My Halloween thought for today is if I should make milk jug Ghosts or milk jug Jack o'Lanterns with glow sticks. Righ now I have 2 clear milk jugs and one white, I need to pick up a glow stick to see if the white ones will allow any light/glow to come through, maybe that will help me make a decision. I am hoping to make a couple each month on Dark Arts Sunday or Jack o' Lantern Days.

I have a friend who does milk jug lights along her walk for Christmas. She used electric lights in hers, the kind that don't get hot. I have never seen the ones for Halloween before. Looking at them, I bet you could use either vinyl or permanent marker for the faces. Sometimes twinkle lights with timers for the batteries go on sale. I am going to steal this idea but use the twinkle lights. Can't weight to hear which ones you decide to use.

I made some for Christmas one year but when they froze they became deformed! That might work for the ghosts, at least! LOL!

Evening Halloween Fans! What a day. I went to work but I probably should have WFH. But I really don't like WFH. Roads were ok this morning but got icy this afternoon. Snow, ice, cold, wind, heavy rain. What a winter so far! Happy Halloween!

Happy Wednesday, Halloween Friends! Folks, it is COLD outside. It's 9 degrees right now. We do get above freezing today fortunately, but these nights are brutal. These are some of the coldest temperatures that we have had in many years here.

We are now exactly two weeks from the first JOL Day of 2024. That's been our shining beacon since we started the new year. That little slice of Halloween and October feels that keep us motivated through our long journey back. We've been on the road back to Fall and October ever since last Halloween ended, but I think that first JOL Day in January really serves as a reminder that we are really on the way. Across these threads in MMC, we love numbers. It's always a numbers game with us. JOL Day is in two weeks. Spooky Spring kickoff weekend is in 2 1/2 months. Halfway to Halloween is about 3 1/2 months from now. When you look at numbers like we do, somehow things don't "look" that far away on paper even though we have a while to go for those things.

The best we can do in January, like Edge always says, is to just try and "enjoy" it as much as we can each day and find the happiness in little things. Have a great Wednesday, Halloween Friends!

Well for Picture Day in the Thanksgiving thread today, I did Thanksgiving in January, so why not Halloween in January?

Every time someone says "Halloween in January", I always think back to the episode of BoJack Horseman where they have that store called "Halloween in January"

Even though in the context of the show, the store is a joke, pictures like this kind of sum up what we are all about here in winter time trying to find ways to tap into some of those October feels....

This doesn't really have anything to do with Halloween, but it does tap into our Dark Arts Sundays so I thought I'd bring it up:

Last night I was beginning to plan for our family Christmas trip to Disney and was just looking up stuff and different things they had going on in December. I also looked up Universal Studios because we have an extra day where we might go there also. I started looking at their Wizarding World attractions that they have in the parks, and holy snitch... Now I am REALLY hyped to go. Just looking at the rides and the Hogwarts Express and thinking of getting a butterbeer... I can't buy my ticket fast enough!

My kids were totally wild over the Wizarding World. The Gringotts bank where the dragons on the roof breath fire are not to be missed. We have a store here when you can buy cans of butterbeer. We sometimes make slushies in the summer using that as the base.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Here we are at Thursday, aka "Mini Friday". It's always a great day of the week. Thursday afternoons / evenings when you start thinking "Tomorrow is Friday", it makes me happy when we start seeing the weekend in view again. Our own little mini holiday.

Our next milestone is on Monday when we will reach the 100 day window to Halfoween, and we are now exactly one week from the 250 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone. Time marches on.

The subject of time is my Thursday Halloween thought for today. We all deal with time in different ways. For some of us, time goes fast. It feels like Fall and Halloween Season go by really fast. I have a "plan" this coming season to try and make the Fall slow down. Right now, if it were Fall, I'd be over joyed because of how "slow" January is going by now. I don't know if my plan will work, but what about you? Do you want to make Fall and Halloween feel "slower"? Or are you content with the way it currently passes for you?

Have a great day!

Yes, I want to make Fall and Halloween and all of the Bers, for that matter, feel slower this year. Last year they zoomed by way too fast. You will have to share your plan with me when we get closer to Fall Preseason.

My Thursday Halloween thought for today is just about the Fall Festival we went to last year and how much fun that was. I can't wait to go again this year.

Gringotts is in the Diagon Alley portion of the park, correct? I really dislike how they split it between the two parks and make you buy separate tickets to experience the whole thing, but I have to admit it's a genius money-making move, as I'm ponying up for two tickets. So I guess it worked on me.

Right now my day-to-day expectations are very low and time passes slowly. But when we start seeing fall decorations hit the store shelves, those expectations change and time starts speeding up. Not sure how to stop it, but I'm willing to give anything a try. I look forward to your suggestions.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The city closed the offices yesterday afternoon at about 4:30, so I am off today. Another wonderful three day weekend. It's snowing outside right now, and we are supposed to get between 3 to 6 inches today, about like the last snow storm.

We're closing in now on 100 DAYS TO HALFOWEEN. That, and the spooky spring count have been the ones I've been focusing on ever since we started the new year. Our only count that really looks super large still is the "Days to Halloween", and I think everyone wants that one to take its time.

Whatever your thoughts are on this Friday, I hope you have a mixture of maybe some Halloween thoughts, and some TGIF thoughts. Thanks for being here with me every day during this long journey back to everything we love. Have a great day!

Somehow we snuck under two weeks until JOL Day, and I completely missed it. I have decided that for this first JOL Day, I am going to read Bram Stoker's Dracula. I've never read it before, so it's been way past due for me to give it a shot.
I hope you enjoy reading Dracula. It has been a few years since I have read it, but I have read it many times. It is a great book, but you will certainly notice some differences from the various movie versions.
