Evening Halloween Fans! I'm not going to lie. I'm really going to miss October when it's over. This has been like the best one yet. I think part of it is I started my October by the 2nd half of September which I got more out of it that way. Happy Halloween!

October always has my heart for the WHOLE month and I do miss it when its gone.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 1

Good Morning Halloween Friends! And then there was ONE! ONE day is all that separates us from Halloween.

I have to finish up the "new" thread tonight so that it is ready to go for tomorrow night. I echo Edge's sentiments and I'm very very sad to see October go. I too started Spooky Season in September, which for me made it feel like it lasted longer. Lots of activities thrown in there helped too.

Tomorrow, we are having a potluck luncheon at my work. I haven't been part of one of those for two years since I left my last job. It will hit me right in the "feels", especially as tomorrow winds down and you can see November 1st standing in the doorway.

Have a great Wednesday, friends!

Happy Halloween Eve!

Only 1 day away!

The last couple of days I have watched some older movies; The Mash of the Red Death, with Vincent Price and last night I watched Countess Dracula with Ingrid Pitt. Nigel Green was in both movies.
I forgot how good those movies were. It had been years since I watched either of those movies.

Not sure what movie(s) I will watch tonight. I know on Halloween I will be watching Charlie Brown!

Here we are, one day out, and as usual I feel the old bittersweet feelings. I am thrilled that Halloween is upon us, and tomorrow is going to be a blast. However, I will miss it once it’s over. I remember the long plow from New Year’s Day to Spooky Spring and then from Spooky Spring to now, and I wish that Halloween were like once a quarter. But then it wouldn’t be special.

The bright side: Jack o’ Lantern Days do help take some of the edge off, and I’ll be knee-deep in the Christmas season beginning on Friday.

Wow. One day to go and that is it for Spooky Season. It has been a fun ride. I must admit though my inner spirit is already starting that transition to pre/early Christmas season.

But I am ready to enjoy the last two days, and we will be carving pumpkins tonight. I can't wait for my milky way bar and some pizza tomorrow..........also the rain has moved out until late tomorrow evening! Yeah.....a Great Pumpkin miracle!

Evening Halloween Fans! For those of you with any sadness just think of this. The wait for Halloween isn't as long as Christmas. We get 2 months free when Halloween ends (where we are fully in the holiday season). And then Spooky Spring is a true thing so we have 3 months to wait for it. And then in the summer you see Halloween stuff coming out, Halloween events are announced etc. Just another reason I love summer. So in some way Halloween is around more than we think during the year. Happy Halloween!

I am going to light my Great Pumpkin Metal Jack o’ Lantern and enjoy the evening, especially the decorations!

Enjoy the night, my friends!

I feel you brother. I am working on the "new" 2025 Halloween Thread that I plan on launching tomorrow night around 8:30 or so, as I feel that Halloween is essentially "over" for the most part for most folks, trick or treaters are usually done by then and we are all winding down.

I will be honest on here with my MMC brothers and sisters, that there is always a sort of "sadness" that hits in usually around the time I launch the new thread. I'm excited to be counting down to another year, but I am always sad when October ends. October has been the main stage for so many of the best moments of my life. I met my wife in October of 2006 on Halloween night. We met that night on a "one off" of sort but I never forgot her. We started talking again in the Spring of 2007 and began dating. In October of 2008 I proposed to her. In October of 2022 my daughter was born. Halloween tomorrow will be the 17th year that we have been together!

So I'm putting some last minute touches on the thread but just know that I totally know how you feel! I am grateful for all of the MMC Special Days, because of them no holiday ever "ends", we have little fragments of it that keep us going on carry us on through the new year. I will touch on that more tomorrow when we launch the new thread. Let's all have a great Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO EVERYONE!

It's Thursday and we are having an office potluck - I haven't had one for two years since leaving my longtime job. And there will be lots of "feels" especially later as we settle into Halloween night and it dawns on us just what tomorrow brings.

I will be back later tonight to post my "final" thoughts on the Halloween countdown / 2024 "season", and then also put the link on here for the NEW 2025 Countdown Thread!

This thread will go inactive once the NEW thread goes up.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
