Good Morning Halloween Friends! TGIF! The 3 day weekend is here at last! Weekends are truly like mini holidays, thanks to our friend @Edge612 coining them that way several weeks ago. I can't un think it now. And a 3 day weekend? Well that definitely feels like a holiday.

We will hit 200 DAYS TO FALL PRESEASON on Sunday, and then begin the new week with that count down in the 100's. Wow. And we are just about two weeks out from the first Dark Arts Sunday of the 2024 countdown season. Exciting to see things slowly ramp up here in January as we crawl through winter.

Have a great day, friends! It might be almost safe to start thinking some Halloween thoughts with JOL Day staring to peek over the horizon at long last!
 
Too late. I’ve been thinking Halloween thoughts since Christmas ended. It’s only right to do so. Halloween is the first holiday to begin the Christmas Triumvirate, after all. I still have to plan what I’m going to do for my JOL Days this year. It’s gotta be something good.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Saturday! 1st day of my long 3 day weekend!

Today we are on the doorstep of two very important things! Tomorrow we will celebrate 200 DAYS TO FALL PRESEASON, and also the beginning of the ONE WEEK WINDOW to 100 DAYS TO HALFOWEEN. 100 Days, that's just a hair over three months. Will we really be able to say next weekend that we are only THREE MONTHS, from being halfway back to Halloween? Well indeed we can.

We are taking it slow and steady through this January, it's a long month but we are doing good. We have milestone days sprinkled throughout the month as small rewards on our long journey.

Happy Milestone Day, Halloween Friends! As you can see from our wonderful billboard above, Fall Pre-Season begins in just 200 days! I say "just" because even though 200 seems like a chunk, it's going to instantly feel different tomorrow when we see that count break into the 100's.

It is an exciting time. We are also now just one week from hitting the 100 DAYS TO HALFOWEEN mile marker. And two weeks from today will be my first Dark Arts Sunday of 2024. We are almost at the mid point of January now. Time may feel like it is starting to slow down. Edge mentioned that January was feeling a little long. I think it has been fair so far, but the thing about January, is that it can change at a minute's notice.

I truly enter the dark part of January now, with the lights gone outside and the big tree down now. This is where I can find out if I truly have enough planned to stave of PCB's / PFHB's, or may I feel some moments of despair. I know that when they come, they won't be for long.

Happy Milestone Day!

When you think about all of the milestones to Halloween and Christmas, it really helps make the year cruise along without wanting it to speed by. Each milestone is a day to enjoy and think about the season/holiday. Add in JOL Days and Rudolph Days and it provides lots of fun throughout the year. I have never been good at actually celebrating the JOL and Rudolph Days consistently; but this year that is my goal. I really want to make the most of each one of those days. Now, I realize I will be doing so largely by myself here at home. Not really my wife's thing to keep these holidays alive through the year. But I am going to enjoy them!
 
With the weather we’ve been having I am missing the Fall season! It truly is my favorite time of the year! I miss seeing the colors of the leaves change, leaves falling, crisp mornings and Halloween decorations! My 2nd favorite Holiday!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Martin Luther King Day! My first time having this holiday off ever in my working career! It's snowing outside right now and we have about 1/8 of an inch. We might get as much as 3 inches today / tonight. Definitely one of the more busy starts to winter as far as snow, that I can remember.

You can see from the counts above that we are now down in the 100's on the Fall Preseason count. We will see two more counts hit 200 Day milestones before February is over with.

We approach the mid-month point of January now. The weather makes me think of the old Christmas Carol "In the bleak mid-winter". That's where we nearly are right now.

My next grocery run I'm going to take a peek at the candy selection. If Easter candy is out in full force, then that means our candy season is UP NEXT, even though UP NEXT translates in this sense to about 6 - 7 months. Have a great day!
 
Good morning Halloween Fans!

Another very cold morning here in Ohio. Hoping for another dusting of snow tonight, but we will see.

In terms of candy it is the Valentine candy I am seeing everywhere. So far I have not really seen any Easter candy yet. Though I am sure it will trickle in pretty soon.

I am LOVING this billboard. That’s some fantastic use of the Bing Image Generator there, buddy. Seems like the AI is getting much better — it can even spell words correctly now! I’ve got to play with it some more and see if I can crank out some really good JOL Day images.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Tuesday! It snowed all night long and we probably have 4 inches of snow outside. My work is on a 2 hour delay for right now, but there is a chance that they could close the city offices when they re-evaluate at 7:00 am.

It was great having a three day weekend. My next one is in February for President's Day, about a month from now. We come back today after the three day weekend and take a look at our counts. Just about two weeks out from the first Jack O Lantern Day, and now approaching the 100 DAY WINDOW to Halfoween, which will be here on Sunday. The surprising count this morning is that our "Days to October" has now broken into the 250's and we will have a milestone there in just nine days.

It's been a busy start to winter here in my opinion, we've already had two measurable snows, and now some brutal cold nights will be here for the next six days, but then we warm up big time beginning on Sunday and many days going forward will be in the 50's as we approach groundhog day.
