It's the FINAL Dark Arts Sunday of 2022, friends. I can't believe I'm even typing that out, but here we are. So fun fact, I don't know if I have ever said this on here before, but I don't like the deathly hallows movies. Don't get me wrong, they are amazing and a proper send off to Harry and folks, but I really don't like how these movies were basically the "end", of the main HP franchise. I will watch them on TV if they are on, but I don't go seeking them out. So I am going to "cheat" just a little bit today and go back to the "Chamber of Secrets", which is my favorite HP movie out of all of them.

We're on the doorstep of The Bers now. They will be here THIS WEEK. In four days, precisely. My wife and I last night felt like not only was it the shortest summer we've ever experienced, but it feels like the whole year has flown by. My hope is that The Bers go slower...

Hello Halloween fans!

It has been a busy week as we went back to school. But the start of school means Fall and Halloween and sooooo close. I believe we are going to put the inside decor up Labor Day weekend (that is NEXT weekend!!)
The local Meijer store has started putting out Fall and Halloween stuff. We picked up a couple of little Fall things. We also picked up some Fall coffees, Oreos, and Monster cereals.

Now if the weather will just cooperate and turn cool. It is going to be close to 90 today. That does not make me happy. But inside, the air is blasting, Fall scented candles are throughout the house, and I will be listening to some Halloween music today.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! At long last we are here. The week that sees us be back in THE BERS. I expect that @The_Escalation will soon be here with his Majora's Mask meme, that shows us with 72 hours remaining. Because that's the way it is, friends. Three days / 72 hours is what stands in the way. We're almost back home. It's been quite a journey.

Dark Arts Sundays, mine at least, wrapped up yesterday. Any Harry Potter marathons that happen from this point forward will be ones that come on TV - SyFy and USA come to mind. And they should be coming pretty soon. I expect to see commercials any time now for advertising "Dark Arts Sunday" on SyFy. And we are now just TWO days away from the very "final" Jack O Lantern Day of 2022. I think tomorrow I will do our August review / recap instead of on the 31st. The 31st should be reserved for its "own" day, and probably nobody will want to be going through a mundane review / recap when we are literally less than 24 hours away from being at The Bers at that point!

My "final" Monday morning topic / discussion today revolves around "Halloween Channels" on Youtube. Does anyone have some that they like watching often?

 I have a few that I go to, that really helps set the mood for my Jack O Lantern Days, and also when I just need the odd "pick me up" here and there in between Halloween stuff. One of my favorites is "Halloween Atmospheres" from Witching Season Films. I think they have four our five installments now:


They have amazing background / ambient sounds, along with beautiful Fall / Halloween visuals. I have often joked that if you could be inside my head, that's what it would look like.

I don't have any specific Halloween YouTube channels that I watch, but I will definitely check out Witching Season Films. I have a channel that I get all of my Charlie Brown soundtracks from, and it's where I've been listening to "It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown" all this month. The channel name is "spetragl."

Good Morning Friends! It's Skinny Count Tuesday! I call it Skinny Count Tuesday because tomorrow, the JOL Day count will be gone. On Thursday, we will be back in the Bers and The Bers count will obviously be gone. That will leave us only with the "Days to October" and "Days to Halloween". It's been quite a journey to get here. You should all be proud of your hard work. Today I'd like to go through the "August Review".

August brought us mentally the end of summer, we entered into "Fall Pre-Season", and the return of NFL Football to our TV screens. It was also the month that saw our stores and grocery stores "finally" put out Halloween candy and fall decorations. We reached the 50 DAYS to October milestone, and raced past it. Heck, in my neck of the woods, we were even able to spot our first group of leaves turning and a few that even decided to fall. I also witnessed overnight low temperatures returning.

Up next? The "final" Jack O Lantern Day of 2022, and the wonderful amazing times also known affectionately as "The Bers"! Have a great day!
 
August has really dragged for me. Once my vacation ended which took me to August 1st, I was just ready for the Bers. I will enjoy my last bit of summer with Labor Day weekend and then on to fall and shortly after spooky season. A little bit of Halloween and fall though before that last push of summer tomorrow and Thursday.
 
Farmers Insurance commercial tonight had a horror film theme. It has begun!

HAPPY JACK O LANTERN DAY #5!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today is the FINAL Jack O Lantern Day in our 2022 season. It still seems so weird writing that out. Folks, I want to take a minute and talk about the graphics I have used to try and convey our "journey" we have been on since January. I pick out these pictures usually in late December. I imagined the pictures portraying an actual journey. In January, our image was one of fall woods, we were entering again on our long walk back "home". And the journey took us into the woods (January), then further on with the moon at our back (March), and then we spotted the cornfield (May), we were greeted by a scarecrow (July), and finally we emerged into the clearing and made it "home", as we can see the "Fall House". I imagine walking up that path, and opening the front door, and going inside and it's The Bers. Today friends, we are standing on that front porch and getting ready to knock at the door. September is going to welcome us in.

I will also do our special "Tree lighting Ceremony" tonight when the sun goes down, and that involves me getting out the "Halloween Tree" and lighting it up to signify that at long last, THE BERS are finally back.
