Good morning Halloween Fans!

Back from a short vacation over the weekend.

As we head into the last few days of July, I am having a hard time not pushing full speed ahead into the Halloween mindset. I was going through my Halloween music playlist, just to look at the songs. I will try to add some more over the next few days. I might also make some more specific Halloween playlists instead of everything all in one.

For Dark Arts Sunday yesterday, I watched Goblet of Fire. That entire last sequence with Voldemort stands out for being very Halloween-ish, taking place in a graveyard and all, but it's also much darker than the first three films. There's a distinct shift from lighthearted and whimsical to a much darker tone for the next four films. I like all of the movies, but the first three definitely give me the most "feels" when it comes to the Bers and the holidays.

Also, FALL PRESEASON AND FOOTBALL returning this week! I could not be more thrilled!

I ordered a vampire nutcracker. It came, it is darling and I am leaving it on my chest of drawers until I can put out Halloween things. Pretty much I am the only one who goes in my bedroom and any one else who does can just not judge.

I agree, I think the first couple of movies depict the actual holidays during the events of the film, and with the first few being more lighthearted, feels closer to "holiday movies" than the last couple. I could be wrong, but I don't think any holiday is displayed there on screen after The Half Blood Prince...

DAYS TO JOL DAY #6: 1
DAYS TO FALL PRESEASON: 2
DAYS TO THE BERS: 33
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON: 48
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 63
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 93

Happy Tuesday, Friends! We're standing on the doorstep now to JOL Day! And our old friend FALL PRESEASON will be showing up to knock on the door tomorrow! I remember back several years ago when Jack O Lantern Day was first "created" - and how special July's felt. Because once upon a time it was the "final" JOL Day of the Year/Season, but also when JOL Day ended, Fall Pre-Season was here.

So lots of Feels today. It's going to be hot out still, and the rest of the summer might have some more mini heatwaves pop up, but after tomorrow, mentally, everything feels different. The August Preview is here today, and honestly I could totally just sum up August by saying "Fall Pre-Season" and everybody would probably be satisfied. But let's unpack the month some. Here are our "moments" that we will be looking for next month:

Aug 1 - Fall Preseason Begins
Aug 5 - 100 Days to Christmas Season
Aug 12 - 50 Days until October
Aug 13 - 3/4 of the way to Christmas Season
Aug 20 - 100 Days until Thanksgiving
Aug 22 - Tom Turkey Day #9
Aug 24 - 2/3 to Christmas Day!
Aug 25 - Rudolph Day #8
Aug 27 - 3/4 to Thanksgiving Day
Aug 31 - Jack O Lantern Day #7

You'll notice I put some milestones in here that pertain to other holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I think it's important that Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas get represented like the ultimate trio that they are! One would feel different without the others. And I think the last 4 months of the year would be distinctly different if we didn't have the order of things that we have. That's my two cents.

Have a great next to last day of July!

Very fun to keep the nutcracker out to enjoy!

JOL Day #7.jpg

Happy Last day of the month, Halloween wanderers! Today is Jack O Lantern Day, and it might be one of the most special JOL Days of the entire year. When the sun sets tonight, we know that FALL PRESEASON awaits us. And looking at the counts this morning, there's just 8 weeks left until we are back in October. Today is also the last day we will have our "Fall Preseason" count up top. We're going to lose a few more here over the next couple of weeks!

Our next milestone will be on Friday when we begin the "Final 30" on our way back to The Bers!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Jack-O-Lantern Day!!!!
