DAYS TO HALFOWEEN: 139
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 293
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 323

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We are in the 130's now on the Halfoween count! Feels fantastic!

Yesterday I had a conversation with a complete stranger about Halloween, and how I felt it was part of the "build up" to Christmas Season. And to my surprise she agreed with me! I think there's more people like "us" than we probably realize. I really feel like a lot of people are afraid to admit for whatever reason, how much they like holidays.

I look forward to updating the "weeks" counts tomorrow morning as well as posting our discussion topic / question!

Have a great day, friends!

WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 45

Good Morning Halloween Friends! I looked forward all weekend to posting our "weeks" count, because I realized that before this month is out, we are going to be down in a 30's "weeks" count to October! We started at 52 weeks once we got to October 21', but we didn't realize it at the time because we were having such a good time being in October! That was our first taste of the "bonus time". And it's why December is going by so fast right now! 12 days until Christmas! Where does the time ever go? That's why I'm glad for all of these threads on here because we can always enjoy every minute, as well as have something to return to and re-visit some of those memories over the long "off season".

Now it's time for the Monday question / topic. And I think it is a fun one:

What is your ideal "October weekend" like?

I talk about October weekends on here often. I think they are the best weekends of the year, even better than December weekends. I like checking the TV schedule early each morning to see what channel has the best Halloween movies on. Sometimes there are just "halloween Duds", and I have to watch my own movies. But I like getting all of my chores and errands done first thing in the morning, so that I have the whole afternoon / evening to just relax on the couch and watch scary movies! That's my ideal weekend!

Have a great day, friends!

If I can get an October weekend where the weather cooperates, and it is cloudy and overcast and cool outside, I could spend all day outdoors. I still remember in college I had a "perfect" day like this, and I just walked around campus through the leaves and took in the sights and smells of autumn. It was wonderful, and try as I might I have not been able to recreate the feeling since, although I've come close a few times.

Then, an evening with a picture perfect Bers sunset and Halloween movies or TV specials.

41 weeks until October just doesn't seem possible. And in January we'll be counting down the weeks in the 30's. But October seems so far away.

My ideal October weekend (basically Saturday) would start by sleeping in a little and waking to 30-40F temps and tuning on the gas log in the fireplace. Then later that morning we would head out to a large Fall festival where it would be sunny, a little breezy, and highs in the 50's. Later that evening back at the house we would have a small fire in the back yard while watching college football, eating snacks, and drinking apple cider.

Wow! Now I really miss October.

Yes Indeed! Sounds lovely! And the January counts will indeed be interesting. As you said, we will see both weeks counts hit the 30's in January, as well as the other milestones that we reach that month. There's a plenty!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Edge just had a great post this morning that would have made a great weekly topic / discussion. It was such a good point that I would like to go ahead and elaborate on it today.

When you encounter days that "feel" like Halloween / October, how does it affect you mentally?

We had a day back in early May this year, sadly after "Halfoween" had already passed, that looked and felt, EXACTLY like Halloween. We had been having a pretty warm April up until that point, so when it cooled down big time in the beginning of May, it was an immediate throwback to the "good ole days" of October. There was just a light wind, zero humidity, and even that night, the moon and clouds "played the part". It felt so much like October that my best friend even texted me that night and said "Dude, it feels like Halloween outside". It was a pretty cool experience for me. I came so close to "cheating" and playing my Halloween playlist, or even turning on a Harry Potter movie. I personally love days like that, they are so rare and random, that they really feel like a little "bonus" day, so that we can take in a little bit of "extra feels".

Today is supposed to be much the same. Have a great day, friends!

Morning Halloween Fans! It's feeling good to be in October. Oh wait we aren't? Well it felt like it with the sun out and temps in the 50s on Monday. Same for Tuesday. I'll take it. Have a great day!
The weather we're having right now surely feels like October. I wish we had a one-time reset button that we could push around January 2nd that would send us back to October 1st.

Today is the exact day here that you mention above. No football but i am eating snacks and drinking apple cider.

I think that's what makes wishing for The Bers again in January so special. That's honestly why I think that by the time I get to spring / Halfoween rolls around, I'm sort of "at peace", because I know that with the arrival of Spring, chores and outside work takes the place of missing the holidays so much. And the arrival of Summer is special for me, because as you know, that's when I really begin my own personal "final" countdown, until the Bers. Edge pumps the brakes on Summer, God Bless him. But I am honestly happy when it comes, because from the Summer Solstice, I'm always like "2 1/2" months till the Bers, we've got this!!

I had one last bottle of home-made Cherry Cider, that I finished shortly after Thanksgiving. I have been considering making another to take with me to Christmas dinner, but in the end I decided to leave it alone until January when it is Dark Arts Sunday Time / JOL Day time again. I think it will make it special and more meaningful. I try to be disciplined with the stuff too, I think if I drank it all the time / all throughout the year, it wouldn't be special.

When the pumpkin waffle maker I had been eyeing hit $7.99 after Thanksgiving, I couldn't resist. It arrived yesterday and it is smaller than I expected but I think it will be fun just the same- I just may need to start making them well before serving! LOL!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We find ourselves at Wednesday once again. I've always liked Wednesdays. It's just a calm day of the week, not anxiety inducting like Mondays, but yet not quite as lazy or blissful feeling as Friday. It's just a nice day to kind of enjoy everything. Just like our main countdowns, Wednesday lets you know you're making progress.

Our counts are holding strong still, which might be a good thing, depending on how you look at it. But tomorrow we will flip into new number ranges on the "Days to October" and "Days to Halloween" counts. We won't see any more milestones in this thread this month, but be ready to buckle up when we reach the new year!

Have a great day!

Morning Halloween Fans! Well that feeling of October continues today (maybe more like November though) with temps in the low 50s. The feel of October in December is weird but fun. Have a great day!

No more milestones this month? Ah, that's alright. We're still in the bonus time anyway. When January gets here I'll be back in countdown mode once again, and how exciting it will be! I think I want to start planning even earlier this year, as crazy as that sounds.

You know what? Pumpkin flavored waffles with a pumpkin on one side would taste great.
