Halloween 2023 Countdown!

Ugh, yes! Though we seem to be getting a break now. Back to high 60s/low 70s. It was so hot and humid the mosquitoes have been swarming. However, that brought out some heavy bat activity so I'll count that ambiance as a Halloween win.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Thursday to you! The "mini heatwave" here is over now. It's a cool 72 degrees outside. We have a good chance of rain just about every day for the next 10 days. The rainy days, if we get them, and the cooler weather are just one of the reasons why I like Fall so much.
One of the things I enjoyed last week was counting down, literally, the hours until we reached Friday morning and The Bers came home. I think it was fun, and it is something I might do from time to time, for an upcoming Holiday or other special time / day. As of right now, it's 17 hours and 23 minutes until Friday!
We are well under two weeks now to the "official" beginning of Spooky Season, and Monday we will start our "final countdown" until Spooky Season is back, "officially"!
I've been enjoying all the scary movies dropped on Peacock, and SyFy has had bangers almost every single night. I'm so happy to be back this close to "official" Spooky Season, that I'd even settle for a "Halloween Dud" like Jurassic Park or Spider man, lol.

Evening Halloween Fans! It was yet another hot one here. 90+ again but this should be the last one...dare I say until next spring/summer season? I dare. I hope at least. We didn't have a ton of it this summer till this week really (more humidity than heat). Happy Halloween!

I wish I could say the heatwave is over here, but nope... It'll be a high of 102 today. Thankfully, it looks like we're poised to get our first "cool front" next week. We'll drop from high 90s to low 90s on Thursday. Realistically, relief won't get here until October, just in time for Halloween.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Saturday! It's only 66 degrees outside. This weekend is going to be cool and rainy off and on. We really need it. All of the yards here were tan like a desert. It's rained almost an inch though since Thursday, and we are supposed to get another few inches throughout this week, maybe even more if Hurricane Lee hits land. We've rained just shy of 18 inches for the year. The worst year that Virginia ever had was around 18 inches total and that was somewhere around 1930 to 1932. I personally believe we will finish around 30 inches for the year, our Falls here are always rainy.
On the Halloween front, you can see we have broken into single digits at last on the way to Halloween Season, we're three weeks away from the FINAL Jack O Lantern Day of 2023, and obviously the last major milestone will be on Monday when we begin the "Final Fifty" countdown to Halloween!

Today is going to be another cool one, only getting to 80 degrees. It rained again last night and I can already see the yards turning green again. We will have to mow next weekend, I'm sure. I really thought we were done for the year.
I planted pumpkins earlier in the year, but due the drought, I only ended up getting one usable one. It's sort of medium in sized, but it's got a healthy orange color. I think it's time to pick it soon.
My fall activity for today, is hauling more wood pellets! I'm roughly 50 bags away from having enough supply to make it through most of the cold months. Have a great day!

You know it is Fall when the NFL season truly begins. Week 1 today!
The weather is nice and Fall like as well. It is in the 70s today and looks like it will stay there. Even upper 60s a couple of days this week.
My wife is making some zucchini bread today; I am planning on making some pumpkin bread next week.
