It's amazing what smells can evoke such nostalgic memories! That's great, friend, thanks for sharing.Same to you, snowflake!!
My best memory is sitting by the heat register waiting for the heat to kick in and burning off the dust, listening to the LP of Disneys Christmas Carol. I'm weird, but I love that smell.

I don't mind the skunk smell, or gasoline smells from boat rides! Reminds me of camping, or time at the cabin.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to bathe in it or get sprayed, but those smiles make me smile!
Love it!I agree...I don't mind those either...brings back memories of the lake and resort my cousin had when I was growing up. Very similar to your memories. (As long as the skunk is a good distance away)![]()
Love it!
Was the resort in Wisco?
And Amen!!![]()

Very cool, bet it's beautiful!Yes...it was on Chain Lake up near Weyerhaeuser. It's called Backwoods now (I think)
Too bad we couldn't have decorating parties & help each other =]Snowflake I'm getting so excited, can't wait to decorate! Thanks for sharing the pictures <3
No kidding!! It's beautiful, and the views are to die for!Umm, when can I move in?

We vacationed on Long Lake for my entire childhood, into adulthood, until the resort was sold for condos. We still go up and spend time at the lake, I love it there. So many happy memories.
The other neat thing was that the same families went up every year, the third week of July, so we were friends with everyone there. And my dad's side of the family would come, too, so it was neat to see my aunts, uncles, and cousins as well.
Thinking of you, Sean~It was...there were families that lived up there that were always at the resort. My dad was a musician and would play every weekend up there. I loved sitting with everyone listening to him play and entertaining everyone. Of course my moms side of the family would also come up...aunts, uncles, cousins (my dad's side live in South Dakota). There's so many times I wish I could go back there with everyone. My dad has not been with us for 26 years as of the 12th so it cannot happen, sadly, but those are memories I'll always cherish.
