Halloween 2021 Countdown!

August. I remember last year our grocery store had almost all of their Halloween candy out before the end of August
I feel like I have saw the beginnings of Halloween candy show up in our grocery store at the very end of July. I know for sure last year they started putting pumpkin spice EVERYTHING out in the very 1st part of August, it was one of the few "highlights" of the lost pandemic year.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Tuesday to you all. Can you believe that May is almost over? It sure seems like the month went by fast. I've always felt like getting under HALF WAY seems to do that with the time. Under two weeks now until Jack O Lantern Day # 3! I've been ready ever since Halfoween ended. I just didn't want the fun time to be over! It felt so much like the real thing between the weather, the cherry cider, and the big TV networks running their own Halloween movie marathon in addition to the one we did here at home! Thank goodness I can "tap into" the Fall / Halloween magic one more time before we start the long summer. Have a great day!

Good morning, fellow spooks, and Happy Tuesday! Those counts are looking better every day, aren't they? Hard to believe that in just a little over a month our count to October 1st will reach 100 days! Until then, let's put the "Seasonal" back in the Seasonal Candy of the Week and take a look at what goodies are on shelves right now!
Now that Halfoween has passed and we're riding a bullet train towards Memorial Day, there's no shortage of red, white, and blue in stores here in the U.S. We're going to see this trend continue through June as well since July 4th is also fast approaching. Today's candy pick not only goes patriotic but also markets itself perfectly as a summer selection: It's Hershey's Red, White, and Blue Cookies and Cream bars!
Notice the star-spangled design of the packaging and the enlarged picture of the s'more front and center. Like I said, this candy just screams "American summer." But beneath the colorful wrapping, these aren't really any different from a regular Hershey's Cookies and Cream bar, except that the cookie bits are different colors. At least you can make s'mores with them, right?
Hershey's Cookies and Cream bars aren't bad, but these pale in comparison to the mint chocolate bars with cookie bits that are released around Christmas. But that's just my opinion - what's yours? Could you see yourself using these to make s'mores, or are you sticking with the traditional Hershey's milk chocolate bar? Discuss this and all of your possible s'more recipes below!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Well here we are once again at the half-way point in the week. Seems like it gets easier and easier to make it here now since hitting the Big halfway marker a few weeks ago.
We have a run of 85+ degree highs for like the next 10 days. Ugh. Its times like that I will long for The Bers. October, and really September to some degree, always gives us such beautiful weather!

I'd grab these as a novelty, cuz why not? But I'd definitely have the more traditional on hand.
Hitting 90 or so here. Bleah. Can't stand it, but it'll make the 'bers that much nicer.
Apparently the re-release of Pepsi Blue is all the rage right now if you can find it. I've never had it before so no idea if any good.
My son would sit and just eat these bars as they are. I think these I would make them too sweet so I would use the normal Hershey's chocolate when making s'mores.
We are hitting the mid 80s today and creating towards the 90s this week. I agree BLEAH! The bugs are bad enough, I am not ready to throw the heat and humidity into the mix yet.
The long, hot days of summer are about to begin. Over time that will only increase our desire and love for the Bers. So bring it on.
I cannot recall ever hearing of Pepsi Blue. Maybe it's a regional thing.
Pepsi Blue is...gross. I tried it the first time around and was not impressed. I'll have to give it a second chance and see if the re-release tastes different than I remember.
Another one to stay away from: Pepsi Holiday Spice. It sounds like it would be good. It was not.
Crystal Pepsi is where it's at.
I agree with both of you. These don't seem well suited for s'mores. Something about the graham cracker with the crunchy cookie bits doesn't work. I'd stick to regular Hershey's also.
Amen. By the time the Bers get here, I'll be so ready. We've had rain here since Sunday afternoon, and the forecast says it'll continue through this Sunday. They even had early release from school on Monday because they were afraid it would be too flooded for the buses to get to some neighborhoods. Thus begins hurricane season.
Heh...LOVED Holiday Spice. Keep hoping they'll re-release. Though we can agree on Crystal Pepsi.
It burned. Maybe my spice tolerance is too low, but it did not feel good going down at all. But just like with Pepsi Blue, I'd give it a second chance if they re-released it.
