So many houses are decorated for Halloween now. I told Michelle we’re going riding around some night very soon.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 25

TGIF, Halloween Friends! At long last it's Friday. We have arrived on the doorstep of the first full October weekend. And for many of us, a three day weekend.

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines is out now and I have avoided spoilers so far, and I will do so today, even though I basically know the "jist" of the story that they are telling. I can't wait to come home after work and watch it. I honestly had thoughts of watching it this morning at 2 AM when it released, but I felt like I would be too tired the rest of the day.

October temps are rolling in now, and by this evening and over the weekend it will really feel like true "October Weather".

Have a great day, friends!

I'm loving Spooky Season so far.

I asked the Bing image generator to create just "Silent Hill," and this was one of the results it produced. Not bad! Still probably a little too bright compared to the original setting in the games/movie, but it captured the overall creepiness pretty well. Still not a place I'd be willing to explore by myself.

Tonight my daughter and I are are going out to dinner and to Boo Lights at the zoo. It will be a little chilly, but it will be so much fun. Tomorrow night I am going out to dinner and to a Halloween-themed melodrama. I love October.

It is chilly here too! I love it!

That looks like an image from when the town is "normal". You know, just the snow / fog, etc.... Nice work, friend!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 24

Good Morning, Halloween Friends!

The first full weekend of October is here! It's a long weekend for me. Three day weekend with us being off on Monday for Columbus day. I've never had that day off before.

I think the heat is "over". Today only gets to 64, tomorrow is just in the 50's, and nothing gets higher than low 60's for the next 10 days. True autumn weather, IMO.

I'm waiting now for a good weekend to seal my driveway again. I have all of the supplies, just need a good dry 24 hour period where it gets over 55 degrees. I'm hoping right now that's October 21st. I sealed the driveway the first time in 2020, when it was two years old, this next time I'm hoping I can go at least five years. My dad's neighbor does his religiously every two years. I think that's too much.

I'm just going to enjoy a nice cool day relaxing here, and doing some light outside chores. It might be too wet to mow unless I wait for later today.

Have a great day, friends!

Hello Halloween Fans!

Sorry for my absence, this time of year is just crazy busy.

A cold front moved through and has really brought Fall with it. Today the high is below 60! The weather is just amazing today. Light breeze, sunny, and cool. Looks like it will be staying in the 60s for at least the next week. We will likely have some days in the low 70s in October, but I think the really warm stuff is over.

We are planning on going to Spirit Halloween store this evening. We have not had time to get there before now, so today is the day!

Behold my 2023 Pumpkin crop, look carefully, there are only 2 and they are easy to miss...

There is always next year.

We just got home from our trip to Spirit Halloween. We also went to Hobby Lobby. But we decided to go to a nearby haunted cave. It was a lot of fun. They did a great job making the cave into several different areas and plenty of animatronics and people and everything. It was a lot of fun. It took almost an hour to get through too, so it was worth the money.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 23

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Day #2 of the long weekend!

I think today is going to be reserved for getting ready for winter here. The AC needs to come out of the window and go into the shed, and I might unhook the hoses outside from the faucets. I already cleaned off the back porch yesterday. It's not going to be long now. I think maybe two more weeks, maybe three tops, before we will need some sort of heat at night. We are already a few days past last year when I burned the pellet stove for the first time.

We will certainly be running heat by the time we flip the calendar to November!

Tonight I want to watch some Harry Potter and some football. A typical October Sunday! Have a great day!

I have a few things I want to do to prep for winter too. I had hoped to do some caulking and spray foam but I am not sure I want to do it with such cool temps. However, I do need to go around and check my traps and bait stations and freshen my peppermint essential oil, which is supposed to deter mice, but I am not sure that is really does; one year I found some of the cotton balls I used to place the oil on to be moved and maybe even chewed!!! I bought 2 more 20 quart Sterilite tubs for the pantry so I will be doing some reorganizing in there today while I do some meal prep.

Sometime interesting has happened this year. After years and years of not liking candy corn, I catch myself thieving 3-4 pieces at a time from my daughters' stash. I can scarcely believe it. Maybe it's just for lack of any other Halloween candy in the house right now, but when did I actually start to enjoy candy corn???

I love it. Always have. Welcome to the club! ;)
