For some reason, for the end of the 2021 Halloween thread, and so far until my realization this morning, I have been under the impression that Easter was in March this coming year. Easter will not be in March until the year 2024. My thought, then, and now, was that having an Easter in March just might make that long "slog" from January to spring feel a little easier. However, there are certain logistical challenges from the standpoint of Jack O Lantern Day that year. Easter and JOL Day would be on the same day calendar wise. The Halfoween count is exciting to me: Less than 150 days now, and that is just about perfect timing to break me out of my post-winter slog. It's so nice to have something to look forward to in the first part of the year (and Easter is included in that sentiment, lest you thought I forgot about it).
Sounds like a good plan. For some reason, for the end of the 2021 Halloween thread, and so far until my realization this morning, I have been under the impression that Easter was in March this coming year. I think it would feel "wrong" to have JOL Day, and / or "Dark Arts Sunday" on Easter Sunday.
So looking real quick to the 2024 Calendar, I am almost certain that I would hold "Dark Arts Sunday" on March 24th, and then Saturday, March 30th, have JOL Day to preserve Easter as it's own (and rightfully so) Holiday!
No way, I don't think you overdid it. I nice reminder of the fun of Halloween, definitely worth a piece of candy a day.Morning Halloween Fans! I keep eating a piece of Halloween candy per day but I'm not even close to running out. Do you think I overdid it? I don't think so. Have a great day!
I remember "Dead Space." It was pretty intense. I don't know if my wife could make it through that one.DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 147
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 301
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 331
Good Morning Halloween Friends! We are standing on the doorstep here to ANOTHER milestone, the 300 Days to October milestone, which will arrive TOMORROW!
We will see the new week begin with one of our "main counts" down in the 200's and also 30 days away from that point to reaching the 300 Days to Halloween milestone!
My wife has recently started playing "Dead Space" for the first time. It was a video game that came out in October of 2008 that has held up remarkably well, and is even getting the remake treatment, with the "new" Dead Space sit to debut this coming October. Whenever it is on or the sounds I can hear in the background, it's just that little bit of spooky / scary that still exists. Just like finding Christmas stuff / feelings in the "offseason", Halloween is out there all the time I think if we just look hard enough for it!
Have a great day! See you again on MILESTONE DAY!
I don't think overdoing it is even possible. Plus I am right there with you, I still have three-quarters of a basket left and I do have help eating it.Morning Halloween Fans! I keep eating a piece of Halloween candy per day but I'm not even close to running out. Do you think I overdid it? I don't think so. Have a great day!
Sure do. I had them all. Left 4 Dead, the original, was the very first game I ever bought for the Xbox 360, as I was coming over from mostly being a playstation guy. I played it over Thanksgiving weekend in 2008 with my (future) brother in law, and was hooked ever since. Went out and bought a 360 that very weekend for myself!I remember "Dead Space." It was pretty intense. I don't know if my wife could make it through that one.
While we're on the subject of video games, do you remember "Left 4 Dead"? I was just thinking of how cool it was that the "maps" and scenarios were all themed after horror movies. It was really unique at the time, and we had a blast playing that one. It would be a great game to dust off again in October.
They do indeed! This is why I joke with Edge so much about his beloved Summer months, for me they feel like they are 6 months long! But POOF - The Bers go by!That was a fast 65 days. Sadly the best times always go the fastest
We decorate the interior, but we have never decorated the exterior other than maybe putting some pumpkins on the porch and a jack o' lantern out during Halloween week. I would really love to put up some Halloween lights and some yard standees this year.DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 145
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 299
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 329
WEEKS TO OCTOBER: 42
WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 46
Good Morning Halloween Friends! That "Days to October" count sure looks gorgeous at 299 this morning, no?
I had to go to CVS pharmacy yesterday, and was surprised when I went in, that there was still a small isle of Fall & Halloween Decorations. It really surprised me because I haven't seen any stuff like that now in several weeks. Heck, even Walmart is just about out of Christmas Stuff for the "season", and I'm sure they are not far away from starting to change over to Valentine's Day and "Spring Merchandise".
But that's OK. We know that's the way things go in the retail world.
So here is our discussion topic / post to start off this Monday:
Do you decorate your house for Halloween?
We started decorating the outside of the House for Halloween in 2020. It was my first ever time putting "Halloween Lights" up, and I loved it! We used to always put out the pumpkins and corn fodder in September, but that was it! Now, the gradual outside decorating process starts about the 3rd week of August!
Have a great day, friends!
