Good Morning Friends!!

Is it just me or this website painfully slow?

Let's start over.

Good Morning my Friends!!

Another beautiful day...another cup of coffee.

Hey Crownster...Are you going to watch the new Ken Burns doc on PBS...starts tonight, called.."The WAR" about World War II. I heard some of the soundtrack, lots and lots of cool music which you would love....big band stuff.

Talk to you later! Have a great day.....

Yes. And twice it went down on me in mid-view. The window just closed itself for some reason.
(Binger must have spilled some coffee into the server.
No, wait. They NEVER spill coffee.)

51 days to the Season
93 days to Christmas Day.

Am looking forward to the 4-day posts before the 90% mark myself. A long tradition that now stretches over 3 forums!

Hot weather has returned and we could get mid-90's by this afternoon. The temp stands at 80 now.

Have a Super Sunday, folks.
Have a nice nap on me. (Well, not ON me, exactly)

I was typing while you were posting, Cedar.
If I get the chance, will try to give the program a look.

I saw his series on jazz music a while ago and was a bit disappointed that so many of the Big-Band greats were barely mentioned while just a few, such as Ellington, Basie and Armstrong were done to death.
I realize that jazz originated in the African-American community but felt he gave the white bands short shrift.

fa la la la la!

92 days!

Just a quick drive-by posting....

Crown, I totally agree with you about his Jazz documentary...totally agree. They only did about 10 minutes on Bix Beiderbecke, a great visionary (white) jazz trumpet player. I love Satch... but it was overdone. And hardly anything on Jelly Roll Morton?? ~Maybe he'll do better with war. His "Civil War" one was a GEM, definitely put him on the map. I could almost cry when I think of that fiddle tune by Jay Unger.

BADDDDDDAAAAAAAABBBBBINNNNGGGGBADDABINGBADDABING..

(again, too much caffeine this morning!)

Been hanging around with the Bingster too much, Cedar!

Good Morning, Christmas friends. And welcome to the start of another week's leg in our journey back to that incredible season - our reason for being here.

50 days to the Season
92 days to Christmas Day.
Closer and closer all the time!

A nice 72 degrees here in Raleigh this morning.
Should be a good, clear day - although we still need more rain.
Mandatory water use restrictions are in place, here.

Have a Marvelous Monday, everyone!
I hope your week is off to a great start!

Wake up and brew the coffee, Bing!

Be careful. It's dangerous to get me to nod my head -- ZZZZZZZ.

49 days to the Season. (Under 50 now. Unbelievable!)
91 days to Christmas Day.

It was a crisp 63 when I left for work this morning. Real nice walking weather. (If I just had the chance to walk!)

Have a Terrific Tuesday, fellow Christmas travelers.

Good Morning Everyone !!!

49 days ???? Wow, that's great.

It's too warm here, and humid too. Where's fall??? I'm only just begining to see the leaves changing.
I was at a training school and during a break, in the corner of a room filled with rough looking guys was this guy telling the others how he and his wife were going to celebrate Christmas this year with their 3 small children. It was sooooo quiet. Everyone was listening. It brought some of us older guys back to another time . . . . . .

Suggested listening for today: Singers Unlimited - While By My Sheep

Have a GREAT day.

Touching story Iron!! I was wondering where you went!! Hi to SLGSLG!!!! Yes, Christmas is getting closer and closer. I think fall is coming but taking it's sweet time...that's ok, I have so much to do outside before winter settles in.
The black and sugar maples are starting to turn and it looks like a beautiful color season ahead. Those sumacs are already a fire red...my pumpkin crop was small this year (drought) but one guy hide from view and is "The Giant Pumpkin", a good round size with a solid handle and deep ribs...oh, he's a beauty!

Have a good one friends!

We won't start getting our fall color change around here for another 4 weeks or so.

With it as warm and dry as it is.. I doubt we'll see much color here Crown....

Java has a nice color though.. hmm think I'll go get some.....

My co-workers only let me drink one cup of coffee per shift...I get way too wired, and can't sit still or stop talking.

Ohh.. those meaningful 4 day comments....I get a lump in my throat just thinking about them! Yes Bing... the tradition must continue...for sure. ~Bingster's heart felt comments, and Crown's and Auntie's and Jay's...a special gift to all of us. I really look forward to them!!

Howdy Ho-Ho, y'all!

You know I'm working on something. Must check calender to make sure I'm in town for the special posting moment.

. . . speaking of Fall . . . I sure hope the pictures I took of my Dragon Tree turn out so I can share them. There was a tree, it was rather splendid until the microburst in July 2006 when it became half a tree and I watched it over the winter and I watched it try and pretend it was a tree and then toward's August of this summer, it began taking on a strange appearance. Beautiful leaves on the tree were dancing in the gentle breeze and I said, "that tree has more character than many people I know". My husband only laughed. I notice the weekend before last that it's leaves were beginning to turn. With a bit more rain, they turned quickly and are a deep red - almost old-fashioned Christmas burgundy. The tree still has some green leaves on it and because of the damage it received it has taken on the shape of a dragon. Really - you'll see.
NO - Binger, there's nothing strange in my java - it really looks like a dragon. I love that tree.
