Good Morning and TGIF! We have another weekend on the way, and just like a staple of those magical October days, it's a football weekend. That's right, the Super Bowl. Knowing that we are watching football on Sunday really takes me back to October. It's a good feeling.

And the Halfoween count gets into the 70's next week. Wow. Edge posted this morning that we will also see something else pretty cool next week, and that's the 200 days to THE BERS milestone. That's amazing.

@Rich brought up something in another thread, which is the fact that Daylight Saving Time starts in...what was it...38 days? Now is the time to catch those early sunsets while you still can. When DST kicks in it's harder for me to evoke that Bers/spooky October feeling since it's still daylight outside at 8 p.m. JoL Day in March will be a new challenge for me, that's for sure.

Yeah, I have tons of Christmas candy too. And in another week I can add Valentine's candy too.

Happy Saturday Folks! First full work week of February is complete. Can you believe it is already the 6th day of the month?!

Yep this month is going fast indeed. We refilled the Halloween candy bowl yesterday after the grocery run. It is our lone Halloween item that stays out all year. It's just a solid black ceramic cauldron, so it doesn't clash with any other decorations, etc. Made me think of Halloween when I filled it! It hadn't had candy in it since shortly after Thanksgiving!

Morning Halloween Fans! Loving the countdown. It's pretty amazing that a lot of us still have some Halloween candy left in February. I always feel like I try to keep it about 6 months till Easter and then pick up Easter candy for the spring/summer. Have a great day!

Good Afternoon! I would first like to apologize for being so late with my daily update today. I have spent the morning dealing with Facebook Marketplace as we sold my wife's old Honda Accord just earlier this morning.

Now, down to the present: IT'S FOOTBALL SUNDAY!!!

Nothing to me, gives me more of an October / BERS vibe, than an evening watching football with family. The only other thing that could make me feel more like October is if I was flipping throught the channels and saw Michael Myers or Harry Potter on TV. Wow what a comparison!

And like I said a few days ago, knowing that we are all going to be up there fellowshipping and having a big meal really gets the Holiday vibes going!

I hope everyone has a great Sunday, as we march towards the SECOND FULL WEEK of February!

Good Morning! Second full week of February has now began, and we are heading now to the HALF WAY point in the month. Can it be?

All of the counts look pretty good this morning, Days to Halfoween is jumping out at me this morning because of the realization that we will be in the 70's on that count in just two days. Wow. It will be a Wacky Wednesday indeed to see on the page here that it is well less than three months until we reach the HALF WAY point.

I'm really tired post-super bowl this morning! I wish it was one of those October weekends where I could just doze on the couch in between Halloween movies! Have a great day!

Happy Tuesday folks! Wow we are really closing in on seeing some big changes again in our counts. We're on the doorstep now of watching "Days to Halfoween" drop into the 70's beginning TOMORROW. And this Sunday will be a Happy Valentine's Day indeed because the "Days to October 1st" will be in the 220's, and the "Days to Halloween" will finally get into the 250's. Wow that's huge.

We have snow in the forecast folks, every day this week except today. The last two weekends it has snowed. And that has kept me from going to Lowe's to check the progress on the outside garden center. For some reason, thinking about Spring gets me excited for The Bers. I have no idea why. I speculate it is because once Spring gets here, I "just" have to get through Spring and Summer for it to be Bers time again, so reaching another season is like a countdown in itself.

Happy Tuesday, fellow spooks! Today's the day for the Seasonal Candy of the Week!

But first...surely you've realized by now that this will be the LAST Valentine's themed candy for this year? That's right! By this time next week V-Day will officially be in the books, and we'll be ready to move on to everything else that 2021 has in store, whether it happens to be Easter candy or maybe a special St. Patrick's Day variety.

For today though, I present to you the Strawberries and Cream Lindor truffle:

Depending on the flavor I'm usually a big fan of these truffles, especially the darker chocolate ones, but I'm not too sure about the strawberries and cream variety. Truthfully the only time I think of truffles is during the Christmas season because they look like tiny ornaments in my candy bowl, but I'm thinking that Halloween needs some truffle love this year, so I'll be on the lookout for any new Halloween or Fall themed flavors.

What are your feelings on the Lindor truffle? Love it or hate it (or something in between)? Share your thoughts!

It definitely depends on the type. They have to have a dark chocolate shell and then it depends on the flavor of the truffle. I have to confess I am kind of evil--and not ashamed of it either! Anyway, I always get my kids a little something for Valentine's. My girls like chocolates but my son, not so much. So my girls are getting See's gift cards in cute little mini-See's bags. My son, well he's getting a food gift card but in a cute little mini-See's bag. Told you I am evil.

Happy Wednesday! Well, here it is. "Days to Halfoween" is down into the 70's count now. I remember when I posted the first countdown for Jack O Lantern Day #1. It still felt kind of far off, but I could feel anticipation building more every day.

That's what this is like now for me, seeing that count down into the 70's. Weather permitting, I think a visit to the spring / garden center at Lowes is in order this weekend. Why in the world does seeing Spring stuff get me excited for Fall & Halloween, I have no idea. But it does, lol. I need to buy a seed spreader anyway.

We are under a winter weather watch now. It's supposed to snow off and on here from this evening until sometime Friday, with a chance of smaller storms on Saturday and Sunday. 8-12 inches is the forecast now!

That Halfoween count is flying by. That's a good thing, in my opinion. At the same time, immediately after Halfoween comes Hurricane Season, which I'm not looking forward to this year (or any year). But that's a problem for future me. :)
