DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 10

Good Morning Pumpkin People! Today is the final day in this 2025 Thread that we have double digits to Halloween. Tomorrow we enter single digits on our final approach to Halloween.

The leaves here are finally turning and even though we had a terrible wind storm on Sunday, we are starting to get good colors here and I think we are about a week or so away from having "peak" foliage here. We might take the kids to the pumpkin patch this weekend if it is nice / fair weather.

Have a great day, friends!

Just wanted to quickly post about my experience at Disney's "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" this past week. It was an absolute blast. You wouldn't think that Magic Kingdom, of all places, would have a decent Halloween vibe, but they totally nailed the light-hearted, fun side of Halloween without getting into anything too creepy. After all, there are tons of young children present. I suspect that Halloween Horror Nights at Universal have a totally different vibe...which is why that event is age-restricted.

Anyway... The point is that I'd highly recommend the party. I might have even enjoyed it more than the Christmas party last year. Just maybe.

These guys (the "Cadaver Dans") were singing a mix of Disney and Halloween songs for most of the night, a la a barbershop quartet. Not sure where the fourth ghost ran off to during this part, but he was there earlier.

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday. It's 62 degrees and sunny. Perfect October weather today. Nice to take an afternoon walk here. I'm about to eat lunch first though. Lunch is important time of day. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Pumpkin People! Single digits to Halloween are now here. I can't believe I'm writing that.

Somewhere, like it does every year, October moved into warp speed!

Today is going to be chilly, with the high reaching only 58 degrees.

I hope everyone has a great day!

My best friend's niece is supervisor of paramedics at Universal. People have had heart attacks during their horror nights! She said it is a very busy time for the medics there.

This weekend will be our "drive around and look at Halloween decorations while listening to my Halloween playlist" weekend. We have a similar tradition for Christmas, except that one includes a peppermint mocha. I don't have any specific Fall beverages for our Halloween version, but maybe I'll add a pumpkin spice latte to our drive this year. Keto, of course, since I'm still trying to cut carbs.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Mini Friday is here!

Another cool day here, reaching only 58 degrees. Tomorrow begins the final countdown to Halloween. I just can't believe it.

I hope everyone has a great day!

We were in Disney and Universal last week. Didn't do the Halloween events though in the parks.

That's awesome! We didn't do too much during the daytime hours because we figured the parks would be pretty full due to Fall Break. We did go to Animal Kingdom on Tuesday and ended up staying from 9:30-ish to 4 p.m. The kids enjoyed it but got tired out pretty quickly. The rest of the time we mainly hung around Disney Springs (caught the new TRON movie) and explored Orlando a little.

We did the Halloween party once before, back in 2019, but we were there for my brother's wedding and the entire weekend was a rushed jumble of madness, and it was also a lot more crowded since it was closer to Halloween, so we didn't really get to enjoy ourselves. This time we wanted a more laid-back trip without committing to any plans, and it was a much, much better visit.

One of my favorite parts of the party was getting to ride Haunted Mansion exactly at midnight. We were one of the first groups to get there right after the parade, so there was no wait. That was a pretty cool way to cap off the evening.

We did 5 parks in 5 days (2 Disney and 3 Universal ones), 10 am to closing and then Disney Springs Tuesday Night and Saturday afternoon. Parks were not too bad.. Magic Kingdom was busy but not overly crowded and Universal Epic was pretty busy but again that was to be expected with it being new. My kids wanted to do the Halloween events at night but that would have been too late for our grandson.

WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 1

Good Morning Pumpkin People! Just ONE WEEK now to Halloween. I can't believe I'm writing that.

I'm hoping that the weather clears up, because right now Halloween and Halloween weekend is supposed to be rainy. I've really been looking forward to taking both kids out! So hopefully Halloween evening we have nice weather.

I echo the other posts that ask "where did Spooky Season go"? There will be a lot of time for reflection after Halloween is over, but September felt like it went nice and slow. When we got to October, somewhere it started going fast!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Halloween Fans! I wish you well here on this Friday. We have another nice autumn day here. Its 57 degrees and partly sunny. Very nice weather indeed. I'm enjoying it and I hope you are all doing well here on this Friday. Happy Halloween!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 6

Happy Saturday Pumpkin People! This is it. The final countdown / approach to HALLOWEEN. We are under a week to go now.

No immediate plans for today except to mow the grass for the last time at my Grandma's house, and then take the kids to the Pumpkin Patch at the farm about 2 miles from my house. I've been looking forward to this ever since Holly got pregnant with #2.

This was one of the places that I would wonder if we would get to go at Halloween, as I had no idea if anyone would be "OK" after our May 22nd delivery date and I certainly didn't know what life would be like. I feared for the worst the entire time, and I apologize, that's just my nature and it's something that I'm trying hard to work on. But as everybody knows, everybody was FINE - so I'm so happy to be here and to enjoy our Halloween stuff as planned.

Big Christmas tree comes out later tonight! Have a great day!
