WOW what a fun time at the Pines with our three-humped camel host!

The decorations have already started to reveal a merry feeling. The lanterns along the walkway leading up to the inn gave off a beautiful warm glow and the festive poinsettia garland draped around the pillars were lovely to see. The inside the cascading lights and festive red bows and gold baubles covering the arch was very welcoming.

Carl was waiting to usher us into the auditorium that was also decorated with Christmas trees in all four corners and the candy cane curtains on the stage offered more merriment.

The skit was new; Carl had a large decorated enlarging box oven on the stage. When he put objects into it that were small, the lights flickered and out popped a giant reproduction of the smaller version that had gone into the super oven. He started with a tiny candy canes that turned into a huge all day candy canes.

The wee kitten he put in there with a bag of treats came out as O'Malley the cat with huge gingerbread cookie characters to pass out to the audience to eat while they enjoyed the rest of the show. Am I the only one who had to pick off bits of fur before enjoying my gingerbread cookie? The demonstration continued until our dinner was created in the same style as the treats. Leave it to Carl to offer the treats before the main meal. Did anyone try the cranberry and ginger spiced coffee blend? That was an unusual combination.

I had a dream that I was seated beside MerryCarey playing the piano and I kept getting her refills of hot cocoa so her hands were busy and I could play alone. That was funny because I only know how to play pieces of three songs. At the Inn, I was hogging the whole piano and playing beautifully. As it turns out, it wasn't a dream; it was a magical event that took place at the Pines. I wonder if that was a magic piano with built in melodies.

The music has already started playing and I wouldn't be surprised if we wind up with a merry sing-a-long next week. It's only the beginning, I know next week there will be a bigger celebration as we kick off the "in season" countdown.

-noel- Stay jolly! -season-

Happy Week Into November MMC! A real chill is on it's way for the weekend ahead but first some rain tonight (maybe even mixed with some wet snow). But the sun should be out this weekend which is good to me. I just hope that we get used to the real chill but I'm sure it will get milder again this month. Have a great Week Into November!

Good morning MMC ~
It’s going to be cloudy here with rain late in the day, the temperature will be 55 degrees. Much cooler temperatures expected tomorrow. It’s just a typical day of errands and chores for me. Dinner will be meatloaf, mashed potatoes & gravy and green beans. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx

Good Morning, Folks!

And thus we pass UNDER the one week mark.
Details just ahead.

Days to the Season: 6 (Yep. UNDER A WEEK TO GO!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 21 (Three weeks from TODAY!)
Days to Christmas Day: 48 (Now under seven weeks remain!)
Closer and closer and.......

Pleasant yesterday, while just slightly on the cool side.
Should be REAL nice today, with our high predicted at about 70, but then that's it. We will be sub-freezing in short order as the system from the NW moves in on us, and tomorrow night, we are supposed to be down to 28.
For now, we enjoy a starting temperature of 45 degrees.

OK, Guys!
The Special Post Series. It begins TOMORROW! Get ready for some fun reading.
And we still have one open space, November 11. Step lively folks, to snap up that last spot before it's too late!
*** EDIT: Christmaswarlock has just volunteered for our last spot. The list is complete!! ***

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everyone!

I will do the 11th Crown!

SPECIAL POST SCHEDULE:

Tomorrow (Day 5 before the Season) = e_xander
Nov. 09 (Day 4 before the Season) = Binger
Nov. 10 (Day 3 before the Season) = Brent
Nov. 11 (Day 2 before the Season) = Christmaswarlock
Nov. 12 (Day 1 before the Season) = Auntie Mistletoe

With the exception of our beloved Binger in their traditional Nov 9 slot, the Special Post list is completely different from last year.
This should be interesting, Folks!

Good Thursday morning! We had snow overnight and it continues this morning, but it's melting snow. Other than on cars, there's no real sign of accumulation. Like every day this week, I have to run some errands and I'm continuing to work on chores. I've been (slowly) making my way through a deep clean of our kitchen. I'll be giving away some things in an effort to de-clutter, like mugs. There are only 2 of us but we probably have 10 mugs. I also have to go pick up a coat I had altered at the seamstress'. David and I did not sleep well at all last night so I'll probably sneak in a nap at some point. Have a great day everyone!

I know cedar Jayish. Crown and made do. Very Yabba!
I do! Man...I've said that a few times in my life...Hello Binger you old Codger! What exactly is a Codger anyway, and who is Binger? The mysterious one from the East, Gender-less, opinion-less, proponent of Decaf, all around good guygal...Hey that can be the new thing we call everyone in the world of fluid genders...Guygal...includes everyone...But I digress, hello Binger!

I “lurked” for years before I had the courage to jump in and post. But since then I’ve looked in almost every day.

Same here. I always check in at least once a day throughout the year.

Greetings everyone! Checking in after a LONG hiatus. Family stuff but all good! I don't even know what the special posts are, but I'm looking forward to it! Also I see that I forgot when "the season" starts. For some reason I thought it was November 1st!

Anyway, looking forward to TRYING HARD to be more active during the season and beyond.

Thanks Crown! Happy Week Into November!

Only when @RadioJonD shares a way back image from the site. I go back to it in my merry mind though.
I used to post a Christmas.com anniversary piece here in the countdown each November 14. That's the earliest point I ever located using the wayback machine. I think 1997 was the year or maybe 1999?

The earliest member there I located that actually made the journey to MMC was Snowberry. Sadly, Snowberry passed away a couple of years ago.

Good Morning, and Happy November Christmas friends!
Our Halloween was doused in snow yesterday. We got 7+ inches in our area. It snowed all day. Most of our area does trick or treat the previous weekend, so we had some lovely weather for our trick or treat last Saturday.
We had so much fun with Halloween and both of my daughter's birthdays are on October 31st. We had a party with family last Sunday. All went well, but I am happy to move on to November.
Have a wonderful Friday, All!

Happy Belated Birthday to your daughters!

Hello all.
For those who have followed the health and info for my mother-in-law, I want to say thank you.
Sadly, she passed away today after taking a bad turn on Saturday. She will be missed by all, there is no doubt. She was a very wonderful and kind woman with an infectious smile and laugh.

Thanks again for all of the kind thoughts and prayers.
I'm so sorry for your family's loss.

Good morning, Christmas friends! Halloween was a success in our household. Yesterday, we went out and ate...kinda in limbo between the seasons.

Today is one of my favorite days of the year. The first Saturday of November is
Christmas Tree Day in our house. We set up the tree, put on the decorations, have a good meal as a family, and watch a Christmas movie. The tree is out of the box laying in the floor...and my girls can't stop squealing about it.

Got up this morning about 5:00...went outside and started a fire....and played Christmas music. The first song....White Christmas. I could feel my heart smiling.

That's my favorite classic Christmas song!
