Christmas Countdown - 2019

Good evening all!
Well, we ended up with just a two-hour delay today. The roads were pretty clear overall since it stopped snowing kinda early last night. HOWEVER, more snow this evening and tonight!!! We are expecting another 4 inches or so and it should make the roads quite messy. The snow is supposed to fall until about 8 or 9 in the morning and it will be a bit colder. So perhaps tomorrow we will a snow day?!?!

I hope everyone had a good day and enjoys a relaxing evening.

At least I can say I am finished with the wrapping, etc. I delivered several today and O'Malley and I can almost walk about without being so careful.

Carl is hoping O'Malley can come to the 'Pines on Wednesday for the last open house before Christmas!

Most of the districts around here just did a 2 hour delay but we went to an E Learning day. There was a fatal accident not far from me on the country roads, so I think that pushed them over the edge.

I fell asleep on the rocker recliner last night while I was watching a sitcom; O'Malley woke me; probably didn't care for the snoring.

I had a coughing fit and thought my face was going to crack open.

I watched 40 minutes of the Voice and called it a night.

Surprisingly, I only woke up coughing once during the night. Hurray.

I got three hours straight of sleep filled with dreams.

Ready to tackle the day. Weather looks good for my excursion 1.5 hr. away from here. The same place I went to a few week ago when I neglected to ensure I had food. Taking care of that this time; packing veggies, crackers and dip with two Clementine Oranges.

It won't get chilly until overnight; won't have to plug my car in until tomorrow night.

8 days has me in a panic in case I have forgotten someone or something. Just the shrimp ring I bring to my dads with a few other munchies - I'll get that on Saturday.

Looking forward to the Pines gathering tomorrow night.

Happy 1 Week Until Christmas Eve MMC! I know that sounds almost insane to say. I had a long and crazy day at work. Unfortunately, that's how this week will be right through Friday before I'm off for Christmas break. Round 2 today. Have a great 1 Week Until Christmas Eve Tuesday!

#1 son doesn't talk about his work saving lives as an Advanced Paramedic and Supervisor, but one year he came upon a horrible car wreck and the elderly couple inside the vehicle were bringing loads of Christmas gifts somewhere. They never made it; that shook him more than the usual day-to-day life and death experiences he faces.

I'm always surprised that whenever I pass an accident, it doesn't change my driving. I always hope for the best for the occupants, but it doesn't slow me down. Fear of driving and causing an accident is what caused me to be a late driving bloomer.

They cancel buses in rural communities more than they do in the city, but last year I think there were over 20 snow days.

Hope it's not as bad this year, but better safe than sorry.





 
Good morning MMC ~
Another busy day ahead for me. Back to the groomer this morning, this time with Chloe. I’m going to run through the supermarket quick to pick up a few things before I head back to get her. I’ll give the groomer her Christmas gift then head home to put my groceries away. I’ll probably work on some chores and hang out with the dogs for a bit before I head back out. I plan on going to the outlets this afternoon to do some more shopping, hopefully I’ll finish. We’ll see. I’m making tacos for dinner, at least that’s quick and easy. Oh and my daughter and her boyfriend are coming home from Aruba tonight, I’m looking forward to catching up with them! I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Good one-week from Christmas Eve! And I am freaking out at how close we are to the big day. I haven’t wrapped a single gift. But I’ve been watching Christmas movies/shows each day so far this month, so that’s one thing getting done.

For the next two evenings I’ll be cooking and baking for my family coming over Thursday night. My dad has started having issues with cataracts in both eyes, he’ll see his doctor early January. It’s still in the very early and stable stage, but he has to get this taken care of quickly.

Good morning all!
Well, we did not get as much snow last night, though it is still snowing now, but we added ice to the wintry weather. he result... SNOW DAY! Though I think the school where I teach go more snow than where I live. It is crazy, I only live a few miles away, but the snow/ice line was so thin it made a big difference. My wife's school also cancelled today so we get to enjoy a wonderful, Christmas filled day at home!
We are about to make a nice big breakfast and watch Rudolph!

Well, what do you know about that, now!

Nice and warm yesterday, with 60's for highs. No rain fell, but it was damp from our earlier rain.
Today could see quite a bit of precipitation and possibly some thunderstorms by afternoon.
It is raining lightly here right now, with a temperature reading of 61 degrees.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody.

We actually ended up getting less than an inch but have freezing rain and ice!
 
Merry Tuesday, MMC!!
Well my 103 inches or my intention of saying 1-3 inches turned into less than an inch but we have freezing rain and ice so no school.
I think I am going to place my final order today with Amazon. I just need to run to CVS for a couple of stocking stuffers so not too bad.

Boy are we close! Counting today, I have 5 more work days before a two week vacation!

This weekend I had my first Christmas celebration with some long-time bff's at my house for lunch. We only see each other twice a year so we had a great time and thanks family for letting us celebrate for 6 long hours into the night with no interruptions!

I bit the bullet on Saturday and Sunday morning and got up EARLY to finish up some Christmas tasks. So Christmas cards are done, packages have been dropped at post office, and only waiting on two orders to come in to Macy's for the remaining gifts. The rest of the stuff to be done is fun stuff--grocery shopping, baking and cooking. I'm officially excited and not stressed!
 
Good morning and Merry Christmas MMC. It's a Tuesday Work Day in SoCal. Temp this morning in the car was 42 heading towards 63. Sunny and clear.

Have a trip planned to the local Verizon store to get the boy a new phone. He's still using the S7.

This evening I'll be making the dough for kolacky baking tomorrow. The dough needs to be chilled for at least an hour so having it chill over night will be fine. This first batch is for Friday's office celebration. Even though I'm off this Friday many people asked about the "cookies" I make, so I'll drop the kolackys off Thursday.

Need to get the final out-of-town gifts wrapped, boxed, labeled and out tomorrow. I guess it's at the point of sending things 3 day select.
