Same here. Had a nice 51 a.m. but will be almost 80 today. No humidity though so I'm fine with that! Took forever to get to September 1 and now it seems like it's going to fast. And it's only the third!
Here too! Beautiful weather and loving it!

Good Morning Halloween friends! You know what this is? The first BERS weekend, and hopefully a relaxing and long one.

It's going to be beautiful weather wise, almost zero humidity, with highs of only 75 today. I bet at times working in the shade, it will feel downright cool.

These are the sweet spot weekends we dream about. We wished for them and wished for them, and now, they are finally here.

Saw an advertisement yesterday for "61 days of Halloween" on Shudder, and it made me smile. They saw SyFy's "30 days of Halloween", and upped the ante. I love it. Will be definitely binging.

Have a great day!

My niece called on a non-Halloween related topic (LOL) and she mentioned wanting to have things to look forward to and I seized the moment and asked if she thought the kids would enjoy having another Great Pumpkin Hunt and she seemed enthusiastic and we are aiming for October 9th and 10th, and I am so excited. That is only 5 weeks away!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Day 2 of the LONG, 3 DAY WEEKEND!

I was talking to a man yesterday who works at Costco, he told me that they were expected to do over 1 million dollars in retail sales yesterday. Holy Cow. I would really want to see how that compares to last year at this time. I was thinking about these things because I was reading an article that says that even with the Delta Variant, and the new variants that will keep coming out forever, people are slowly getting back to their old routines even in the face of risk of COVID as they are realizing that people are going to forever have to live with constant virus circulation, etc...

I think last Fall at this time, people were really worried about what the coming months would bring as we were cooped up over the winter. I'm not really getting that vibe now, I know it is going to be bad, but not on the scale of last winter. I don't want anything to damper Fall & Halloween Season, especially not Christmas Season.

E! - was running a Harry Potter marathon yesterday. This is the 3rd marathon I have saw in 3 weeks. September & October almost seem like "Harry Potter Season", which is totally fine with me. Gives me major Halloween vibes!

Have a great day!

Good Morning! I am enjoying the Holiday Weekend and the cooler weather, I especially love the feeling of a Sunday of a three day weekend. Every Sunday brings us a week closer to Halloween! I hope you're having a great Labor Day too, Edge.

Harry Potter just works really well with the Bers overall. The Hogwarts Express departs on September 1st, and then the movies give either major Halloween or Christmas Feels depending on which ones you watch. It's fun to watch them during the rest of the year, but they feel at home during the Bers.

Something I really want to do before my kids grow up is take our family to Harry Potter World at Universal in Orlando, FL. I think I'd probably love it just as much as they would. The only drawback is that it's stretched across two different Universal parks, so to get the full effect you have to pay for entry into both parks. Money-grabbing at its finest.

Disney is no better, but at least I don't have to buy two park tickets to see the entirety of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.

Just 8 more weeks!

WEEKS TO OCTOBER: 3
WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 7

Good Morning Halloween Friends! I had to double check the numbers this morning. I thought I made an error on the "Weeks to October" count. But sure enough, 3 weeks and 5 days from today, we will be in October. For a second, it almost doesn't seem fair. I don't want September to breeze by, and I feel like nobody else does either. So lets make it count.

First thing I do in a new week, is check out the long-range forecast. And it looks pretty good. There's no day hotter than 82 degrees, and we have those wonderful overnight lows in the 50's. The last remnants of heat are trying to hang on, but they are fighting a losing battle.

Hope everyone has a great labor day! I have felt since Memorial day, that people are basically off work at least one day a month from a holiday, every other month (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years). Just another reminder that we are firmly now in the best months of the year!

I like to check the long term forecast too, I had kept a close eye on Labor Day and it had been predicted to be hot and humid, but luckily the closer we got the lower the numbers got, and today it is lovely. The 14 day forecast has nothing in the 90s so I am happy. Seven weeks until Halloween is exciting, but it reminds me that the days will be getting shorter quickly and that I need to enjoy the sunshine after dinner while it lasts.

So trick-or-treating for us has gone from "most definitely" status to a "maybe." Covid numbers are still rising here, and the concern is our four-year old who is not vaccinated yet. Hopefully we'll see the numbers drop in time for Halloween night.

Worst case scenario we have the Great Pumpkin Egg Hunt to look forward to.

Good Morning Halloween Friends!

Summer is officially in the books now. I know that Autumn doesn't "techincally" start until the 21st, but Labor Day concluding has always felt about as official as you can get, that we are in the next season. The weather, houses, and stores seem to agree.

There was a "Child's Play" marathon on TV yesterday. I've mentioned before that Shudder is doing the 61 days of Halloween marathon, but I'm even seeing now other channels seem like they are getting into the mix. Unless I've never noticed it before, I think the TV networks are starting earlier now than ever. No complaints out of me.

We have two absolutely gorgeous days coming up - Thursday and Friday, where it will be 77, and 75 degrees, respectively, with overnight lows in the low 50's. Saturday night may break into the 40's. That's some good sleeping with the windows open weather.

Have a terrific Tuesday, enjoy the short week!
