I enjoy having a Peep or two during Easter, but I want them just a little stale so they have some chew to them. I think having them at other seasons, which I am sure is a money maker for the company, makes them a little less special. For those who like some fun and especially for the Peep-haters, like Escalation's wife, have you ever done the dueling Peeps in the microwave thing? So put two Peeps in the microwave facing each other put a toothpick under the "wing" of each one and the toothpicks almost touching the other Peep, set the microwave for about 15 or 20 seconds and watch the fun. One of them will stab the other one and the proofed up Peep will quickly deflate. When I first tired this I thought they would explode but nope they puff and one deflates. Oh, and if you don't mind a bit of sugar overload. Peep's s'mores are kinda good.

I have to tell my wife about the dueling Peeps. That sounds too fun.

Morning Halloween Fans! I bought a big Hershey Kiss from the store marked down from Valentine's Day this weekend. 75% off. Looking forward to trying it out tonight. Can it beat Halloween candy though? That's hard to do. Have a great day!

Happy Wednesday Morning! Wednesday mornings feel pretty good, almost like Fridays, in their own way. Making it to Wednesday is a sure sign that we are making progress, even if it doesn't feel like it. But now, the FIRST WEEK of March is almost half over! And as the hours and minutes pass by, each one takes us closer to Spring, the second of my personal three goals, that I always focus on when January is over. The first goal was the 300 days to Christmas Milestone. The second, is the First day of Spring. That's up next. And the last of those goals, is a little longer out, but still one to get excited for, and that's to begin "Christmas Hunting" at Hobby Lobby in April.

I'm going out on a limb here and saying I figure we are about 3 months give or take from seeing fall & Halloween stuff in Hobby Lobby. Last year, there was no Halloween merchandise here because the factories were impacted from the shutdowns. Hopefully this year is more of a return to what we remember!

Enjoy your Wednesday, or Thursday Eve, or Friday Eve Eve, whatever you choose to call it!

Christmas Hunting has been at the forefront of my mind today for some reason. I know it's still too early, but beyond all reason my brain says, "Why don't you drop by Hobby Lobby this weekend and just check?" I'm ultimately setting myself up for disappointment.

But I'll probably check anyway...

I'm in the same boat. My wife needs to buy some dry erase markers for a sandwich board that she is working on, and we both remarked that we hadn't been to Hobby Lobby since right before Christmas. Now I KNOW that I'm most likely not going to see any Christmas stuff. But believe me, I am going to be checking out that store with a magnifying glass. I don't expect to see anything like space cleared off, tubs/totes on top of the isles until at least the third week of April. But it is going to be fun to go in there just the same!

Good Morning and Happy Thursday! At long last, it seems that the end of the week is finally in sight. It has been a LONG week for me. Almost a year into the pandemic, we had three people at our office test positive. I fortunately was not one of them. So, last Thursday, they had the building fumigated and all of the employees had to work from home for a week. Tomorrow, the building is back open. I have remarked on here before that I absolutely HATE working from home. I cannot believe there are people who want to do it full time for the rest of their lives.

On the counts, some of those numbers are looking, sort of interesting? Before March is out, we will be in the 100's count to October 1st. That's amazing. We will even see a 30's count on the Days to Halfoween.

Not gonna lie folks, Jack O Lantern Day has really been on my mind the last couple of days. Depending on what the weather is like in April / Halfoween, this might be the "last" Jack O Lantern day where we have crisp / cool autumn-like weather before we get to the real thing. The JOL Day's in May, July, and August are almost guaranteed to be sweaty / humid. Last year we were fortunate that August's JOL Day was actually cool / mild. Will we get so lucky again?

Have a great day!

Ha...guilty as charged. Boy, do I not want to go back to the office. Been working from home for a year now and I don't ever want to go back. They are going to have to drag me out of here. :)

Most everyone I know that is working from home is milking the system. They are barely doing anything because they know that their companies have no way to track / check what they are doing, and they are milking it for every dollar they can get doing nothing. Please don't think I am lumping you in that boat, but I am just letting you know my situation.

I'm not built that way, wasn't raised like that. If there ever comes a time where they close my office "for good", then I am fully prepared to leave the job and go get a manual labor / some type of "in person" job. That's just me. Again, no offense meant.

Morning Halloween Fans! Is it Halloween yet? Ok...to be honest this is the one time of year I start to think "Hmm I want to wait a long time to get to October again." Why? Because I need spring and summer after a long cold/snowy winter. Have a great day!

TGIF!
Only thing that would make this Friday better would be if it were one of those October Fridays. The last couple of Fridays, I have had the October Fridays on the brain.

I'm with Edge, I still need the counts to feel sort of long, because I think we all deserve a nice Spring and Summer after the long, cold winter we have endured. But i'll be happy to see the Days to October count get into the 100's in two weeks, and by the time we reach Jack O Lantern day in a few weeks, we will be literally knocking on the door to the magical 200 day window to Halloween.

I hope you all have a great Friday!

No, I get it. That would make me nuts too. Fortunately our employees are good about that stuff. We've always worked with very little oversight so it all translated quite well.

Morning Halloween Fans! It's a bit more than an October chill out there this morning but it still reminds me sometimes of that special month we all love. I just need to see more orange and black colors out there. Have a great day!

Happy Saturday Morning! The great discovery this morning is that the "Days to October" countdown is now in the single digits of the 200 count. Just doesn't seem possible. And the "Days to Halfoween", now comfortably under TWO months.

Another visit to the Lowes garden center is in order this weekend. I like going there almost as much as Hobby Lobby, not quite, but almost!

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Morning Halloween Fans! My friend was texting me yesterday (he's a big Halloween fan) how he's already getting excited for it. I mean he's really one of us ain't he? Have a great day!

Happy Sunday! Here in about 30 minutes, I am going to go over to Lowes. Nothing seems to get me in the Spirit of Fall / Halloween, than observing the progress of the Lowes Garden Center. Why? I have no idea. But it's what's been getting me through this "off season".

Speaking of Off Season, I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday, and can you believe I actually found Christmas Stuff? And also a sprinkling of Fall / Thanksgiving stuff! Now, Disclaimer: My wife told me that it was in the scrapbook section, so it technically doesn't count, but I went there not expecting to see ANY Christmas or Fall stuff, so, you be the judge. Is Hobby Lobby starting "early"? or was this just a coincidence?

Have a great Sunday, folks!

Good Morning and Happy Monday! So many cool things are coming up just on horizon. Wanna know something REALLY cool, IMO? We will set our clocks forward on Sunday, and then the very next day hit the 200 DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST milestone. That's pretty neat, IMO. I don't have to remind anybody how awesome hitting the 200 days milestone is.

You know, It's funny, every year, during the long, hot, humid, miserable summer, I pine away for the days when we end on a cool evening and it gets dark early. But now that we are here raring to go for Spring, it seems like it is taking FOREVER for the time to change. I complained a few weeks back of driving to work in the morning with it still dark out even though it was 7AM or later. So I will be glad to see the time change. But give me about 4 months of the summer, and I will be raring to be able to get home from work with it dark outside.

Have a great day!
