Good Morning Halloween Friends!
Today is my "farewell" to the afterglow of Halloween season. But wait, doesn't that end the day after Halloween?
Every year I run the battlefield half marathon (13.1 miles). I have only missed two times - once in 2014 because I didn't know about it, and the other time in 2020 when Covid made it get cancelled.
It is always the weekend after Halloween. It is a beautiful course that runs through the countryside here, running by gorgeous farms and scenic vistas. The trees here are peak foliage, and within a week probably all the leaves will be down or close to it. I blast my Halloween playlist one last time for half of the marathon. It's became kind of a tradition on my part. It's almost like my "Bers Tribute video" in real life lol.
When I finish, the first thing I always do at home is hang my finisher's medal on the Christmas Tree. These medals are seriously nice, they are not cheaply made in the least.
Today I will hopefully finish up my outside Christmas decorations and lights. It is time for Halloween to rest in our hearts for a little while now. But don't worry some spooky feels are coming our way soon. I always feel excited the first time each new year that I get the pumpkins back out for that first JOL Day. And I think we get spoiled a bit this year, because we have a Friday the 13th coming up in January. So just about 70 days from now we can have a little taste of spooky feels again! But first lets enjoy these "Bonus Months!"
Have a great day!
