:hello: Hello Christmas lovers!

Got a short story to share (no really, this one is short).

My husband and my father share the same birthday and we were unable to celebrate them together until lastnight.
I thought I wrapped my dad's gift when I secretly wrapped up my husbands gifts (he received his gifts from me on his birthday). So we're just about heading out the door (I had to go to work for a few hours - on a Sunday) when I went into the walk-in closet to retrieve my father's gift only discover it wasn't wrapped.
Uhoh . . . so I searched around. I didn't have time to wrap it with paper. Had to find a gift bag. Well, the birthday ones I have on hand (storage container full) were too small to hold such a large book (The Book of Life 70th Anniversary Edition - kind of fitting since my father turned 70 - shhh don't tell him - he doesn't care for the sound of it). Then I found the perfect bag, although it was in my Christmas gift bag container. Tissue paper - no problem, Scotch tape - plenty. Uh-oh cards were never signed. Whipped them out to the "waiting" husband to quickly sign his and I signed mine.
Then we were off. Honestly, my husband didn't notice the prints on the gift bag or he just didn't say.
I know this seems long, but trust me - it's short.
So we get to my parents place and visit (nice visit) have a delicious pork roast ($25.00 for 2.5lbs - it better have been good) and diced vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. There was Oreo cookie log cake from a local grocer - dad did yard work instead of making a cheesecake - I just had some strawberries . . .
So it's time for presents.
My parents ran out of gift bags too. My husband's gift was in a Christmas bag with an Angel and see-through paper with a slight gold-rust tinge to it.
My father's gift was in a large Christmas bag with a nut-brown background with gingerbread men, snowmen and candy canes on it.
So there you have it. The story of how two wonderful men received birthday presents in October that were hidden inside Christmas Gift Bags.

And that's the short version of my story.

Crown- i think the decorations in our malls are all put out overnight- not a good job for you- loss of sleep ya know- I could do it though- power me up with some dark roast-

Oh, I might be able to stay awake for that!

Speaking of decorations, here is the first one I snapped so far this season.
This will kick off my Christmas Photos 2007 thread I will set up shortly.

This was taken in the newly set up Christmas section in our Belks store

Top 'O the morning to ye!
(I'm feeling a little Irish today)

21 days to the Season. (Wow! Only 3 weeks to go!)
63 days to Christmas Day.

Again, a nice commute with the temp at 64.
Promises to be a warm (for this time of year) mid 80's this afternoon, but we will only reach the 60's by Thursday. That will feel more seasonal.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, my fellow Christmas comrades!

---Crunch!, Crunch!, Crunch!---
<< What, Carl?
Oh, that's just Binger grinding coffee beans.

One must always crushthe coffee beans just so in orderto get aperfect blend- but carefully as the noise often awakens someone intheir 19th hour of napping.. extra large coffee beans are often needed becuase- well.. you know...... more power forthe punch!!

yabba yabba!

My sons new in-laws supper in Sitka Ak and winter in Hawaii. In Hawaii they have their own coffee bean trees. Quite a few of them. The weekend of my sons and his daughters wedding a few the 23rd of Sept his caretaker in Hawaii called him and told him that they were harvesting the coffee beans and what to do with them when they were all done. He has a special blend that they do. He said to ship them to Sitka for his new restaurant that he is building at the new golf course that he was building. That should be enough to supply the place with gormet coffee for the year. Sniff sniff, I think he should have sent me a taste dont you. OH WELL prob would have been to rich for me anyway. lol But it would be nice to have your own supply of coffee beans now wouldnt it. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Morning all... not been a regular poster around here as work keeps taking up too much of my time, along with trying to move house and planning a holiday which starts in 13 days (not that I'm counting!)

Oh, that camel! He got miffed because they would not give him his own stateroom on the train or his own trailer at the show sites so he decided not to go. As you know, he can be rather impulsive. Just as well, I guess.
(Not that he isn't willing to travel. He would love it if someone wants to host him for a time during the holiday season.)

20 days to the Season. (Under 3 weeks, now!)
62 days to Christmas Day.

Seventy-Four on the old thermometer when I left for the office this morning. That's just too warm for late October.
Not to worry, though. The high tomorrow is only supposed to be in the upper 60's. That will get me in the Halloween mood - OOOOOO!

Well, everyone have a Wonderful Wednesday / Happy Hump Day.

Don't forget to visit my Christmas Photos 2007 thread (and hopefully contribute your own Christmas-related pictures).

Halloween is just around the corner ... and the season is fast approaching!
Have a great day everyone.

Corwn- I thought you wore that costume year long.. you mean it's not a costume?
