Hello all.
For those who have followed the health and info for my mother-in-law, I want to say thank you.
Sadly, she passed away today after taking a bad turn on Saturday. She will be missed by all, there is no doubt. She was a very wonderful and kind woman with an infectious smile and laugh.

Thanks again for all of the kind thoughts and prayers.
I am very sorry to read about your morher-in-law’s passing. She was fighting all the way. I am sending comforting thoughts to her entire family and to yours as well.

THANK YOU ALL WHO PRAYED FOR US! MY DOG IS OKAY!!

The bump on her gum is called an "epulis", and the vet told us that it was non-cancerous / benign. As long as it doesn't get bigger (there has been no change in size the past month), or get infected or cause issues, he says it is fine to leave. If they ever were to have to do surgery, it is done with a laser and done under general anesthetic, and we would get her back the same day. He told us it was a super easy procedure. So they noted the size of it, and will examine it again next September when she goes back for her yearly shots, just to see if there is any change.

Thank you all so much who prayed and sent positive stuff our way! Now i can get back to continuing to decorate for Christmas!!!

That's a relief; I'm happy that it turned out to be nothing too serious.

I offer up sympathy and empathy on the passing of your mother-in-law. It's always heartbreaking to lose our loved ones and yet, in death, we often begin sharing memories with one another to mark a life well lived. Thinking of you and the family and the wonderful woman who you were blessed to know and love.

Good morning, Hope you are all well??

Have a great day whatever you get up too

I love seeing your signature whenever you pop by our merry pages.

Awake since 4:00 a.m. and catching up on a few things here before hitting the shower.

Last night when I got home from the meeting, I noticed the view from the balcony window. Most of the leaves are off the trees and I can see the distant HWY and intersection. Yup; if I squint just right those traffic lights and car lights resemble Christmas lights. The trees look dead right now, but I remind myself that they are still strong and will provide leaves again in the spring, but for now, I can get a view of the across the creek neighbours lights and the traffic in the distance. Transports seem rather Christmassy, don't they?

Today, I am traveling 35 minutes away to deliver a sponsor package to a child at a school where my friend is a principal. Together with one other person, we sponsored a family of three for a Christmas/Winter wish. I was in charge of buying a snow suit, hat, gloves and socks for the 3.5 year old boy. It's been so long since I've bought children's winter clothing, I had no idea about the prices. I am also tossing in a Christmas book for the family to enjoy, a box of hot chocolate. In their Christmas card this year, my oldest grandson (Josh) and his wife will receive a note about how I spent their Christmas money as a charitable gesture for someone less fortunate.

His brother (Jesse) and his fiancée will receive a similar note in their Christmas card, but their gift is going toward a local "big and small pet" program to provide food, blankets, toys and serving dishes for pet owners who are struggling financially, especially at Christmas.

My oldest granddaughter (Hannah) will receive a note about the personal hygiene products and festive stuffies I am donating to the local Crisis centre.

Her brother (Sam) will receive a similar note about the contents of the Operation Christmas Child packages I'm putting together for a 4-5 year old boy and a 7-9 year old boy. The toys and clothes that are going into those boxes will be similar to things he enjoyed at those ages.

The four oldest grands received similar cards last year and appreciated how I included them in my gift-giving. They're at the age where movie passes and gift certificates for clothing stores don't mean as much as they did when they were younger.

I still buy gifts for the two youngest granddaughters because they are believers and I enjoy watching them opening their gifts.

Mix of snow and rain later today, but sunny the rest of the week.

O'Malley and I will see y'all at the Shispering Pines where I do believe we will see a big change in the décor from our last visit.

Good Morning, One Week To Go Friends!

Can it really, truly be that we are now just a week away from the beginning of our long-awaited and much-coveted Christmas Season?
Can 52 weeks of waiting really be down to just ONE?
The chart says it's true, so it must be. It must surely be.

Days to the Season: 7 (ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 22 (Three weeks from tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 49 (Seven weeks from today!)
Get ready for a fun ride, Folks.

And not only that, our Special Post Series begins THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!
In that regard, we still have one space open. The opportunity is there for one more expressive-minded soul to step forward and be recognized. (The open date in question is November 11.)

A bit warmer yesterday, with lots of sun and only the gentlest of breezes to stir the air.
Today we will reach 65 with 70 predicted for tomorrow before the bottom drops out.
Our present reading is 52 degrees, and it's sunny and calm here in mid NC.

Hey! It's Pines Day. (But I'll bet you already knew that.)
What you may not know is that Carl has a real hum-dinger of an open house planned for next Wednesday, seeing as how Christmas Season 2019 begins that same day. Something to really look forward to indeed!

Think about that now, while you have a truly Wonderful Wednesday, Everybody!

Light dusting of snow on the ground. Certainly is creating that early-Christmas season feel here.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, my daughter and her family moved here a few months ago. They've gone from the sunny climate of southern California and Arizona to the magical four seasons of northern Michigan.

She would always question why I started playing Christmas music on Nov 1. She was adamant it should not start until after American Thanksgiving.

Well, yesterday I went to her house in the late-afternoon for some coffee and a delicious apple crisp she made. As we were sitting there visiting, with the snow falling gently outside the living-room window, she put on some Christmas music. As she looked outside, smiled, and said, "Now I remember why you start playing Christmas music when you do"

She was born and raised here, but has been gone for a decade. She had forgotten a few things about early-November in the north.

Not anymore :)

Have a great mid-week, everyone

A beautiful way to teach younger people to be joyful givers while helping those in need.
