Halloween 2024 Countdown!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Saturday! Here in about 30 minutes, I'm headed up to the DMV to renew my license and get my "Real ID" credential in case I ever have to fly.
Today is going to be a warm one, and the next 10 days look like we get back into the 70's, and a few days even break 80 again. That's incredible for being late October. I have had to use the pellet stove for the past three nights as it has gotten to near freezing. I have a whole ton of wood pellets on the ground and beginning to gather a second ton, starting this weekend. Two tons is what I used last year with pellets to spare.
I might mow the grass today for one of the last times! We will have to see. And then tomorrow I'm going to Skyline Drive since the valley is now in peak foliage season.

Hard to believe Halloween is so close. The weather has been great for the mood recently.
We have our Halloween party next Saturday, so we have some serious cleaning and extra decorating to do this week.
I have a bunch of movies I need to get in before the big day. I have been trying to get a lot of them in when I can but I certainly have more I have to watch!

Evening Halloween Fans! Although October always seems to go a little too fast it also has felt long to me which is weird. I mean we still have another dozen days of it. And I feel like I've gotten a lot out of it so far with a lot more to go. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! I had a great full October Saturday yesterday. I was able to get my new license / REAL ID, and then we came home and I went to Hill High Farm and Abigale had a great time petting all the animals and then we went on a hay ride. We all got to pick out a pumpkin when the wagon let us out at the pumpkin patch. It was pretty fun. I believe it was the first "full family" Fall activity that we have done since Abigale has been born!

Evening Halloween Fans! Going to a short indoor Halloween Trail this evening (but a spooky one). Been to it a couple of years ago. Pretty fun/scary a good mixture. And it's only about 20 minutes so they don't overdo it although I love the long ones I go to. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! 10 Big days are all that separates us from the big day of Halloween. Just about a week and a half.
I'm off work today as I have a dentist appointment. When I come home, I'm going to take the trash to the dump and finish changing the oil on my truck, since it got dark on me yesterday.

Alright, I took a little detour away from Spooky Season this month, but now I’m back and ready to fully immerse myself in all things Halloween.
This is a week for Halloween shows. Garfield’s Halloween, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Toy Story of Terror are all on deck.
I just wish we had more time. 10 days is not a lot.

Evening Halloween Fans! Hope you had a good Monday. Got close to 80 degrees here. Had the day off. Talk about great timing. Went to the mall for lunch, bought a book, trip to the park with Damian (which is normal) and an errand or two. Relaxing all evening. Happy Halloween!

Happy Tuesday, Friends! We're in single digits now on the "Days to Halloween" count. Say it isn't so!
Our very unseasonable warm weather continues - We have 70's every day into November now. My "goal posts" keep moving for when we need to turn on the daily heat. I used to think that I would have to start using the pellet stove by November 1st. Now, that looks easily like it could be December 1st, probably by the middle of next month we may only need it at night. I'm not crazy enough to think that maybe we go all the way through December without needing daily heat, but you never know.

Time is definitely flying by way faster than we like!
FIL gave us a bunch if his Halloween decorations since he doesnt decorate any more any is planning on moving into an apartment soon. He, DH and the kids had fun adding the decorations to our front yard yesterday. Got a couple new decorations on order too, hopefully they will be in before Halloween.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Just 8 big days away from Halloween now. Tomorrow we will be exactly ONE week away from Halloween and we will also be approaching Halloween weekend which is extra special.
Folks, I saw it mentioned on another Facebook post that Halloween season was "fading". I can't deny that I have had those kind of thoughts the past couple of days, especially last night as I went into Home Depot and all of the Halloween stuff is being "consolidated", and everything is 50 - 60% off! Sort of was a gut punch. But farther down the way, Christmas stuff was everywhere and seeing those lights and trees brought me back to a happy place mentally. Regardless of Halloween "ending" next week, we still are in the best 3 months of the year and there are lots of things to look forward to each coming day and week! And we will get through it here together, and we will start a new countdown in 8 days just like always. I'm also working on a special project that I hope to debut towards the end of the year.

But if you think about it, all the stuff they used to have in the stores is in someone's house and front yard right now. So Halloween has been continuously inflating and will continue to do so until the 31st. Just the retail side is fading away into the background while the main event rising up.
There’s still 8 days left of spooky fun to be had! That’s not a problem — it’s a blessing!
