Good Morning Halloween Friends! We have double duty today in celebrating not only 50 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON, but it is also Dark Arts Sunday!

I missed getting online last night to do the August preview due to a power outage yesterday. Lucky for us, the power outage was brief, and our house did not get too hot and our freezer and refrigerator was totally fine as the power was restored here about 2:30 PM.

Thanks to the "new" JOL Day Schedule, I've been able to finish my run of HP films and will today be starting over with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. My favorite HP film out of all of them is Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets, which I will be able to watch next month at the end of "Fall Pre-Season" and on "The Bers Eve"!

So without further ado, here is my August preview:

On Tuesday, we enter into "Fall Pre-Season". It's a day that I have longed for since Spooky Spring. I take the first few weeks of August and gradually get my mindset into Fall & Halloween, and also begin decorating around these parts beginning in the second week of August. As far as milestones go, we will indeed reach the 50 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone, which is just under two weeks from today, and coming our way on August 12th. I also hope to see the heat and humidity gradually decrease in August.

So happy Dark Arts Sunday, and let us know today if you feel like it, how you feel about heading into August and being just a month out from being "home" in The Bers!

Morning all!

Down to the end of July, just one more day after today to go. I am looking forward to August. I am already getting into the Halloween spirit. I keep thinking about listening to Halloween music or watching a scary movie. But I am trying to hold off just a few more days.

I will certainly intermix Halloween music here in a couple of days. We are also about to watch Twin Peaks the Return, which certainly has a scary/thriller vibe to it.

My wife also just, as I was writing this, surprised me with a really cool Addams Family shirt. It has a picture of the old show on it. I love the old show.

I should also mention, speaking of the Addams Family, that we made a really awesome purchase last weekend.
We went to a local ComicCon and came across the guy who does all of the official SpongeBob books. Aside from that he also does portraits of famous characters. Those portraits he puts in books as a collection. But at Cons he often sells the original drawings. So, we were flipping through the originals and came across 4 Addams Family portaits: Gomez, Morticia, Lurch, and Fester. While expensive, we just had to have them. So we bought them. We currently have them at a framers and should get them back this week sometime.

When we bought them, it really made his day. He was actually thinking about leaving the Con early because he had been on the phone with his wife and their dog was at the vet and it was becoming clear that their dog was not going to make it. The poor thing was only 3 years old. He was upset and had clearly been crying when we came around and bought the portraits. Our purchase helped to brighten his day a bit.

So cool on so many levels!

Happy JOL Day #6! And to think, the next time we do JOL Day after today, we will be on the day before The Bers arrive and we come back home. It's just magical.

JOL Day #6.jpg

Yesterday really felt like a late summer, early Fall day. It was mild and only got to 83 degrees. The humidity was very low, and several times when the breeze rolled in, I could just imagine that we were in the early part of The Bers. It just felt amazing.

And we have great weather all this week too, upper 70's and a few mid 80's. But no more 90's. I even went to the long range forecast and checked the first two weeks of August, no more 90's. And that humidity is sliding down as well. Some nights start popping up in August where the overnight low gets into the 50's! That's Fall weather, IMO. It is 67 degrees outside right now and cool and beautiful. An amazing drive into work with this cool weather and the Halloween playlist going!

I think a trip to Haddonfield is in order tonight. I hadn't planned on returning back to any of the "Halloween" movies for JOL Day before August was here, but I am just feeling too many "feels" right now to ignore. I figure I'm a day early to Fall Pre-Season. So be it! Have a great day, friends!

Happy Jack-O-Lantern Day!!!

Morning Halloween Fans and Happy JOL Day!

Not quite as hot today, only in the low 80s.

Tomorrow begins August and I am so happy about that. I am really hoping stores start putting out the Halloween and Fall stuff quickly. I am ready for pumpkin spice everything.

Happy JOL Day! The awful heat and humidity have dropped and I am enjoying the extra Halloween feels!

However, my pumpkins are not looking too great, the high winds knocked off most of the blossoms and I think the wood fence and concrete combined with the wind has caused the leaves to get roughed up and die too. I still enjoy sitting out with them and watering them, but I think the Great Pumpkin may be passing me by.

How are everyone else's pumpkins coming along?

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Tuesday! And welcome to August and Fall Pre-Season! It's 60 degrees outside. It's a beautiful morning. Today is a day I have waited and dreamed about for a long time. And now it is finally here.

Just 31 days until we are back home in The Bers. I just can't believe it. And tomorrow we will hit just 90 days until Halloween. THAT is precisely why I decorate the house here as early as I do for the Holidays. I want to enjoy the ambience but I never want it to feel forced, and I think I over the years have formulated a pretty good balance.

We will also break into a 50's count on THURSDAY on our way to October. Wow! My next immediate goal, now that Fall Pre-Season is here, is to make a trip to Bath & Body works and see if the Halloween shop is open. It should be. And I have coupons so that's fantastic. I'm down to just about a dozen little bottle of wall-flowers, so if I get a few for Halloween Season, my next big stock up will need to be when they release Winter / Christmas scents here in about two months. I think the fall and winter scents smell the best over everything else!

Have a great day, friends. Enjoy this wonderful day.
