Good Morning Halloween Friends! Mini Friday is here and now we can start thinking about the weekend! Folks, it's the weekend BEFORE Memorial Day weekend. I feel a lot of similarities between that and the week before Thanksgiving, or perhaps even the week before Christmas!
We're just a hair over TWO WEEKS to go until our next JOL Day, and tomorrow we will be only one week out from the famous 100 DAYS TO THE BERS milestone. There's going to be some feels. I want to keep those October / Halloween counts in front of us for as long as possible though, because nobody wants to wish The Bers or October away!

I have several projects I am trying to get done in the house before the bers.. painting, replacing curtain roads and some curtains, replacing and rearranging some pieces of furniture, purging, etc. With all that chaos I would be afraid it would get broken so it will stay nice safe in its box and tucked away until the madness is over LOL

Does anyone else know what that means? It means that in just 50 DAYS, the 50 DAY PREVIEW OF THE BERS will be here! A real countdown to the countdown! I personally think that outside of the main Christmas countdown thread, the 50 Day Preview of The Bers is the other biggest thing on this site. And it's something you don't want to miss.

CODE ORANGE!
While I was on vacation this week, my wife stopped in to JoAnn’s, and imagine our surprise when we saw honest to goodness Halloween items ALREADY being put on display:
This is not a drill. Those are cauldrons, skeletons, pumpkins, and all other manner of HALLOWEEN items on display at JoAnn’s. In mid-May.
I’m still quite flabbergasted. This might be the earliest Code Orange that I’ve ever seen in my life.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's a rainy morning this morning, only 57 degrees out there right now. The feel of the air and the "rain smell" makes me think of a beloved Fall morning.
We're under two weeks to go now until JOL Day, and headed towards our 100 DAYS TO THE BERS milestone! I have been thinking about what I might do here "extra" to celebrate that milestone, and I think that I will clean my pellet stove and prepare it for the long summer slumber. It will be warm weather, so I can take the chimney pipe apart, and clean it real good. I always then clean the stove very thoroughly inside and outside, spray a coat of WD-40 on all the metal inside, and then put a box of rice in there to help with moisture control. I can't think of anything more "Bers-ey" than getting the stove ready!
We continue to march towards "The Road", which is coming our way now in just about a WEEK. Let that sink in, folks. I'm headed out to Jo Ann later today to see if I can find my own CODE ORANGE sightings!

Not me either. Precisely why I am so excited for this next Dark Arts Sunday and JOL Day #4! I have really missed Spooky Spring, and I know I will be missing it a lot more once the true dog days of Summer and the Summer Sweatfest arrive!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Sunday to all! We are now standing on the doorstep to the week of Memorial Day weekend. Nobody needs an explanation on how much things will change mentally once we break that 100 day seal to The Bers, and head down "The Road" on our way back to Fall.
I know we're supposed to take it slow every day, but I don't like feeling like I'm in "limbo" this week. So I'm going to step on my own personal gas pedal. I'm not supposed to wish my life away, but I'm going to cheat a little bit this week and hope that I can fast-forward through this last stress free week and come out standing on the entrance to "The Road". It's time, and I feel like it's been forever since we did this.
100 Days to The Bers, Dark Arts Sunday, and opening "The Road" is what we have to look forward to over the course of the next 7 days. Folks, I think this is going to be one of the all time great weeks / times that we talk about over the course of the year. Let's make it a good one.
