my brother is still not eating and he has refused a feeding tube. Tomorrow he has consults with the radiologist and his oncologist. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm sure you feel helpless in this situation; just keep the love flowing and we'll keep the prayers going.

TGIF!! I am enjoying some coffee and going through emails. My oldest daughter and I are going on a college visit tomorrow but I borrowed a wheelchair from her PT office since I don't think she will able to walk the whole route.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good evening, everyone!

It's been another busy week. My race went well on Sunday. For those that were wondering, I ran a marathon in Quebec, just north of Montreal. I ran it in 2 hours 55 minutes and 40 seconds, which means that I qualified for the Boston Marathon in 2021... I now just have to be accepted when registration opens again next year.

It feels weird to say this, but I have two days "off" starting tomorrow. Actually, I have surgery tomorrow. It's nothing serious, only a small procedure. Even so, I will be off my feet for 2-4 days. We'll see how it goes. I hope to get a lot of work/preparation done during the next few days.

Even though this is usually my favourite time to see everything blossoming in stores, I won't be able to go anywhere now until after Halloween. It's a real disappointment, but that's how it goes this year.

I hope you all had a wonderful 'Pines Day. I'll do my best to visit tomorrow although I likely will be heavily sedated.

Congratulations on your running achievement. I have friends who made it to Boston a few times and the Goofy run in Disney World.

Heavily sedated posts can be rather jolly for the rest of us.

Take care.

Happy Thursday everybody! I can't believe that in just two short months it will be Christmas Eve!!! So today is Rudolph Day-Eve, or for my friends at other online places, "Mini Christmas Eve". My wife is actually cooking a mini-version of what she plans to be our Thanksgiving dinner this weekend as a test of sorts, she is salt-water brining an entire turkey and we've never tried it this way, so we are doing it as a test before we actually have to do it on Thanksgiving "For real".

And on Sunday, i am actually going to finally be pulling the tubs and boxes of outside lights and decorations down, as the plan is on 10/31 to hang everything up so that night after Halloween is over, i can turn on everything and be ready :)

Oh and one last little thing i'll share - my wife's sister has been bugging her family to put up their CHRISTMAS TREE on Friday of this week since it's the 25th. They usually won't put the tree up until well after Thanksgiving, but she complained a few nights ago that she doesn't get enough time to "enjoy" the tree. My mother in law is out of town, so she may just come back to quite the surprise in their great room!

-season- LOVE THIS MERRY POST!!! +h

OK. I edited my post for spelling issues twice, and I'm still finding problems LOL. Please forgive my foggy brain today!

HaHa I confused a few people when I kept making errors in the games section while taking antibiotics - but it was the sinus infection and pain in my shoulder that were to blame or maybe it's when I had the cat typing for me. HeeHee.

Get better and everything will be right again - especially for Lu.

Weekend Eve, Folks. Another one has arrived. The last one before Halloween!

It's another Good Morning here at MMC. The latest numbers have been released and are ready to be published.
Let's get to them, straight away.

Days to Halloween: 6 (UNDER ONE WEEK TO GO!)
Days to the Season: 19 (Down into the teens!)
Days to Christmas Day: 61 (ONE MONTH from today!)
(Those numbers are starting to look mighty small, aren't they?)

Sunny, pleasant conditions are the order of the day and should prevail right on through the weekend.
We are planning to go to our annual NC State Fair tomorrow morning and it should be a great day for it!
Presently, it is sunny with a thermometer reading of 57 degrees.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Everybody.
Enjoy your Weekend Eve to the fullest!

Happy Friday! And for me Happy I-Don't-Come-Back-To-Work-Until-November 4!

Coffee has returned to the office!!! Oh, happy days!

Temp will still be in the 90s today and tomorrow, but Sunday it is supposed to PLUNGE into the 70s and stay there for a while. Can't happen soon enough.

Another all day session training a new manager. I won't get much work done, but the day should fly by.

Enjoy!
